Title: MY CAT
Post by: angelic1 on December 12, 2006, 01:38:55 PM
I HAVE A CAT NAMED SUGAR. SHE'S A LONG-HAIRED DOMAIN CAT WITH A PINK NOSE. SHE LOVES TO TAKE HER PAW AND MOVE HER TOYS NEAR HER WATER. SOMETIMES SHE MANAGES TO GET ONE OF HER TOYS INTO THE BOWL. COULD SOMEONE SHARE WITH ME WHY SHE HAS THIS STRANGE BEHAVIOR.

A person would have to be able to read her mind to know for sure as to why she does this. I have an American Rat Terrier that does the same thing with his toys. It is usually when they get a bit dirty. If the toys are clean he doesn't do it. Another possibility is that she may think they need a drink. As I said I don't know I am just guessing.

Hello Donna,

I see that you are new, so WELCOME!

All of my pets have had at least one strange behavior. I've always just thought that made them unique and more lovable. As an example, my 15 year old dog tries to sing when I pet him. With a cat, I think that Pastor Roger probably got close. It does sound reasonable to associate that behavior with some sort of cleaning. I would also be curious to know if the cat likes to be in the water.

I only had a cat once, and the cat didn't like me at all.   :D   YES, I did try pretty hard to make friends with him, but I was just a nuisance.

I sincerely hope that you enjoy Christians Unite. I look forward to reading your posts and having fellowship with you.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Water is fun. Toys are fun. Toys with water are very fun. Food is also fun, and cats will sometimes drop food in their water for the pleasure of scooping it out. (Just hope that she does not discover the toilet bowl; toilet bowls are very, very, very fun, and they have room for more fun things than ordinary water bowls do.)
Human Children also like to combine toys and water, and are also fascinated with toilet bowls.

Nice to meet Sugar! I have a gray cat named Eek who sleeps in desk drawers and tears up envelopes for nests. She also likes toilets; we keep the lids down and the bathroom doors closed.

Hi cats some times do strange things. I have 3 cats and each one has a strange behavior.

Delilah Anne is a Torteshell and loves to lick window screens. A nasty habit but she seems to love it. I am soon moving to a  new house where the windows are too high for her to reach.

Samson is a black Bombay and he will chew on plastic bags and eat them so I have to put all plastic bags out of his reach.

Ebony Jewel is a black Manx and has no tail so she loves to bite the tail of the other 2 cats and dog as they walk past her. I can't figure out why unless she's angry that she doesn't have a tail if that's possible. Lol

Cats do have strange likes and dislikes. I had a few cats in my youth that more than anything else kept me laughing at the things they would did. My first cat Rufus, loved being picked up and hugged, unless there was a female cat close by. Then he would wiggle away and try to look dignified. He also loved sleeping on my horse's back.
My second cat, Goofy, was given to me by a friend who said everytime she would take a bath this crazy cat would make a flying leap into the bathtub. At that time we washed clothes with a ringer washer and while it was washing I had taken the lid off  and this crazy cat jumped into the washer. He leaped out again and made a hasty retreat.
My last cat "Charley", used to climb upon our roof by means of some trees in the front of the house. One day I was out back  and I heard Charley crying. I looked up and he was pacing along the edge of the roof not far above my head. So I said to Charley if your stuck up there just jump down here. He gets this brave look in his eye and marches straight down to the edge and looks down at the ground and then  backed away shaking his head in fear. It was so funny.

Yes, cats can sure keep us laughing.  These are some funny stories, Islandboy and also Rev. Belch.  Please see my post under "Cats are evil" to see what my cat, Crystal, did!  :)
