Title: Blackeyedpeas please read Post by: Paul2 on December 08, 2006, 04:22:15 PM Tom,
This is Paul2, I've been away for a while. Last time I was posting I was doing a study titled "Understanding the Book of Revelation" I had it as a locked thread. I had done a verse by verse commentary and ended at Chapter 11. Does this thread still exist? I see my debate threads are still here but I was hoping to continue the Revelation thread where I left off. This will teach me to back up my studies which I should have done. Paul2 Title: Re: Blackeyedpeas please read Post by: Soldier4Christ on December 08, 2006, 05:02:59 PM Hi Paul2. It's great to see you here. I remember the thread that you are talking about. I really enjoyed it myself. Maybe Brother Tom will have something on it but I just did a thorough search for it both through the system search function as well as through your previous posts and I wasn't able to locate it.
We did have some threads/posts disappear when we shifted to the new system. I sincerely hope that thread was not one of them. Title: Re: Blackeyedpeas please read Post by: Shammu on December 08, 2006, 06:59:36 PM Hello Paul, welcome back. By chance would this be the topic you are looking for?

By chance would this be the topic you are looking for? You must read this! Revelation Really Revealed! (http://forums.christiansunite.com/index.php?topic=944.0) Unfortunately its not the thread I was looking for. I had done a indepth verse by verse study of the Book of Revelation and left off a chapter 11. I was going to send it to a friend of mine serving in Iraq, and start working on completing the study. It looks like I'm going to have to start over. What a shame to lose that study, I spent many, many hours on that so far. Well maybe I'll make it better this time around. Heres a portion of a letter my friend in Iraq sent me the other day... I had a pretty close call yesterday. I should be dead but for some reason I'm not. I was out on a mission and I was standing up against this huge 10 or 12 foot cement wall in the city. I couldn't see over it. I stopped to drink some water and catch my breath. Well some Iraqi ran up on the other side of the wall and dropped a grenade on me. (maybe he saw the 15 foot antenna thats on my radio and knew I was there) I was stunned and I kind of froze up for a second. When it blew up it flattened all the tires of the vehicles all around me and put little holes through the doors and sides of the vehicles. It kicked up a ton of dust too. All the shrapnel just wizzed by me and never hit me. But it hit everything around me pretty good. I wasn't even slightley wounded by it. Well after the blast I kind of just stood there thinking to myself..."what just happened". It took a second to pull myself together but as soon as I saw all my buddies getting up off the ground and climbing the wall, I knew it was time to go after the guy who did it. We never got him, he must have dropped the grenade over the wall and took off, knowing that it would take us a second to get over the wall. Then he just blendid back in with the people on the streets that day. Crazy man. I don't know how close you've been to a grenade blowing up, but its pretty scary. Title: Re: Blackeyedpeas please read Post by: Soldier4Christ on December 08, 2006, 07:46:29 PM The threads name was Understanding Revelations. I do remember it. If it is still here I can't find it. I did find a post that made reference to it but no link and no thread.
Thank God that your Soldier friend is alright. I have been close to exploding grenades and 500 lb bombs converted into land mines. It can be a scary situation. God was indeed with him. Title: Re: Blackeyedpeas please read Post by: Shammu on December 08, 2006, 09:30:07 PM Paul I will be praying for your Soldier friend.

I searched for it earlier and couldn't find it. :( I'm really depressed about losing that thread. I can't imagine trying to write that again. It took me months of researching and writing the first time. I don't know what to do .... I was looking forward to completing what I had started. Maybe its just not meant to be. What to do now? Paul2 Title: Re: Blackeyedpeas please read Post by: Shammu on December 08, 2006, 10:02:11 PM Brother maybe it is just a test, from Jesus. Look at the tests, God gave Job.
Title: Re: Blackeyedpeas please read Post by: Paul2 on December 08, 2006, 10:06:04 PM Paul I will be praying for your Soldier friend. My friend, Phil, is serving in Iraq. He's in the 82nd Airborne. He saw his best friend killed by a land mine. The details are horrific. Phil will never be quite the same. He gave bandanas to all the guys in his unit with psalm 91 printed on them. Thanks for praying for Phil and all the guys in harms way that are defending our country. It was enjoyed by myself, as well. I would like to see you start it again, that is only my opinion though. If I was you I would pray, and ask Jesus if you should start again. He's in the 82nd Airborne, 2nd Battalion of the 505th, 3rd combat team. He saw his best friend killed by a land mine on Oct. 15th, 2006. The details are horrific. Phil will never be quite the same. Paul2 Brother, be careful how much information you put on the open internet about where certain units are located. That is supposed to be classified information. I fully understand what these guys are going through. No they won't be the same, none of us ever are that have gone through anything like that. Let him know that there are many back here that do appreciate what they have gone through and what they are doing for us all. Please let them know that we are praying for them also. As for the study on Revelations .... if you can find the time I think it would be a great thread to have on here again. Title: Re: Blackeyedpeas please read Post by: nChrist on December 09, 2006, 05:22:18 AM Tom, This is Paul2, I've been away for a while. I really don't know what was lost in the change to the new forum software, but I do have copies of many of those threads that I use for Bible study. Just give me the word and I'll send you everything I can find. I know that ADMIN didn't intentionally delete any Bible studies. It's also many times helpful to open your profile, look at your posted messages, and click on some of the older threads. It's possible that the missing threads are still there and just need to be opened. We found this to be true with several major system crashes. ADMIN has new servers now with all kinds of extra security, so I think that the chances now for a system crash or hacking event is GREATLY REDUCED. The new system is very fast and stable. I remember one system crash where EVERYTHING people mentioned as being gone were still there and just needed to be opened. I don't claim to understand this, but I think it might have something to do with message headers and the database that controls display of messages. I think we have plenty of people who are still interested in studying Bible Prophecy. I know that I am, and I do my own Bible studies in this area on a fairly frequent basis. The subject of Bible Prophecy has come up in quite a few threads recently, and I thought of you. Brother, we have really missed you. We had some great discussions and studies on many topics. I'll also start looking on my computer to see what I have copies of. I've always been fascinated to study Bible Prophecy, and I know that I have a huge number of copies from the forum, many going back to before 2003. In the meantime - KEEP LOOKING UP! Love In Christ, Tom Philippians 1:21-22 NASB For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. But if I am to live on in the flesh, this will mean fruitful labor for me; and I do not know which to choose. Title: Re: Blackeyedpeas please read Post by: Paul2 on December 09, 2006, 08:23:21 AM Tom,
Its good to hear from you also. I started my own pond building business a year ago and just bought a 44 acre horse farm in east Kingston N.H. I haven't had any time to do anything until now. I don't know how to send a private message on the site anymore. If you tell me how to do it I'll give you my email. It would be great if by some chance you saved the Revelation study I had been working on. Let me know what you can find. Paul2 Title: Re: Blackeyedpeas please read Post by: Paul2 on December 09, 2006, 08:33:39 AM Pastor Roger,
Thank you for informing me about giving out classified information. I have never been in the military and didn't know I was crossing the line. It doesn't seem like we are a country at war right now, I should have known better but now I do. I deleted the location on my previous post. I guess I should have said my friend is in a "bad" area. The last thing I want to do is to give any information that could be used against this country. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I will be sure to be very careful of the information I post in the future in regards to my friend Phil in Iraq. Paul2 Title: Re: Blackeyedpeas please read Post by: Soldier4Christ on December 09, 2006, 10:15:25 AM Many people don't realize the implications of such. Many of the younger Troops don't even realize it either. That is the reason that our Troops have been somewhat restricted in what they can do on the internet now. The biggest concern here is the safety of the Troops themselves. They are in enough danger as it is.
Title: Re: Blackeyedpeas please read Post by: nChrist on December 13, 2006, 12:13:08 AM Hello Paul2,
I've been down with the flu, so I apologize for answering this late. I'll find what I can and send it to you. Private mail was turned off by ADMIN because of abuse of our members in several incidents. In fact, we don't know how many incidents there was, and some of it was most likely obscene. I think that I already have a couple of email addresses for you from previous Bible study correspondence, so I'll try one or both. Love In Christ, Tom Galatians 6:9-10 NASB Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. |
