Title: Newbie, looking for an interlinear (or paralell?) Bible
Post by: mom2two on December 06, 2006, 09:23:01 PM
I'm looking for a Greek, Hebrew English Bible that has the English tanslation and the original language one above the other.  The English words appear in reversed order like the actual Greek (or Hebrew).  I surely have the wrong spelling here, as I have only heard of it and have not seen the compiler's names written.  But they are (last names) Kyle and Dalich...or similar spelling.  All I need is the proper spelling, and hopefully the name of the Bible so I can search for it.  Thanks everyone!

Hello Mom2two,

WELCOME!

It's Keil & Delitzsch

I'm almost sure that what you are looking for is FREE and available for use in the FREE e-Sword Bible study package. Take a look in the computers and software section for e-Sword, and you will see many links. e-Sword also does parallels, side-by-sides and all kinds of other things - all completely free.

Tom

Psalms 18:30-31 NASB  As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the LORD is tried; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. For who is God, but the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God,

Hello Mom2two Again,

Let me clarify what I said. I have what you are looking for already installed in my copy of e-Sword, and it is FREE. I tell you this because many things that are FREE for e-Sword cost considerable money if you go looking for them in books instead of computer software.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Psalms 9:9-10 NASB  The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of trouble;  And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.

Hello Again Mom2Two,

I believe that the below is exactly what you are looking for. It's on the main e-Sword site, in the downloads section, under commentaries. I just double-checked the description you gave, and the below appears to be exactly what you described - ALL COMPLETELY FREE.

Keil & Delitzsch Commentary on the Old Testament

A classic in conservative biblical scholarship! Beginning with the nature and format of the Old Testament, this evangelical commentary examines historical and literary aspects of the text, as well as grammatical and philological issues. Hebrew words and grammar are used, but usually in content, so you can follow the train of thought.

Coming from the main site, it is excellent and a completely professional module. I must add there are many ancient language modules for e-Sword that are outstanding.

Tom

Galatians 6:9-10 NASB  Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

You are such a blessing to me!  You led me right to what I needed.  I've downloaded it, and saved so much money thanks to you!

It could have cost me up to $500!  I still haven't figured out how to use it, but I will.  Thank you again.

You are most welcome.

I really hope that you enjoy e-Sword. I'm addicted to it and run it on my computer 24/7. I think that I now have somewhere around 3,000 modules installed for it, and many of the older texts are priceless and have been out of print for way over 100 years.

ENJOY!

Love In Christ,
Tom
