Title: Hiking the Cyber-Trail Post by: preach on September 23, 2003, 07:14:32 AM Greetings, brothers and sisters,
While being stationed overseas in the military, I came to Christ...yet again. I have always had a strong urging from God to become a minister (while we are all called to be ministers), or rather a shepherd for a church. As many can guess, military life is an ongoing battle, if you will. Where is time, where is education, where is family time, where is time for God? I have recently become a minister and run a small "cyber ministry". I would not call it a church, but rather just that, a ministry. It failed miserably the first go around, mainly in part that I concerned myself with web-mastering not with following God. I soon found that when while my site was not "flashy" as it was (being a plain jane website), but held forth what God wanted it to. It soon sprang from there. Right now, Regaining Innocence Ministry is undergoing a revamp. Once again, I failed in following God. I tried to do too much too soon. I did not follow God's plan for the ministry. As of now, God wants me to focus on Men's Ministry and Military Ministry. Our Father only knows how much our brothers and sisters in the Profession of Arms need Christ right now! It is my prayer that RIM can reach out to other forms of ministry, but I am trying valiantly to follow God's plan. Of course, Men's Ministry is needed. Men have forgotten their place in the family as well as their place with God. We see so many trails with pronography and violence, abuse and lust, failed fatherhood and husbanly duties; there is a need like no other for men to follow God. We are teachers for our families. And the time is now for men to follow God and pass on the knowledge He gives us to our children and to our wives. Military Ministry is rather a new concept. Men and women who follow Christ are on the battlefield for their country and families. They see much, I can vouch, and need strength from God. The military is known for many trials of faith: seperation from spouse's, countries where sin is rampant in form of adultery and idolization. I myself live (currently) in Japan where statues of a figure are worshiped, sex is promoted in scantly hid "massage parlors", and lewd sexual activity and fertility festivals are relished. Now is the time for followers of God to grow strong and together. For our military brethren to find strength. Times of war are at hand, and evidence suggests we are living in the End Times. It is the goal of RIM's military ministry to have a bible group in every port, base, and station; to raise up leaders of God who will boldly preach. I pray that God uses this ministry to touch the lives of those close to and comitted to combat. I pray they recieve the Lord before they are faced with "live fire". I pray for their safety and for the God of love comforts them and hedges them from harm. In His matchless new forever, Rev Cal Wiggins Title: Re:Hiking the Cyber-Trail Post by: Symphony on September 26, 2003, 09:52:01 AM God bless you, Rev. Cal !! A wonderful testimony, to what you are doing, and to Jesus Christ. I like the name, Regaining Innonse Ministry. That's certainly what it is about. I confront the same issues as a small-time "business" man (or "busy"ness man, hehe). There are difficult things, seemingly, to sort out. Your goal sounds alot like The Navigators. I think their founder, Dawson Trotman, right after WWII, had a similar vision for the military. I was in one of the bible studies. Some of the best times there. And good fellowship. Good bible study. Thanks for what you are wanting to do.. In Jesus' Name. Title: Re:Hiking the Cyber-Trail Post by: ravenloche on January 23, 2004, 12:24:52 PM good testemony brother! keep up the good work.
