I thought this was appropriate for all the talk on the right of this or that one. I defiantly agree with Mr Thompson view.

What a fantastic letter, Musicllover.
I wholeheartedly agree with all you said. Much about what is going on these days is because the church, (body of Christ), has NOT spoken up in the past. But as with all things, you can only push people so far before they finally speak out. The atheists, secularists, homosexuals, etc., have been pushing their agenda for a long time, and I for one am glad to hear Christians begin to speak out against it. And I am proud of our president for saying publicly that Jesus Christ is his Lord and Savior.

How True,iam lucky to live in a place in virginia where prayer is lead at the school flag pole every mornin.I must mention going to the pole is a option.

One can pray in any school building or in any location where one wants to pray in America. Prayer is not always a public display except in the public assembly of the church but rather something that can be done in private and there is nothing more private than a small corner of ones mind opening to God.. When you are moved to prayer, pray. Be instant in it.

Romans 12:12.  Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;


 Matthew 6:5. And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
 6.  But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
 7.  But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
 8.  Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

After all, it takes just as much faith - if not more - to believe in the religion of Evolution as it does to believe in Creation.

     There are a lot of weeds to cut down, yet they grow back...and keep growing back until the 'weeds' decide that they want to become flowers.  Instead of using plain water to grow, we need the water of life that only Christ can give us.  Only then will the weeds turn into flowers.  We have to change in our hearts and want 'change'.  If all public schools have mandatory prayer, people may simply 'go through the motions' and it's not coming from the heart.  Granted, in the eyes of the church it seems pleasing but, the Lord knows their hearts.  Marilyn Manson went to a bible college and attended church regularly when he was younger.  What happened?  They have to want to pray on thier own.  It's that 'wanting' or yerning for something more than what this world has to offer may be the key.

  As for Christians, we can pray whenever, wherever we want...you don't always have to open your mouth to do it.  I've had the best prayer sessions in my car, all alone with no distractions.
