Title: The Word of God
Post by: Soldier4Christ on November 09, 2006, 05:00:52 PM
2Ti 4:7  I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Most of you are probably tired of hearing about politics by now. I know that I am, especially this year with such stories coming out on individuals in both political parties that are down right sickening. It made deciding who to vote for that much harder. One thing that I never get tired of is hearing the word of God and working for Him.

I have heard some Christians say that they didn't vote at all because there was no one reliable enough to trust. Personally I wish that they would at least have given there voice by doing a right in instead of no vote at all. Even though there would be be no chance of that right in making it at least the message would have gotten across much better. We are tired of politicians that are supposed to be representing us doing everything else but.

I am also hearing statements such as "Well it's all over now until the 2008 elections get started". Although the elections are done and we must live with those elected and attempt to support them the best we can (if in nothing else but prayer) the battle is far from over. It has actually just begun. There are too many lives and their very souls that are stake.

Instead of complaining or just throwing our hands up in desperation we need to continue the fight. We need to continue letting our voice be heard. We need to continue praying for those in office even if we don't care for them or like the things they do. Pray that God will open their eyes and soften their hearts. That they will do the Godly things in executing their jobs. We need to contact our new representatives and let them know the things we would like to see get done. We need to continue to be a witness for Him, letting our voices and our lives ring out in support of our Lord and Saviour, doing all that we can in every aspect of this life to waken people up to the word of God.

I have also heard some say to let the politicians do what they will. That it will not effect their relationship with God. It is a good thing for these individuals to keep a strong personal relationship with God. However one of the things that Jesus and the Apostles tried to teach us is that we should not be selfish. We should do what is best for the edification of all. Continue to put the word out and this includes to your representatives in government.

When it is all done and over then we can say "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

Keep the faith brothers and sisters and do the good works.

Yours in Christ,

Roger

AMEN PASTOR ROGER!

Prayer for our leaders is not conditional on whether we like them and approve of them, so prayer and our other duties remain the same. AND, the fact remains that we have a voice and need to use it.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Romans 10:3-4 NASB  For not knowing about God's righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.  For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
