Title: How to forgive
Post by: surrendersacrifice on November 07, 2006, 10:31:41 PM
Here are few ideas about how to forgive.

1)   Perfect forgiveness comes through Jesus, who compensated for the offenses we committed against Him by sacrificing His own life. In order to forgive, we must, therefore, surrender our will to God by desiring nothing except to do and accept His will.
2)   Sacrifice our hurt and pride, just as Jesus humbled Himself and sacrificed His life for us, in order to bring forgiveness and healing to those who offend us.
3)   Constantly remember that we are sinners who are forgiven by the sacrificial body and blood of Christ.
Please feel free to add some more.

to forgive is to forget! as in totally erased, deleted even in the recycle bin. What i mean is that when we forgive someone, we should always make an effort to forget all the pain and all wrongdoing a person has done for us. Well this requires a lot of sacrifice... God did not and would never show off our sins before forgiving us, right! that's it..

This looks like a beautiful thread to me with some wonderful Godly wisdom.

Yes learning to forgive is an important thing for us all to do. I also like twistedLinen's comment. This is a problem that is very prevalent in marriages with things from the past continually being brought up and eventually can devastate the marriage.
