As another sign of the times, Wal-Mart, right before Christmas, has decided to modify its image from a family friendly store to a more liberal image by becoming partners with the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. This partnership will include executive representation on the NGLCC’s Corporate Advisory Council (CAC) and sponsorship of the organization’s 2006 events and initiatives." The sad thing is that its alot easier to boycott buying a brand new Ford truck than it is to boycott basic necessites from a store that is on just about every corner and sometimes the only or most accessible store for some people. If you can't logistically boycott a place, you can always talk loudly in the store about its intolerance. You can also make sure the other customers know. I think I'm going to start dropping tracts in Wal-Mart. If a place advertising half naked women dancing can slather their crud all over my windshield in their parking lot, I can put out flyers about Wal-Mart support for attacking my Christian family!! |
