Title: Nancy Pelosi on 60 Minutes Post by: Soldier4Christ on October 25, 2006, 07:41:41 AM On a ’60 Minutes’ piece with Leslie Stahl Sunday night, soon-to-be House Speaker Nancy Pelosi legitimized the terrorists in Iraq by saying, “They’re only there because we’re there.” Regrettably, there were no follow-up questions and the piece quickly devolved into teen-girl slumber party talk, such as musical hobbies, how Pelosi met her husband, and whether she enjoys shopping for clothes.
We would have preferred to find out if Pelosi truly believes that these Jihadi terrorists are fighting idealistically on behalf of Iraqis and political freedom – when they are deliberately killing civilians there by the thousands and battling a democratic government. It doesn’t seem possible to us, but since she didn’t denounce the terrorists or take the opportunity to insist that Americans are in Iraq to empower and protect the people, we have to assume that the woman who will be two heartbeats away from Commander-in-Chief next month actually does take these monsters at their word. Thanks to the hard-hitting producers at ’60 Minutes', however, all we know for sure is that Nancy Pelosi enjoys singing and dancing. |
