Title: Fraudulent Voter Registration Post by: Soldier4Christ on October 24, 2006, 04:30:25 PM The Republican Party of Missouri says it's filing an ethics complaint about an organization that is allegedly trying to help Democratic candidates while involved in a voter registration effort. Associated Press recently reported that election officials in St. Louis and Kansas City believe that about 4,500 potentially fraudulent voter registration cards have been turned in by a left-wing organization known as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform (ACORN). Missouri GOP spokesman Paul Sloca says the allegations are quite disturbing, in light of a recent ruling by the Missouri Supreme Court which struck down a voter ID law. "You know, this kind of voter fraud is going on at many levels," Sloca shares, "and we are just very upset that the Supreme Court and the activist judges would strike down a law designed to prevent voter fraud." Sloca says the GOP has filed an ethics complaint with the Federal Elections Commission about the actions of some of ACORN's operatives. "There have been other revelations out of St. Louis about the fact that some of these ACORN folks have been not only registering voters, but trying to support [Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate] Claire McCaskill," he notes. The GOP spokesman says if enough people were able to cast fraudulent ballots, it could help McCaskill defeat incumbent Republican Senator Jim Talent in one of the tightest Senate races in the country.
