Snow brushes aside questions about immigration
Matter will be given 'the consideration it deserves'

Presidential spokesman Tony Snow yesterday brushed aside two questions regarding the threat to the United States coming from porous national borders, saying that they would be given the "consideration" they deserve.

At the end of a routine press briefing that focused on a new book by Bob Woodward, the ongoing violence in Iraq, Afghanistan, terrorism legislation and Jack Abramoff, WND was recognized by Snow.

"Is this the sex portion of the program?" Snow asked.

WND then asked Snow how far the U.S. is willing to go to facilitate the transfer of goods, people and services across borders with Canada and Mexico, and Snow responded that that was "extraordinarily vague."

"Come up with a better question," Snow said.

"Article 4, Section 4 of the Constitution says that the United States shall protect every state in this union against invasion. And my question: the president believes this word 'invasion' includes application to the huge numbers of illegal aliens, doesn't he?" WND asked.

Again Snow ducked: "Next."

"Does he believe that it includes the invasion of millions of illegal aliens, Tony?" WND repeated.

"I will raise the question and we will give it the consideration it deserves," Snow said.

WND has reported recently that illegal immigrants are killing U.S. police officers and that estimates show there are 80,000 loose on American streets even though they're sought on felony charges.

WND also has reported on plans for massive superhighway projects running from Canada to Mexico as well as practice sessions where college students pretend to run a North America government that runs from the Arctic Circle to Guatamala.
