Title: Loved one going "home" soon....
Post by: ibTina on September 22, 2006, 05:08:22 PM
Hello Brothers and Sisters,

I just learned today that my Grandpa has Colon Cancer and they can not operate due to the fact how bad it is, he would not make it through the surgery. Not sure how long he has.
His name is Dale Jack and he is a Christian, Saved by the Precious Blood of Jesus. So I know the Lord is with him, I just pray that his journey 'home' will be painless and peaceful. I pray that Grandma will be able to be strong for him as she herself is at the beginning stages of Altizmers(sp). I live in Illinois and they are in Arizona, so we are miles apart.

Thank you...God Bless...Tina

Hello Sister Tina,

Sister, I am very sorry to hear this, and I will be praying for your entire family. Things like this are hard for a family, but we must know what it means for a Christian to go home to the LORD. It's a time of rejoicing and joy forever to be with the LORD. It's sad for us, but we will be together again soon.

1 Corinthians 15:55 NASB  "O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O  DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?"
1 Corinthians 15:56 NASB  The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law;
1 Corinthians 15:57 NASB  but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:58 NASB  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:1 NASB  For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 Corinthians 5:2 NASB  For indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven,
2 Corinthians 5:3 NASB  inasmuch as we, having put it on, will not be found naked.
2 Corinthians 5:4 NASB  For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life.
2 Corinthians 5:5 NASB  Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge.
2 Corinthians 5:6 NASB  Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord--
2 Corinthians 5:7 NASB  for we walk by faith, not by sight--
2 Corinthians 5:8 NASB  we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.

We will all be praying for your entire family. Please let us know if there is something special we need to pray for.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Isaiah 12:2-3 NASB  "Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the LORD GOD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation." Therefore you will joyously draw water From the springs of salvation.

I'm so sorry to hear that tina, you'll be in my prayers and so will your grandparents. Stay strong and know that in our weakness that is when He is stronger. -Audio Adrenaline.

Sister,
I'm sorry to hear the news and yet I rejoice in the fact that your grandpa is saved and is going to be with the Lord.  I was with my mother when she passed away.  She was a very faithful woman and all I can say is at that moment, something wonderful happens.  I had never experienced death prior to this.  I never really questioned my Christianity, my faith, but now I can tell you that I never will, not in that way.  Know that my prayers will be with you and your family!
-Am-

I'll be more than happy to keep you and your family in my prayers.  I know how hard it can be to deal with such a situation.

My dad is 78 years old and he too will be going home soon.  My dad has asbestos related issues and a bad heart and there isn't anything more that can be done for him except to keep him as confortable as possible.  For us, this has been something that we have known about for about 4 or 5 years now.  In recent months my dad has had what we believe to be a series of mild heart attacks and his breathing has gotten so bad that it's hard for him to walk across the floor or to eat.

I do live close to my parents......walking distance.  I live too close to them to distance myself from the events as they unfold and my parent's care for my kids while I'm at work.  I'm in the process of trying to get a PCA (Personal Care Attendant) for my son to help make it easier on my parents and to see what other services may be available for him.  My son's teacher is trying to help me the best that she can.  I don't know why, but I have a feeling that my mom may be living with us after my dad passes away.  I'll inherit their 3 bedroom trailer house (which is better than where I'm currently living), and I already offered my mom the option of living with us.  I can't say for sure, but I think that this year may be the last Christmas that we have with my dad in this lifetime......unless something happens and he goes home sooner.
