~AAAA Title: Re:Retirement Post by: Heidi on September 07, 2003, 07:39:11 PM The derrogatory comments you make about people's imperfections, AAA, warrant them all coming back to you. But Christians have the ability to not stoop that low. You, however, cannot help your snide remarks because they rule you. Your desire to hurt people is a compulsion that you cannot help. You are at the mercy of your dislike of people and it comes out all the time. I would hate to be such a slave to unhappiness as you are. The only relief you get is in trying to hurt people. I'll continue to pray for you. You need it desperately.
Title: Re:Retirement Post by: Knox on September 07, 2003, 07:51:46 PM Seemed like a good-natured jab, to me!
Let me turn your very own words around: "The derrogatory (sic) comments you make about people's imperfections, Heidi, warrant them all coming back to you". Title: Re:Retirement Post by: AAAAmember on September 07, 2003, 09:04:13 PM Knox - I'm beginning to like the way you think. ;)
Heidi - I just think it necessary that people learn to read and write at above a junior high level, and that includes spelling. Forgive me if I try to improve the intelligence of the world. :) ~AAAA Title: Re:Retirement Post by: Symphony on September 07, 2003, 09:39:30 PM AAAA: Especially because you spelled it wrong.
Were you speaking to moi, AAAA?(http://www.oz.net/~daveb/images/Gertie_e204a.jpg) You mean "focussed"?? (I think it's spelled either way, two or one 's'...) Title: Re:Retirement Post by: Heidi on September 07, 2003, 09:41:05 PM And there are such things as typo's, Knox. You really don't think you can spell every word right in the dictionary, do you? If you can't, why do you judge others for not being able to? Unless you're in a competition with them, trying to see who can spell the most words. That is definitely Junior high stuff.
Title: Re:Retirement Post by: AAAAmember on September 07, 2003, 09:50:18 PM The "junior" in "junior high" isn't capitalized.
Sorry. :) It's not a contest. It's a sign of education (or effort - at least use a spell-check!!!). Bad spelling doesn't exactly help your cause. ~AAAA Title: Retirement Post by: Brother Love on September 08, 2003, 06:39:00 AM Do you think Christians should be focussing on retirement?? For clarification purposes... It's a sign of education (or effort - at least use a spell-check!!!). In all fairness, I was much more careful when I was still in high school and college. After a kajillion ;) years of working, I realized that men are the world's worst about using incorrect syntax and grammar. However, I have also found that it is definitely not an indicator of intelligence. And no, that is not a scientific survey - juts my own personal experiences. :P You mean "focussed"?? Just one.... ;D Especially because you spelled it wrong. :P AAAAmember and Symphony have been battling good-naturedly for as far back as I can remember. I don't even go there.... 8) Title: Retirement Post by: Ambassador4Christ on September 08, 2003, 03:49:52 PM Do you think Christians should be focussing on retirement?? Brothers, hang in there. ADMIN has thinned the troll herd down to a few strays. I didn't see it used in this thread. Sincereheart, "focussed" is spelled either way, one s or two--at least according to my American Heritage offline dictionary(1994). I prefer the double actually--especially, like "fo-cussed", with an EMPHASIS on the "-cussed" part. (just kidding... :-X). Especially in a forum or online conversations. (I hate this keyboard the c is intermitently working aarrgh!)
The rest of us have real things to worry about. It's also quite funny how english majors have such a hard time finding jobs. Must be because they're so smart. ::) Title: Re:Retirement Post by: nChrist on September 09, 2003, 08:12:59 AM Oklahoma Howdy to Symphony,

Several Oklahoma ranchers are currently thinking about raising trolls and making something useful out of them. They already know trolls can be roped and tamed, but they don't know why they would want a pasture full of them. One rancher said they might be worth their keep if he could teach them how to yodel. ;D In Christ, Tom Title: Re:Retirement Post by: nChrist on September 09, 2003, 08:35:08 AM Oklahoma Howdy to Saved_4ever,
Those graphics are cool. I have to get one of those. I prefer your spelling. I think that extra "s" is classy. Reference that problem "c" on your keyboard, don't worry about it. Just pull it out with a pair of pliers and use a letter you like better. ;D In Christ, Tom Title: Re:Retirement Post by: AAAAmember on September 09, 2003, 10:42:27 AM Hmmm...except I'm not an English major - I'm a Zoology major. Hey, dats pretty good, sincereheart. "focussing" or "focussed". Why is it "anoint", but "appoint"?? Hmmmm? Got me. Hehe--spell, spill, spull. LOL. I think English majors can be okay, actually. I think if you know language very well, that can open doors for you. Pert near, leastways. ;D (ahem, no one seems to be answering my original question--ah yes, sincereheart, I mean, um, as believers, should we be concerned about "retirement" anyway--like at age 65 or whatever...) The more support linux has the better the corporate world is in supporting it as well. There's something about red, white, and blue that I like. Whenever I think red, white, and blue, I stand at attention, salute, and sing "God Bless America." However, they won't let me sing in public, and it's not because of the song. I sing off-key and am allowed to sing in the shower, only when my wife isn't home. :D I read some interesting news on one of those sites you gave me. Is everyone done with their silly games now? Are the children outside playing ? Maybe we can engage in some adult conversation.... Should our focus be on retirement? No. Should we plan as good stewards? Yes If we are planning on Big Brother on taking care of us, we should think again. I will be shocked if there is a Social Security fund left in the next 20 years. The whole concept of the government stealing your money to redistribute it, was poorly devised to start with. There is real no security in this present world apart from the Lord Jesus. Our focus and our lifestyle should not revolve around retirement. However,if the Lord has provided the means of retirement; we should be good stewards of His gifts. If we do not provide funds for the future; the burden will fall on someone else. Planning, yes! Focus, No! Psalm 119 Title: Re:Retirement Post by: Symphony on September 17, 2003, 07:02:01 PM Maybe we can engage in some adult conversation.... Write that book! Obviously all would be able to read it! ;) Saved-4ever, It would make for an interesting paper! And since schools say they teach English to teach people how to communicate it would make for an interesting discussion! ;D Symphony, How *hic* did you *hic* know? :P Psalm 119, K, I think I'm done for now. And I agree with the "Planning - yes, Focus - no" part. |
