Title: Prayers Breaking Down the UN
Post by: Shammu on August 08, 2006, 12:31:38 AM
W0W, I surely didn't expect to see this in the News!  I am postitive it is a direct result of the prayers prayed by those of us who Believe and Expect Great Wonders from our God!  Seeing this as either a repreive in the devastation or a paving of the way for the 'false peace treaty' either way, we're in the midst of the unfolding finale of God's plan!  I don't think man's agreements are going to stop this war. Only the right hand of the Father can. May we see the power of His will and His plan!

Israel: U.N. Deal Must Disarm Hezbollah

JERUSALEM (AP) - A U.N.-declared cease-fire to stop the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah guerrillas must ensure that the militant Shiite group cannot be rearmed by Syria and Iran, a senior Israeli official said Sunday.

Israel has refused to comment officially on the text of a U.N. Security Council resolution to end the conflict, worked out between the United States and France, because it is still in the draft stage.

Israel Radio reported that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told his Cabinet ministers not to comment on the draft, which envisions an end to hostilities followed by positioning of an international peace force.

But Foreign Ministry spokesman Mark Regev outlined basic Israeli demands in an interview with Associated Press Television News.

"Ultimately, as we move into the cease-fire, we have to make sure that what will be negotiated at the United Nations ensures that Hezbollah will not be allowed to be resupplied by Iran or Syria," Regev said.

"Israel will support a U.N. resolution that will ensure, among other things, that Hezbollah cannot use the cease-fire to rearm, retrain and prepare for another round."

Officials said Israel had no intention to end its offensive for the time being. Justice Minister Haim Ramon said Israel would not withdraw from a buffer zone in south Lebanon until an international force arrived.

"Even if it is passed, it is doubtful that Hezbollah will honor the resolution and halt its fire," Ramon told Israel's Army Radio. "Therefore we have to continue fighting, continue hitting anyone we can hit in Hezbollah, and I assume that as long as that goes on, Israel's position, diplomatically and militarily, will improve."

Israel launched its offensive July 12 after Hezbollah guerrillas crossed the border and attacked an Israeli army patrol on the Israeli side, killing three soldiers and capturing two others.

In the three weeks since then, Hezbollah has fired more than 3,000 rockets at Israel, while Israel has pounded Hezbollah bases and southern Beirut from the air and sea while sweeping through the border area with ground forces.

Israel has said its goals are to prevent Hezbollah from firing rockets and to keep the guerrillas away from the border and hopes for international support.

"I think we are hopeful that there is an emerging international consensus that sees a cease-fire as part of a more long-term solution," Regev said.

"We cannot tolerate a situation in which this proxy for the regime in Iran, this puppet of the ayatollahs and the extremists in Iran, can lash out at the Israeli public," he said, "and we have to act decisively to neutralize their military capabilities."

Just think about it, the anti-christ (who ever he is) may enforce this very treaty.  The leaders on all sides will listen to him.
