Title: Trust in Jesus
Post by: surrendersacrifice on August 05, 2006, 11:26:56 PM
To trust in Jesus, is to accept His life. His life is the life of unconditional love, which enabled Him to sacrifice His life for those who were unfaithful to Him and betrayed Him. If we don't accept this life, we do not have faith in Him. When we accept His life, He rewards us with the opportunities to live His life. This means that He gives us opportunity to unconditionally serve and forgive others (including those who are unfaithful to us). This further means that our trials and challenges in life are our rewards, because, through them we get close to Jesus (who underwent trials and suffering for our sin) and allow Him to purify our soul.

AMEN!!! - SO TRUE!!!

It is wonderful to stop and think very often that we serve a LIVING LORD. HE did die for us in our place, but the grave could not hold HIM. HIS children have LIFE in HIS LIFE, and we know that will be for eternity.

Love In Christ,
Tom

John 17:21-23 NASB  that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. "The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.

Wonderful truth!   It makes me think of the 'battle cry' of the Moravian missionaries as they boarded the ship that took them to the island they knew they would never return from.

With raised hands the missionaries cried in unison: 'May the Lamb that was slain,  receive the reward of His suffering!'

Hello Firelight,

Your post reminded me about Christians all over the world who are being persecuted, beaten, imprisoned, and killed for simply trying to share the GOOD NEWS. We should all give thanks every day that we live in a part of the world where we can still study God's Word, share, and witness in peace and safety. All of us should also pray for Christians around the world who are in dangerous places trying to do God's Will.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Romans 10:8-10 NASB  But what does it say? "THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART"--that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

Amen!
This is something I often take for granted myself! I happen to be blessed to have so many Christian brothers and sisters around me, and yes, we are often discussing the gospel.  I couldn't imagine being in danger for doing such things.  These wonderful soldiers of the Lord will always be in my prayers!
Blessings!

Good afternoon, Tom and Am...

Philippians 3:10 comes to mind,  thinking of those who pay a price to follow the Lord:

'That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death...'

What a powerful thought,  that we have a deeper 'fellowship' when we suffer for His cause.    If more people understood this,  what a difference it would  make in their 'worlds'.

Blessings!

Hello Amorus and Firelight,

I have many times wondered why this part of the world is so blessed with such a huge abundance of Godly materials. We have the massive buffet of spiritual food, and parts of the world simply get crumbs that fall off of our tables. I know that we are spoiled, and I also know that we don't deserve all that God gives us. This always leads up to a question about what we do with our riches and abundance. I hope and pray that we all find ways of sharing the GOOD NEWS and trying to replace those crumbs with meals.

This is one reason why I like the Internet, even though I know there are many evil things here. Even people with modest means can use the Internet to share the Gospel of the Grace of God. I give thanks for every Christian who attempts to share a meal - both the food for our bodies and the food for our hearts.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Psalms 36:7 NASB  How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.

This is me too, Brother Tom.   I may not be able to go out into 'the mission field' physically, but I can do my part via the Internet. And hope and pray that I can make a difference for someone in showing them how much Jesus loves them and how He can give them Peace, Love, Hope, Security ... everlasting!

Sister Tina,

I give thanks for you and all of the other sweet Christians here. I know in my heart that we are making a difference because God has promised us that His Word will never return void.

I can't remember the details or how long ago this incident was, but I'm thinking about one of our members reporting that a forum in China copied many of our posts onto their forum. Some had mixed emotions about this, but it made me happy. They were using our posts to teach English and the Holy Bible. This always makes me think about many big-hearted Christians who pay for servers that distribute Godly material all over the world every day at no charge for the person or group receiving it. It makes me very happy to know that Christians Unite is one of those Christian servers. God has freely given us all things, including His Son - JESUS CHRIST - our Lord and Saviour. It should make us feel good to freely give to others whenever we can.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Psalms 118:24 NASB  This is the day which the LORD has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

WOW... yes that is great news what you said about China. And Praise God for the countless more that we do not even know about!

Amen to all said above!  I think the internet is a valuable tool, and yes, sadly there is much evil lurking every corner, but it always brings me hope to know all the wonderful places to share the gospel of our Lord and to see people every day doing it.  Many have their own websites or blogs dedicated to sharing the Good News and we may never know who's eyes will graced a post, a website, or any other material placed by a loving Christian and be saved by the Loving grace of Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!  It brings my heart joy.  May the Lord be praised!
