Prophecy often presents itself as ongoing and in what is called “types and shadows.” We saw yesterday a “type and shadow” of the prophecy in Zechariah 14:3, in which the Lord says, “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people; all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” It was amazing the speed with which the United Nations Security Council brought forward a resolution condemning Israel for defending itself against the Russian-backed Iranian-sponsored terrorists groups Hezbollah and Hamas.

Ten of the 15 Security Council nations voted in favor and four, Britain, Denmark, Slovakia and Peru, abstained. That means that Russia, China, France and Germany along with the other nations supported the condemnation of Israel and demanded that Israel cease its disproportionate” actions against the terrorist groups. The United States was the only country to vote against the draft resolution put forward by Qatar on behalf of Arab nations. The Security Council was saying that it is all right for terrorists to attack Israel, but Israel has no international right to retaliate with enough force to root out the problem.

It has taken literally years to bring Iran to the United Nations Security Council for its nuclear program. Iran is not even brought before the council for its direct support of global terrorism. Even now, Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has a defense pact with Syria, says, "If the Zionist regime commits another stupid move and attacks Syria, this will be considered like attacking the whole Islamic world and this regime will receive a very fierce response." And the U.N. Security Council will not haul in Iran for its actions and remarks. But allow terrorists to attack Israel and Israel defends herself and the entire world less the United States rushes before the Security Council to condemn Israel.

We are also seeing a type and shadow of the Ezekiel 38 prophecy where the Lord says he will put a hook into the jaws of Gog—which is modern day Russia—and bring its army along with Iran” and Northern Africa against Israel. There are over 140 Russian military scientists in Syria, according to intelligence reports. Russian money, technology and scientific assistance are found in Iran. Iran military advisors assisted North Korea in its recent crisis-provoking missile launches. And China is also deeply involved. These national leaders are more fervent than the majority of the Iranian people who in a recent poll—67% said Israel has no right to exist. You are watching prophecy unfold before your very eyes.
