Title: Alive and Kickin'! Breaking All-Star News . . . Post by: StillSmallVoice on July 10, 2006, 01:04:02 PM American League manager Ozzie Guillen has tapped Kenny Rogers of the Detroit Tigers to start for his All-Star squad tomorrow night.
Kenny Rogers? Didn't he sing The Gambler and Coward of the County? No, but this one's almost as old. The Tigers' Rogers is over 40 -- isn't he? Seems like he's been around since I was in college . . . and that was a long time ago. Wasn't Moses 80 (some say) when The Manager called him out of the dugout for a big save? Plus, he made his 41-year-old body take a hard dive for a sharply-hit ball in the second inning. What more could you ask? Makes me want to go out and take some infield practice. |
