Title: Crisis In Boys Education Post by: BlackmanX on May 15, 2006, 09:43:26 AM Have any of you noticed the crisis in men's education ? fewer men are graduating high schools and colleges. It's a disturbing trend which can affect tomorrow's society in a very negative way if it is not addressed.
Schools routinely discriminate against boys and don't try to understand boys' educational needs. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10965127/site/newsweek/ http://www.onlineopinion.com.au/view.asp?article=679 http://www.tnr.com/doc.mhtml?i=20060123&s=whitmire012306 http://www.deanesmay.com/posts/1137786675.shtml http://hatemalepost.blogspot.com/2005/12/psuedo-befuddlement-over-boys.html http://www.boston.com/news/globe/editorial_opinion/oped/articles/2006/02/06/the_lost_boys/ http://www.joemanthey.com/ A recent experiment in single-gender classrooms has shown that students do perform better in them. Maybe this is the solution to the current Crisis in Boys Education. http://tln.typepad.com/tln_voices/2005/12/our_singlegende.html I think that parents everywhere should demand that the Board of Education starts making Boys Education a priority ! Title: Re: Crisis In Boys Education Post by: Soldier4Christ on May 15, 2006, 12:15:48 PM I don't think that single gender classrooms are necessarily the answer to this prolem. Public education has gotten away from things that count and are trying "educate" our children in the things of the world. The schools need to get back to those things that are important in education ..... {rayer, Bible, Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic ...... Leave the sexual promiscuity, abortion, "we are just animals", etc out of their agenda.

When my children went to school, prayer was already taken out of schools, and now that my grandchildren are in school things just seem to be falling apart. Some of the reasons are because of the "politically correct" thing to do, other reasons are because it seems that most teachers nowadays don't take a genuine interest in the education of their students, some are there just because it's a job and that means a paycheck. Others are so limited by what they can do for fear of being fired or sued that they just seem to be apprehensive about many things. If it seems like the educational system is falling apart it's because it is, along with all sense of morallity and honesty. This is all tied in with the end of days. The Bible teaches a lot about the degeneration of mankind in the Gospels and in the books of Timothy as well. |
