Title: National Day of Prayer Post by: Soldier4Christ on April 30, 2006, 10:36:09 AM Once again this May, millions of Americans will lift their voices in a chorus of prayer for our nation. The National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 4, and the theme is America, Honor God, taken from I Samuel 2:30.
1Sa 2:30 Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed. Title: Re: National Day of Prayer Post by: Shammu on May 02, 2006, 07:53:55 AM Pray thursday for the peace and safety of our great country.
Let us be mindful to be in prayer tomorrow for our country and our leaders. I was just reading the boards and an overwhelming feeling came over me to pray for our officials, our government leaders, our police and public service forces. With all the intended chaos of these huge rallies and immigration marches tomorrow, and the increased hell-fire rhetoric of Iran, pray that we are not the target of increased terrorist attacks while our police and officials are monitoring and dealing with the marches. This would be just the opportunity the terrorists would look for--already existing chaos in our streets, to exploit any weakness or inattention to safety to harm us with their terrorism. I would imagine that Iran and other rogue nations are watching this unfold and salivating at the thought. Let each one of us post our prayers here and keep this in mind tomorrow. If this sounds melodramatic, it's not intended to. I am responding to a really powerful feeling in my heart this morning. Thanks everyone. It is a time that our country will be very vulnerable.
Title: Re: National Day of Prayer Post by: Shammu on May 04, 2006, 03:58:54 PM Well brothers and sisters, I'm off for my hour of prayer I promised to PPT. I ask each of you to pray, for at least a few minutes for the United States President, and nation.
Pray for the President and other leaders as they gather with members of religious communities from across the nation to observe the National Day of Prayer on 5/4. Pray that God will be exalted and glorified, and that all Americans will be inspired to turn to Him in repentance and obedience. Pray for the President on 5/4 as he meets with Uruguayan President Tabare Vazquez and on 5/6 as he speaks at graduation ceremonies for Oklahoma State University. Pray also as on 5/11 he addresses graduates of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College which suffered tens of millions of dollars in damage and lost one-fourth of its student body due to Hurricane Katrina. Pray that God will strengthen and inspire him as he seeks to encourage the graduates. Pray for the President as he travels to Broward County, Florida next week to encourage senior citizens to register for the Medicare drug benefit in advance of the 5/15 deadline, speaking on 5/9 at Broward Community College in Coconut Creek and on 5/10 at an open conversation in Orlando. Pray that all seniors who still need to sign up for this important program will get the help they need and will register in time. Give thanks for the many efforts being made to prepare our nation for the possibility of a bird flu pandemic, and pray that preparations will continue and that Americans will respond with cooperation. As military sources have reported that they nearly captured Abu al-Zarqawi last month, pray that intelligence and security forces will find him and bring him to justice. As the verdict has been handed down on the trial of Zacarias Moussaoui, give thanks for our justice system. Pray for the salvation of Moussaoui, that through life in prison, he will come to faith in Jesus Christ. Pray for President Bush, Deputy Sec'y of State Zoellick and leaders of five African nations--Congo, South Africa, Nigeria, Senegal and Egypt--as they work to resolve the crisis in Sudan. Since 2003 more than 180,000 people have been killed and 2 million have been driven from their homes in the western region of that nation. As the nation of Iran defies U.N. sanctions and threatens Israel, pray that they will respond to negotiation and will stop developing nuclear weapons. Pray for the U.S.S. Enterprise and its entire strike force group as they deploy to the Middle East, asking God to protect each sailor and their families as they work to protect the cause of freedom around the world. Pray for all the members of our military whether they serve on board ship, in the air or on the ground, that they will be protected by God and will have His guidance and wisdom as they serve. Resting in the hands, of the Lord. Bob Job 22:21-23 Acquaint now yourself with Him [agree with God and show yourself to be conformed to His will] and be at peace; by that [you shall prosper and great] good shall come to you. 22 Receive, I pray you, the law and instruction from His mouth and lay up His words in your heart. 23 If you return to the Almighty [and submit and humble yourself before Him], you will be built up; if you put away unrighteousness far from your tents, Title: Re: National Day of Prayer Post by: TalkerCat on May 04, 2006, 04:21:42 PM Special prayers going up for Israel!
