Tehran has recruited and funded eight Islamic fundamentalist organizations to undertake retaliatory strikes against U.S. and British military and economic interests across the Middle East – and perhaps in the U.S. and Europe – in the event Iran's nuclear facilities are attacked, reports a London Arab daily, Asharq Al-Awsat.

The plan, which has been heavily funded and was created by a number of experts in guerilla warfare and terrorist operations, includes suicide attacks against U.S. and British targets in the region as well as their allies. According to information gleaned from a senior source in the Iranian armed forces' joint chief of staff, logistical support for the groups that would participate in the plan comes from Brigadier General Qassim Suleimani of the of the Revolutionary Guards' al Quds Brigades.

"Most of Iran's visitors in the last four months, including the leaders of revolutionary groups in Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon, as well as the heads of Hezbollah cells in the Persian Gulf and Europe and North America were asked, when they met with the Iranian intelligence minister Gholamhossein Mohseni Ezhei and his aides: 'Are you ready to defend the Islamic revolution and vilayat e faqih (rule of the clergy)?'" the source said. "'If you agree to take part in the great jihad, what would you need to be ready for the great fight?'"

The leader of one of the Iraq groups that is part of the "Judgment Day" plan told the Iranians his men would turn Iraq into hell for Americans in the event of an attack on Iran. The Revolutionary Guards' military training camps have been made available to Moqtada al Sadr's Mahdi Army. Al Sadr has received more than $20 million from the Iranians.

Street-fighting training has been given in Isfahan, Iran, to members of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, as well as large sums of money and large quantities of arms.

As reported by WorldNetDaily, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has recruited Imad Mugniyah, the Lebanese commander of Hezbollah's overseas operations, to oversee retaliation against Western targets following any U.S. strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.

Officers sent to southern Lebanon last month are in command of more than 10 thousand rockets aimed at Israel's cities. It is believed they've been given control of Hezbollah's missiles to attack Israel if Iran's nuclear sites are hit. U.S. officials and Israel intelligence sources believe Mugniyah is in charge of these operations.

"When and if the Iranians decide to hit the West in its soft belly, Imad will be the one to act," a Western intelligence source said.

Approximately 80 members of Hezbollah received training last year in ultralight aircraft and undersea operations in order to carry out suicide attacks.

Implementation of the plan is set to begin immediately following a strike on Iran's nuclear facilities and would progress in six stages:

    * U.S. bases in Iraq and the Persian Gulf region to be struck by Iranian missiles.

    * Suicide attacks in a number of Muslim countries against U.S. embassies, military bases, economic and oil-related facilities tied to U.S. and British firms, and targets in countries allied with the U.S.

    * Attacks by Revolutionary Guards and Iraqi insurgents loyal to Iran against U.S. and British forces in Iraq.

    * Hundreds of rockets launched by Hezbollah against pre-selected targets in Israel.

    * If U.S. military attacks continue, more than 50 Shehab-3 missiles will be launched against Israel and 50 terrorist cells in the U.S., Canada and Europe will be given approval to launch attacks against civil and industrial targets in those countries.

    * Maximize civilian casualties with germ agents and "dirty bombs."

The more I contemplate this situation, the more I become convinced that Iran will get their nuclear weapon, and nothing will be done about it.
I am of the firm belief that Iran is the reason for the high gas prices, and no one will admit it, because it makes us appear weak, and unable to rectify the situation. Just prior to the big price hikes last year, Ahmadinejad stated that he was going to make sure we (the west) would soon find our gas prices much, much higher (something to that effect)
and then "bang!" it happened , and here we are.

I can't see Iran launching a nuclear weapon, because it would be the same as the cold war where it would be assured distruction for Iran, and they know it. So I can't see the U.S. sending forces in, especially when they are so spread out, and the world is angry at them and allies for attacking Iraq in the first place, let alone the constant fighting going on there each day.

I think it will play out the exact same way India did, and Iran must be banking on that.

The only way to force Iran to give up their nuclear goal is for Russia and China to get tough, ans that is not going to happen.

In the end Iran will have the weapon, and as we know through Bible study, Iran, Russia, China etc, will use these weapons one day soon against Israel, and that will be the end of them.

Our gas prices don't need to be as high as they are. If the Democrats and those Republicans that go with the environmentalists would allow the opening of the Alaska well that they have had shut down to open up and to allow more gas processing plants to open up we wouldn't have this problem. Gas prices would drop back down in a big hurry. That Alaska well would put the U.S. as the biggest oil producer in the world. It would even exceed all of Opec put together. President Bush has been pushing for that well to open since he got in office and has gotten nothing but opposition to it all the way.

Yes, brother I remember Ahmadinejad saying that as well. Things will go down accordingly as it is written.

Wading into oil politics for the first time, Iran's president said crude oil prices - now at record levels - still are below their true value. George Orwel, an analyst at the New York City-based Petroleum Intelligence Weekly said he thought Ahmadinejad was playing the oil card to resist pressure over Iran's nuclear program.

"They are using the oil as a political football. Every time there's an issue with Iran, the oil market freaks out," he said. If the United States were to attack Iran, Tehran might try to cripple the world economy by putting a stranglehold on the oil that moves through the Strait of Hormuz - a narrow, strategically important waterway running to Iran's south.

While Ahmadinejad did not say he would use oil as a weapon in his dispute with the West, Interior Minister Mostafa Pourmohammadi said last month the oil card is in play.

"If (they) politicize our nuclear case, we will use any means. We are rich in energy resources."

"We have control over the biggest and the most sensitive energy route of the world," he said, referring to the Straits of Hormuz.

There are also resources yet untapped in the Gulf of Mexico that the Dems and environmentalists won't allow to be touched. If all these plus the cap on alternative fuels are lifted there would be no way that Ahmadinejad would have any card of any sort to play with.

Here in Canada, we have what is supposed to be the largest oil reserve on the planet. However, it is trapped in the sand, and technologies to release it are in effect. We are only beginning to tap our oil resources here. Alberta has no taxes, and they are the richest province in Canada because of their oil fields.

The trouble we both share is a lack of refineries. We could begin building them, but it will takes many, many years before they are actually at the refining stage. By the time that happens, we should be well into hydro-cell technology, and the money needed to build the oil refineries will have been wasted. That is why I can't see a solution to our dependency on middle east oil. We are addicted to it, and we have allowed our own sources go to waste because of environmentalists. I wonder how loudly these same people will be protesting when they can no longer effectively afford to complain about tapping our home oil reserves because of high oil prices. :-\

With todays technologies a functioning oil refinery only takes 1 to 1 and half years to build. Not a long really. About the same amount of time it takes to build most factories of that nature. A reactor plant takes much longer because of the added security required in the weld joints and such. I know this because I was in the construction of such processing facilities for a number of years after getting out of the Navy. Brother, this is just one of the many excuses used by these people to keep them from doing what is needed.

Oil companies have made increased profits in the last few years. More than double what they were making prior to these supposed shortages and threats of war. The money is going into their pockets and yet they are still getting government subsidies and tax breaks for research into alternative fuels.

President Bush has tried to get a bill passed to tax them on the increased profits or to use these profits for producing alternative fuels just to get shut down by those against it.
