Title: Hispanic Attorney Says Using Term Illegal Alien Racial Slur Post by: Shammu on April 26, 2006, 01:49:42 AM Hispanic Attorney Says Using Term Illegal Alien Racial Slur
April 25, 2006 08:47 AM EST By Sher Zieve – Appearing on KLIF Radio’s Gregg Knapp show, attorney Domingo Garcia said that using the terms illegal alien or illegal immigrant is a “racial slur”. Garcia said that those who use it, in reference to Hispanics, are racist. Knapp advised Garcia that using the term “illegal aliens” or “illegal immigrants” is an accurate term applied to [their] legal vs. illegal status in the country and a true depiction of the fact that they are illegal. Garcia said: “Using words like illegal alien is like calling people derogatory names…like calling people n****!” (edited by me.... It has to do with the law not with race. There are many different races that are illegal aliens not just Mexican. There are those that are white that are also illegal aliens. The Mexicans are putting this upon themselves not others. It is the same as what Bill Cosby has been saying about the black people. Instead of doing what is right just yell prejudism.

And as far as what Bill Cosby said I was just talking to my daughter on the phone and she had just mentioned that very same thing, she calls it using the "card" You, DW, BEPs, and Bro John, know better than anyone I'm not being biased or prejudiced here, I am Hispanic, and I am married to a man of African American decent. I just tell it like I see it. She has said the same thing many times. I saw her one time, at 139 lbs, lift a guy 6 inches off the floor by his collar because he tried to invoke the "card" against me. She told him to get his black behind back to work and earn what he wants. She was the hardest working person I have ever met and never allowed race to be a part of it. Some people get caught doing what they know is against the law, and right away they want to make a racial issue out of it, some people want to make a depraved background out of it, etc., everyone wants to make an excuse. As a Hispanic growing up in the 50's, I was faced with a few challenges, but I got OVER IT. Some people just won't let go and move on. |
