Title: Great to be here
Post by: Anna Grace on April 02, 2006, 10:27:20 AM
Hi. My name is Anna Grace Poschet'. I am 46 years old, retired/disabled RN. I am happily married with no children. I am a writer and a pianist.
I love Jesus and I am a Christian. Due to my health problems I am at home most of the time. I enjoy chatting with fellow Chirstians and I am a member of two other chat areas. One is from my hometown where I keep up with the news from home. And the other is one for people with chronic pain and disability. I enjoy writing and corespondence with other Christians.
I hope to find new friends here and look forward to being a part of this board.
I will check back from time to time.
God Bless
Anna

Hi Anna,

Welcome to Christians Unite. We have some wonderful Christians here that also love fellowshipping with others. There are a number here that are handicapped for various reasons and are also here quite a bit of the time. I'm one of those. Looking forward to seeing more of your posts.

Hello Anna,

WELCOME!!!

We have quite a few members here who are also disabled and retired, including me. I sincerely hope that you enjoy Christians Unite, mainly because we look forward to having fellowship with you. We do have many sweet Christians here, and we are very happy to have you join us.

Hebrews 12:1-2 NASB  Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hello Anna, and welcome!

What is it with us disabled people? We always seem to find one another! ;)
Hope to see you here often. I am 43, also happily married. We have three sons, and a foster daughter. I also have a 22 year old daughter who has just recently had her second child!

John

thank you all for your replies.
I hate to think of myself as disabled but I must face it as well. I have many health problems and some of them I have been avoiding and ignoring (or trying to ignore) for quite sometime. I have had to find a new doctor because frankly I dont think my other one has a clue what to do with me. I have put off finding a new doctor until today. I had a fitful rest last night because of the symptoms I am experiencing. Being an RN I thnik thru all the senarios as to what could be wrong and I am afriad. Jesus has told me 365 times in the Bible to not be afriad. I am not afriad to die, I am just afriad of suffering more than I do already. It was really hard for me to make the doctor's appt. But I did it. I have an appt with an Internal Medicine Doctor tomorrow at 1:00pm. Please pray for me and for him. His name is Dr. Branning. Thanks to you all in advance.
Anna

Anna, I prefer to call myself physically challenged, not handicapped.

Anna, my prayers are with you, but remember sister, God is always with you. He promised. God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and of a sound mind. I will continue to pray for you my sister.

Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

1Co 10:13 No temptation has taken you but what is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but with the temptation also will make a way to escape, so that you may be able to bear it.

:D I too, Dear Anna, am "challenged" physically!  But someday I'll put on my dancing shoes again!  And until then the Lord will carry my load.

Blessings ~

NONE of us are "handicapped", "disabled" or "invalids" !! I particulary hate the word 'invalid' because if pronounced differently, (albeit correctly) it is also 'in - valid'!  WE ARE VERY VALID!

All Christians are tested.  When my life needs prospective, I turn to the Book of Job~ good old Job!  To praise the Lord in times of trial is easy to say, but not always easy to do.  When my pain meds aren't doing their job, I turn to prayer and ALWAYS find comfort. . . not to say my pain disappears every time, but I know that Jesus suffers with me and I'm not alone.  None of us are.  And none of us will ever suffer like Jesus did.

Blessings ~

Brothers and Sisters,

The last few posts brought back fond memories of a dear friend who passed away with brain cancer at the age of 22. He didn't have any portion of his body that functioned even close to normal, yet he was one of the most dynamic Christians I've ever met. He wanted to be called "differently abled", indicating to him that God had given him gifts that other people didn't have. He was right, and a host of people still think of him regularly, especially when they are feeling down. I don't know how many young adults were led to the LORD because GOD was working in a frail, broken, and dying body. I remember him talking about running, jumping, and dancing when he got to heaven.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Proverbs 22:2 NASB  The rich and the poor have a common bond, The LORD is the maker of them all.

Amen BEP's, as the Word says when we are weak then we are strong. I believe that physical strength is nothing compared to spiritual strength. Yes it would be nice to have physical strength, but if I had to choose one over the other I certainly would choose spiritual strength.

The strongest people that I have ever met were those that had an inner strength. They were able to do things that other people in there same situation could only dream about. With Jesus Christ at the center of our lives that inner strength is fortified because it is His strength that we then have. This is what Paul is saying in 2 Cor 12:10. When he was weak He became strong because that was when he leaned on God the most for His strength.

Amen Brother Roger and Sister Maria!

I was just thinking about strength in JESUS and knowing that the Power and Ways of God are many times past finding out.

All of us have questions from time to time about life and GOD. For example:  I've asked and I know that many others have asked about easy and hard in relation to good and evil. Why would an evil person have an easy life and a sweet Christian have a difficult life. I think that many of us have partial answers. We know there is no reason to envy the evil person, and we also know that we are to give thanks, glory, and praise to the LORD for what HE gives us. For one thing, we know that the evil person's ease was short and like the blink of an eye, but our JOY will be for eternity. Part of the answers for God's children involves testimony and HIM molding us for HIS use. If a Christian really thinks about this, it would make them happy and say, "Here I am LORD, send me."

Some people, especially the lost, would think this conversation is pretty strange and depressing, but I think that many Christians would see this conversation as positive and uplifting.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Psalms 104:33-34 NASB  I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.  Let my meditation be pleasing to Him; As for me, I shall be glad in the LORD.
