The Hebrew word for deliver is natsal, which means to snatch something or someone away from a captor, to defend a friend and strip him away from the enemy. In luke 4:18, the word deliverance has a little different meaning than the above passage. It not only involves snatching someone away from the enemy,but also restoring that which was stolen by the enemy. Jesus stated-The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken hearted; to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind; to set at liberty (free) those who are oppressed (bound);to proclaim the acceptable year (grace,favor,ability) of the Lord.
