Taking Christ out of Christmas

First of all, i want to wish everyone a belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to each and everyone of you. I pray and I hope y'all have a very Chirst and Spirit filled year to come. Now, on to the reason for this post...

I've got a little story. It's kind of cute, but kind of sad (in a way). I think. I thought it something y'all would enjoy and maybe pass on to your loved ones.

I used to always abbreviate Christmas to X-mas. I'm sure alot, if not most of us have. I never even thought about it while I was doing it. Well, after I met my wife and we had been dating for a while, my wife got on me for doing it. Here's why...

When my wife, Brandie (whom is a very beautiful and Spirit filled woman), was a young girl, she abbreviated Christmas to x-mas. At the time, she was young and kind of immature in the Lord. In fact, she didn't go to church. Well, her dad got on her about it. He said that if you abbreviate Christmas to x-mas, you take Christ out of Christmas. Now, have any of you ever even thought about this? I'm sure some have. But I know I didn't.

Now, every time I write or type about Christmas, I make sure and use the whole word. And when I do, I think about why we have this wonderful day and also think about what it means to me.

I hope y'all share this with the people you love and think about what Christmas is and what it means to you. I know how I now have a better understanding about it and it means so much more to me then getting presents and I hope it does the same for you.

Allowing Christ to enter our lives

Howdy Robert "Philippians 4:13",

Greetings. I appreciate your good wishes. I hope each of us will be encouraged in these difficult times and patiently wait for the coming of Jesus Christ.

I was interested in your comments concerning Christmas, and it repeats comments made by a friend at work. Let me firstly state that I am overawed by the events of the birth of Jesus as they are revealed to us in the Bible records of Matthew and Luke. I also live in Australia where we have a Queen's birthday holiday in June. The Queen's birthday is actually on another day, and the holiday is possibly a carry over from King George V. I respect the Queen and appreciate the reminder and the holiday.

In a similar fashion, Christmas reminds me of the birth of Jesus, even though I do not think he was born on that day. I hope that you do not take offense at this, analysing the word as you have done, but I am not a Catholic, and I do not like the second part of the word Christ-Mass. This word is foreign to my religious environment, and I associate it with the ritual of the Catholic Church. Yes, remember Christ on this holiday, also rejoicing with the family and giving are very commendable.

But let us remember Christ, not just once or twice a year as is popular, remember his birth and his death and resurrection every day of our lives and praise God for his mercy and love in giving His Beloved Son John 3:16.

x-mas is the same as Christmas.  the x stands for Christ in the Greek. if youve seen the fish with letters on it it shows the x which they use to stand for Christ.  Nothing wrong with it. Do most use it without know yes they do but honeslty their is nothing wrong with it those who do take out dont without know the top usually dont acknowledge Christmas as Jesus bday anyway.
