I’ve heard my many people that they believe that the rapture is near. That this will be the generation that sees God come back and gather his children, and that the rest will see the Antichrist come to power.
???How many of you believe this?
???Where can I find more information about this in the Bible?
???What are the signs that make people believe that He is coming back so soon?

I have no idea. I would think its not that far off...... Matthew 24:26, 44 No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father..... Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. |

Hi Pixie,
I feel that many generations before us probably had times which seemed as though the rapture was very close. Theres no question in my mind that the birth pangs Jesus spoke of in Mathew 24 have begun. Right now things are deffinately ripe for the Lords return. Thats not to say that it might not happen till a hundred years from now though. Thats why Jesus told to us to watch and be ready.
Its an extremely indepth study and leads to many other nuggets of truth in scripture. But, I think the biggest indicators to watch in regards to endtime prophecy is the peace process in Israel, and the world powers that be falling all over themselves to be in position to be the ones who bring it about. The geopolitical landscape most deffinately resembles much of what was fortold about the endtime in Ezekiel, Daniel and Revelation and others. Another biggy for me is the current state of the Church. Paul told the Thessalonians there would be a great falling away in the endtimes. I think this trend, while maybe not at its fullness yet, is deffinately starting to be seen. Christian Churches in US are now closing more churches than they are building. This statistic is not limited to any particular denomination, but is seen across the board for the most part. It may surprise you to know that the fastest growing religion in the US is Islam.
I also feel that things could get much much worse before we see the rapture, but thats just my opinion. The important thing is to get on fire for the Lord, witness with great urgency, and be ready for the masters return, as we do not know what day or hour He will return.
