Well, the Lyrics are great. Not Praise music, but good Christian Entertainment. I’ll Download a few songs some time.

Anyone here a fan of strength sports? I love them personally. Powerlifting, Body Building, weight lifting, Highland games, Worlds Strongest Man contests.

Oh dear, I didn't mean to start a denominational debate!

That is ok. It isn’t your fault. We are getting a little off topic here.

Personally I follow the Anglican line on this one Smiley The deuterocanonical books (its better to call them that than apocrypha, otherwise you get confused with Enoch and the like) are good to read, but not on the same level as the rest Smiley

As you said, a really long proverb, right? Most of it all are just repeats of previous OT books. Still… lol, I’m fighting THAT battle down in the apologetics front.

I like Sirach, anyway. There is a lot of good stuff in there. As I said, its like a really long Proverbs. Why don't you have a read of it, Saved_4Ever? No harm in reading.

Yes, maybe if those who hate the Catholics that will grow to see their Catholic Brothers in a whole different light. If nothing else, the Catholic's "extra" books are a good read.

lol, where do you get all these Lyrics from? Who wrote them? Who plays them?
2495  Theology / General Theology / Re:Why Crucifixion? on: May 14, 2003, 03:11:29 PM
I want the Church of God to resemble a Body, not a battle field. Is that so ignorant? I’m happy to debate Doctrine with my brothers and sisters in Christ, but they have to come to the realization that we are Christians like you. We believe in the same God, and the bible is our Holy Text. Let us both put the insults aside, maybe we can discuses this. You didn’t know that Sirach was book in our bible, maybe there are other thing you don’t know or misunderstand about us. The Catholic Church is very detailed, there are Catholics who don’t even understand it, so it is only natural many Christians do not either.

What is your Denominational Affiliation, my friend?
2496  Theology / General Theology / Re:Why Crucifixion? on: May 13, 2003, 11:39:00 PM
Didn’t see that one coming... Grin I’m truly very sorry you feel that way. I hate to inform your that these are lies by the enemy to keep the Church of God separate. I guess there isn’t much I can do to change you opinion, right? Maybe we Catholic on the board here can hopefully change your mind about us, see that we are your brothers, not your enemy.
2497  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re:Was I Christian, cowardly or courteous? on: May 13, 2003, 10:54:55 PM
Honestly, bro, I think you where none of the above. You where only startled by the friend you haven’t seen in years, and you where at a loss for words. It is a common thing, people talk about whitnessing, but sometimes miss a chance. Try not to make a habit of it, but in the long run it may do you some good. One day, when you are talking to him about what you believe, and he tries to interrupt to correct you, you can say “Listen, I listened to you talk about your beliefs, and didn’t try to argue or anything, so please, give me the same respect." Was this a spoiled chance to whitness or a  seed planted (sorry for the cliché) for a later date? Maybe both! Remember, all things work together for good for those that love god and are called according to him plan. Don't be so hard on your self. God didn’t look at what you did and said “Man, that is a wrench in the system!” He knew it was coming, remimber that. This isn’t an excuse to go off and do al kinds of stuff and let God work it out for good, as I’m sure you know, but it is a comforting though that God know when we are going to screw up from the time he made Adam, and already has it planed out.
2498  Theology / General Theology / Re:God is not only a jealous God, He is selfish also. on: May 13, 2003, 08:21:58 PM
Good article. An interesting read. Thank you for posting it.
2499  Theology / General Theology / Re:Why Crucifixion? on: May 13, 2003, 08:19:25 PM
Please Please PLEASE do not confuse the qu'ran with the Catholic Bible. There is a Sirach 31:21 in the Bible, the Catholic Bible, which, for your information, if believed by millions of people all over the world to be the True Bible. Please Please PLEASE do not insult your fellow brothers in Christ by dismissing what we believe is the true bible as a pagan holy book without reading so much as one chapter from it!
2500  Theology / General Theology / Re:CONTEXT-IMPORTANT? on: May 13, 2003, 07:58:11 PM
Now, let’s give everyone the benefit of the doubt, I’m sure they all agreed with me, and just didn’t want to clog up the post repeating the same thing. Or many them had the same question. Either way, no problem, glad I could help you.
2501  Theology / General Theology / Re:Why Crucifixion? on: May 12, 2003, 10:33:46 AM
Excellent answer, Petro. I only wish I would have gotten to it first, lol  Grin
2502  Entertainment / Music / Re:my favorite christian band on: May 12, 2003, 10:26:31 AM
Not really a band, but my Favorite Group has to be the Tallis Scholars.
2503  Theology / General Theology / Re:CONTEXT-IMPORTANT? on: May 11, 2003, 07:08:50 PM
Naturally, yes. The chapters and verses, as you know, were added later, the books were written as one text, in most cases, letters to brothers and sister in Christ in other Cities. Emagine if this post was split up into verses and chapters, we someone wanted a quote, they could say:

Tibby 1:1 "Naturally, yes"

Now lets traslate it into a forieng langauge, and see how much more jumbled the Verse would get. You would have to read it in context to know what I meant by "yes"! If not, someone could easily misquote me, like this:

Person 1: Is the moon made of cheese?
Person 2: Tibby 1:1 says "Naturally, yes"

Now, this is a pretty silly example, but think about how easy it would be to is misunderstand if we didn't read the context! Personally, I don't think you have to post the verse in context, if they want to, they can look it up for them selves! Just as long as YOU read the verse in context before quoting, to make sure you udnerstand it, and you arn't misquoting.

2504  Theology / General Theology / Re:Jesus Freak on: May 09, 2003, 11:16:36 PM
Yes I've been persecuted for My beliefs.  I'm curious how you have been persecuted for your Christian beliefs in a predominantly christian country.  We must be vigilant in our defence against this kind of Religious persecution.  Persecution against the Status Quo is the most dangerous kind of persecution. It is persecution that dare not speak its name. These evil people are not unlike Nazis.  They know that the Majority is not behind him so they must operate in Shadow, and whispers.
The most vicious persecution is silent persecution.

lol, yes we are persecuted, by each other! Mission for Catholics is an example. I see it here a lot. Baptist think they are the best, Methodist thing they are the best, and they persecute each other. My town has Baptist churches nearing 100 (a town of 15000 people, mind you), and most of them started out from one Church. They but continued arguing and attack each other. It is like the old joke says “With friends like, you, who needs enemies!” Church splits are truly a bad thing. This is the same mind set the Christian church has been battling with for decades! The “we believe in religious freedom and open-mindedness, IF YOU AGREE WITH US!” mind-set. Don’t mistake, we are persecuted. Sometimes the attacks come from with in.

On another note, though I would admit I love Jesus and wish to follow his teaches, I do not consider my self a “Jesus Freak.” I’ve always looked at it like this, Does Jesus  take normally humans and makes then into freaks, or does he take freaks and makes them might men and women of God? Just a though  Grin

No, I loved the Comic books, and the Cartoon. But this is a movie. Comics and Toons, they have plenty of issues/episodes to resolve most sub-plots. In movies, they have at most, 3-4 movies to settle everything! This was a 2 hours movie, with material enough for at least 2 seasons of a TV show! Finding Nightcrawler, the whole deal with Nightcrawler, only 5 minutes? It was intertwined in the entire moive. Hardly a minor part of the movie.

Don't get me wrong, it was a good movie, I just think it was to unfocused. For people who are not fans of the X-Men, the movie would go over their head! I guess you can say it is your average Comic book movie. Fun for the fan, but it could have been better.
