Hello Dan
Please forward your source for the definite article.
God bless duval
Hi duval and in Greek it is called the ARTICLE and not the definite article . Look at A MANUEL GRAMMAR of the Greek New Testament by DANA and Mantey on page 135-153 and the Article always point to a SPECIFIC THING and if you have Strong's you can look up all Articles that are used in the bible and Bullinger has a book " THE GIVER AND HIS GIFTS " LINKED to the Holy Spirit that is very good also . dan p

Hi nChrist True, you've come up with some answers and some had scriptures attatched but none gave truth to the subject discussed. I DO assure you I give attention to your posts as all others. Further, while an old man I yet retain a clear understanding of what my Lord, Jesus the Christ and His apostles taught on the subject. I shall now repeat the questions I asked you which for some reason you refused to give answer to: QUESTION: Was Holy Spirit baptism a promise or command? MY answer is: promise! QUESTION: Was water baptism a promise or command? MY answer is: command! In view of what you said in your last post what our beloved Peter said is most appropriate now: "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:" I Pet.3:15. God bless you in your search, duval Hi duval , and I have to cut in answer you . When God commanded Noah to build an Ark , that was only given to Noah !! Lets fast forward and look at what Matt 5 says and will you agree ?? In verse 27 , " that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her , committed Adultery , do you believe it ?? In verse 29 , if thy Right offend thee , pluck it out , and is this for today at this point in time ?? In verse 30 , the same for thy right hand , just cut it off , an is this true for today ?? And in verse 20 , if your righteousness EXCEED of the scribes and Pharisees , YE SHALL IN NO CASE ENTER THE kINGDOM OF HEAVEN !!! And here I thought we HAVE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF CHRIST Are there 2 Righteousness ?? What is the time line for the Kingdom of Heaven

Hi Dan
No the little yellow face IS NOT mine. I don't know how to transfer it to my posts. Only think I can think of is that about that time I dropped my mouse and lots of things got muddled on the screen so maybe by accident it appeared. All I know!
What I do know is that John 14,15 and 16 spoken only for the Apostles and that John 17 is realliy the Lord's prayer. Did I leave out chapter 13?, yes, I should have included it above.
God bless you- - - duval
Hi duval , and the Gospels are part of the OT or Old Covenant !!!

Hello Dan
Peter said "some" of Pauls writings are "hard" to be understood, NOT ALL! Its uninspired man going around preaching about "kingdom saints" and "grace saints" etc; etc, terms never used in God's holy word that causes division and atheists to laugh.
I say the "unlearned". "unstable", who "twist" or "wrest" s cripture to their own "destruction" are those who preach such things as "kingdom saints" as opposed to "grace saints", etccccccc. Further, can you please tell me when and where Paul changed from a "kingdom" to a "grace" saint?
Hi duval , and even some good dispensationalist will not answer , nor can answer that question , because it NEVER happened , that's why !! In Rev 5:8 the ones saved and died in the Tribulation through the preaching of the Gospel of the Kingdom ( MATT 24:13-14 ) are called Saints !! In 1 Cor 1:2 we are Called/Chosen/Elected to be saints by the Preaching of the Gospel of the Grace of God dan p

All this stuffing about differeces between a "kingdom saint" and a "grace saint" is just that, false teaching stuffing. When Paul was told to be baptized in Acts 22:16 was he responding as a kingdom or grace saint? No wonder the atheists laugh!!!
God bless, duval
Hi duval and let me tell you why Atheists laugh as you say . In 1 Cor 2:14 , But the NATURAL man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God , for they are FOOLISHNESS unto him , NEITHER can he know them , because they they are SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED . Now let see what 2 Peter 3:15-16 saiys to those who are not Pauline . In verse 15 , Peter calls Paul beloved also accordingto the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you and I believe that it is the book of Hebrews . Then in verse 16 Peter says that the things that Paul writes are HARD TO UNDERSTAND . Which they that are Unlearned ! Which are Unstable !! Twist or Wrest the scripture unto their own Destruction . If you understood the IMPLICATION , of when he Paul was a Kingdom saint and when he then changed to a Grace saint and your answer shows that you do not understand what I have written . We all have the right to be wrong , the best to you , dan p

Hi Dan
I don't concur with that conclusion. Matt.28:19-20 was given to the apostles as well as other disciples. II Cor.5:20 to the apostles alone, they are the ambassadors, not we.
God bless, duval
Hi duval , and you do not believe the witness of the Holy Spirit in John 20: 23 that Jesus gave the Apostles the right to remit sins What kind of coolaid have you been drinking . just kidding , but it does look BAD !!! So , how did they REMIT sins , it was by Baptism , how simple !!

After muddying the waters with the new question about the 144,000, I'll answer the original question.
Since Paul introduced the Grace Gospel (and referred to it as "his" Gospel), he must have been saved by the Kingdom Gospel. In other words, he immediately recognized Christ as the Messiah.
It is equally obvious, however, that he considered his future home to be in Heaven, as do those who receive the Grace Gospel.
Hi BillyShope , and I disagree with the Acts 28 position in many ways and this is one instance . Though I agree on some points , here , when any one says that Paul was saved under the Gospel of the Kingdom , they never produce any verses or verse . All agree that something HAPPENED in Acts 9:6 , but all do not agree on how Paul was saved !! In verse 6 , what gospel did Jesus preach to Saul I can say that it was not the Gospel of the Kingdom !!! And the explanation is in verse 6 and in 1 Cor 12:3 , yes it is !!! Rom 1:1 and 1 Tim 1:15 and 16 and 1 Cor 15:8 attest to that conclusion . And A question that comes up , IF Saul was saved under the Kingdom program where is Paul , with a verse , where is Paul TRANSFERRED FROM BEING A KINGDOM SAINT to being A GRACE SAINT Here is another question , if he was a Kingdom saint , where is Saul/Paul baptized ?? They never have produced a verse yet and I have posted this same question on various forums , dan p

Theology / Debate / Re: Why do we have to confess sins ??
|
on: December 17, 2010, 03:31:29 PM

Hi Dan
If careful search of scripture is made it will be seen that present sins are forgiven conditionally. There is the word "if" there. Little, but a mighty big word. I have yet to read anywhere in the Bible where "future" sins are forgiven now, presently, at this time. If you know of such a passage please share it with me.
God bless you as you study, duval
Hi duval , and covenants are Conditional and Unconditional , but in grace we are forgiven ALL TRESPASSES , ALL , ALL , ALL !! Col 2:13-14 . In Col 2:14 , it says " and TOOK " it out of the way " . The Greek verb AIRO which means n " TOOK " is in the Perfect Tense , Active Voice , and in Indicative Mood . The perfect tense means Past Action with Continuing Results . And good example to show the Perfect Tense is in John 19:30 , where Jesus said " it is finished " which means that His death on the cross is in the Past Action in dying for SINS and the Cotinuing Results are always in the Present as Christ keeps on saving people and will never have to die again or go back on a cross to die again . The Active Voice means that He did the dying . The Indicative Mood , means that what He said in John 19:30 is a FACT . And the rest of the verse in 14 , He NAILED TO THE CROSS , and the is your proof , dan p

on: December 17, 2010, 03:20:02 PM

Hi Dan P
I do not understand it to mean there is more than one gospel that is certified. Names are important and they mean something and so with the church from above. Most names in the NT for the church will break down into the name of Christ which is the name above all. Most frequently the word (in our English) used is "church" and Jesus said He would build His.
God bless, duval
Hi duval , and the Matt 16:18 is for Israel and has nothing to do with what Paul calls the Body of Christ . Both are called Assemblies and one is Dispensational and the other is for the Kingdom of Heaven .

Hi Dan
The "rapture" is something else I've never read read in the scripture.
duval
Hi duval , and it is found in 1 Cor 15:51-58 . In 1 Thess 4:13:18 . In 2 Thess 2:1-2 In Gal 1:4 A nd these are the main ones but there are other proofs and the correct word is not Rapture , but DEPARTURE , in 2 Thess 2:3 , for falling away .

Hi Dan
It remains true that Paul was speaking of one one gospel in Gal.1:6-12 With the definite article "the"before the word "gospel" WHAT does that suggest? One or many? I say one.
Blessed assurance, duval
Hi duval , and in Greek it is called the ARTICLE for the definite article it is in English not Greek . The Greek ARTICLE " THE " points to a SPECIFIC gospel and it is the Gospel of the Un-circumcision , aslo called the Dispensation of the grace of God , my gospel , the gospel of God , gospe3l of Christ , gospel of peace , gospel of H
