Title: The Christian Life
Post by: ollie on May 30, 2003, 06:20:26 PM
True Christians living their lives for Christ and allowing Christ to live in them are probably the most tolerant in the world.

They are to live peaceably with all men, as is possible, Romans 12:18.

They are not to seek vengeance, Romans 12:19.

They are to feed and give drink to their enemies if the enemies are hungry or thirsty, Romans 12:19.

They are to overcome evil with good, Romans 12:21.

They are to put into actions, love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. They are not to do anything to anyone that they would not want done to themselves, Matthew 7:12, Galatians 5:22

Christians are to do good unto all men, Galatians 6:10, 1 Thessalonians 3:12, be patient, 1 Thessalonians 5:14.

They are crucified with Christ, Galatians 2:20

Dead to sin, alive to God through Jesus Christ! Romans 6:2, Romans 6:11

In christian love, Ollie

No offence but, what's your point?

Hi,

Glad to see you posting. Welcome. Pray all is well with you.

The point of my post is the same as the title, "The Christian Life". Just some scripture to remind us of how Christians are to be in daily life and not just Sunday go to meeting people.

Plus, to point out that the lifestyle that God has designed for His people is a thing of beauty.

I am not offended with your asking me this!

In the love of Christ,
Ollie

One thing I'll let you know I'm not exactly new. I'm actually not new at all! And you know almost no Christians still act the way the Bible tells them it's so pathetic!  :-\

It's just hard to find them. ;D

Hi,

I know you were a member before the site crashed. What I was trying to say was, it is good to see you back and posting again. Any way it is good to have you here again.

The only way we can be sure there is at least one person living the Christian life is to live it oneself. We can only rule our own hearts with Christ. We can not control others.

Thanks for your reply.
Ollie

James 2:14.  What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
 15.  If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
 16.  And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
 17.  Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
 18.  Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
 19.  Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
 20.  But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
 21.  Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
 22.  Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
 23.  And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
 24.  Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
 25.  Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
 26.  For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Faith alone does not make one righteous but faith that produces works makes for righteousness and justification.
Therefore the Christian life should be lived if one is Christian otherwise it becomes an hypocrisy and not the truth of God.
