60526  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:Revelations on: November 07, 2004, 12:50:53 AM
Quote
By "false prophets" I mean all those who refer to "the beast" as "Antichrist".  when in fact there are no scriptures to support that.  The "beast" in Rev.13 is called "son of perdition" and "man of sin", but NOT Antichrist.

2Jo 1:7  For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Quote
By "false prophets" I mean those who teach the fable about how Antichrist will go into a rebuilt temple in Jeruselam, claiming to be God.  And how that he will stop the bloody animal sacrifices which the Jews will have instituted at that time.  That's rubbish...No scriptures exist to support that doctrine.

2Th 2:3  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2Th 2:4  Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Mat 12:36  But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
Mat 12:37  For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

A standing Army may be unconstitutional in some peoples eyes. This is the reason the funding for the Military must be voted on and renewed each and every year.

If we did not have a Military unit at all times we would lay ourselves wide open for any and all to just walk in and take over our government. That is what the Cold War was all about, the prevention of our country being taken over by forces that were waiting for the right moment to do so.

This is still a real threat today. If we were to do away with this "standing" military force we would have been attacked long ago and by the time we had put a militia force into action it would have been to late to prevent a take over.

You can show him through your actions by returning his anger with love and understanding. From what you said, his anger has to do with your love for God not necessarily anything that you have done. Let him know that you are not angry with him and that if he changes his mind that you are willing to talk with him about it. Pray about it, God will guide you through it.
60530  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re:If You Are Happy And You Know It on: November 05, 2004, 10:13:12 PM
Psa 144:15  Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.

Psa 146:5  Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:

Pro 3:13  Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

Pro 16:20  He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.

Jam 5:11  Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

Rom 5:11  And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

You have planted the seed by verbally witnessing to your friend. From that point on sometimes it is best to let your daily life do the witnessing for you instead of appearing to try to force your beliefs on someone else. Live your own life for Jesus by letting it show in your own actions and daily decisions.

The next thing to do is to take it to Him in prayer. Let the Holy Spirit do the convicting.

Be sure that you don't let your friend drag you down and prevent you from living a full life through Jesus Christ as Jesus is the best friend that you will ever have.

60534  Entertainment / Politics and Political Issues / Re:Should a christian vote? on: November 05, 2004, 09:46:53 AM
Technically, Jesus' words - as a boy no less - "I must be about my Father's business" - should be on all our lips, all the time.

Is 'voting' "being about my Father's business"??

I have difficulty imagining Jesus in a voting booth.

    Roll Eyes

Jesus was with me in the same booth I voted in.

Whatever it takes to fight the evil of this world, one step at a time.

60535  Theology / Apologetics / Re:Mirrors on: November 04, 2004, 10:48:09 PM
The mirror is an excellant analogy. Think of how mirrors were made.

A piece of glass that by it self is transparent (nothing)

If you look at the back of a finished mirror it is dark, dirty looking (sin)

In the middle is a silver lining (The Holy Spirit)

When turned around we are a reflection off the middle and the dark, dirty side is gone from sight.

I do.   2Timothy chapter 2.

I just wonder who you are.  Who are you??? Listen, don't you think that culture was the basic reason for that guideline??? THings were a whole lot different than they are today, buddy.  You need to really think about this one!!!!

Hey this is a rerun:  but who are you to say that I'm not called?  Have you even talked to me in person and i am convinced that if you do talk to me in person, you will see that God has called me to the mininistry of preaching.

I not only have thought about "this one" I have also prayed extensivly and searched God's Word, not mine. I am nobody, without God through Jesus Christ. As you said, it is not up to me it is up to God and God's Word. Personally I take God's Word at face value.

Now, who's for 2008?

Hopefully, it won't be any of us.......

Thank you, Evangilist. I found that enlightening. I was well aware of those erroneous beliefs just not under the term of "Universal Salavation". Thank you again.
