93  Entertainment / Movies / 28 days later on: December 11, 2003, 09:45:33 AM
The wife and I watched 28 DAYS LATER the other night. All I can say is wow. Something in that movie made me uneasy. It actually gave me nightmares. For those of you who haven't seen it, it is worth renting. There is some foul language but not every other word. There is no casual sex, and the story is more belivable than most (it is a stretch but a possibility). It is a british movie, with pretty deep character development. The action is a bit gory for children, so no kids need to see this.

I give it 5 out of 5.

95  Entertainment / Music / Audioslave some food for thought... on: December 10, 2003, 10:15:56 PM
I've been interested in Audioslave for some time now. I love their music and actually started listening to the lyrics. They seem to lean towards a Christian theme... example

Ok hereis a something to ponder.....
The military usually pioneers (we are the guinea pigs) new technolgies like this. So logic would say that us Christians who are currently serving would be required to get this chip. Now I doubt this chip really would be the MARK but it still makes me uncomfortable. They already have my DNA, I probably have a clone somewhere in Nevada Smiley now the Goverment wants to know everything else about me?

They will know more than Santa Claus...lol
98  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Re:Church Leaves Man to Die on: December 10, 2003, 09:08:19 PM
As a Methodist it saddens me that they turned their back on this fella. I invite people into my own home who stop by looking for work. Sat down with them, offered food and drink, then sent them off with a prayer. Granted it was in my home, where I am armed to the teeth, but I still feel compassion to my fellow man.

I wonder if this church has faced any hardships following this incident?
99  Prayer / Prayer Requests / *UPDATE TO THE UPDATE TO THE UPDATE* on: December 09, 2003, 12:18:46 AM
Well SIL is still with us. She still is fighting the love Christ has to offer. She is unwilling to change her ways, is it immaturity, or is she just stubborn? It seems so easy to me sometimes, but then I remember how I was before I gave my life to Christ. Sometimes I feel like I am talking to a wall. Maybe I am being prepared for my own daughter's adulthood Smiley This is a tough nut to crack. If ya'll put in a word for her during your prayer time I would appreciate it. Her name is Christy by the way.

much love,

Jim

102  Prayer / Answered Prayer / Re:Marriage... love or life sentence?? on: November 21, 2003, 12:36:48 PM
well here is an update since I wrote out my testimony. We renewed our vows on the 20th of September. We have grown tremendously in our relationship. Christ has done wonders in healing our wounds. We both seem to be learning from one another again, the respect we have for each other is steadfast. Our children are blossoming. All thanks to the love only Christ can give. I have developed an unquenchable thirst for the bible. We pray together all the time. All I can say is PRAISE GOD!!!

This is an amazing journey that I never want to end. May the blessings flow to all of you that read and post to this long string. Because of the support I have recieved here and in my community it has enabled me to lift my head up and testify and profess my love for Christ.

103  Prayer / General Discussion / Re:In God We Trust on: September 19, 2003, 04:24:47 PM
Tibby I just want you to know.... RIGHT ON BROTHER!!!!

I am a Texan born and raised. I know exactly how you feel. There is a certin amount of pride that comes with that title. A deep heritage most states can't match. Now I know alot of it is from my upbringing. Altho I am not a "True" southener I consider myself to be one, considering most of my origins are from the deep south (even though most of those are Cherokee). I was raised with a sense of duty before God and my country. Hence my carrer choice of the Air Force. How many others have that honor bestowed on them? I serve so that others may bash me and my fellow servicemen by refusing to say a pledge we hold so dear. Unfortunatly that is the way it is becoming. I can easily get off on a rant right now, but I will spare you all. I am sure you can figure out where I stand on this issue.

Ok now as far as "In God we trust" can people walk away from God anymore than they have already? I am quite happy being part of a nation that has the cajones to have that on its currency. So with all that said....

%^&@ the Liberals.....!!!!!

Bless you all,

Jim
