Was the Canaan woman a Gentile? Is so i posted some questions.

Matthew 15:22
And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23-But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24-But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25-Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26-But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27-And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
28-Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

My questions are?

1.Why didnt Jesus first answer her?

2.Why did the Disciples say send her away?

3.Did Jesus only come for the Jews?

4.The Childrens Bread, were the children the jews?

5.Where the Dogs Gentiles?

Jabez,

The scriptures are written as a complete book they all join together. From reading at forums etc one can get the idea scriptures are like  'news' sound bites .....

Gal 3:28-29
8 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
KJV

Col 3:11

11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
KJV

Rom 2:28-29

28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:

29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God

Oklahoma Howdy to Jabez,

HIS own were the Jews. HE came unto HIS own and HIS own received HIM not. As a result, the Gospel was given to the Gentiles. The Gentiles were the heathen, the most evil people on the face of the earth, the least worthy of HIS perfect sacrifice on the cross.

Those who were known as Holy and wise men of the Jews accused Jesus Christ of blasphemy and doing works of the devil. They were wise in the Law, the shadow of things to come. When the reality of that shadow stood before them, they wanted to kill HIM. They persecuted The Christ at every turn, and they physically killed many of HIS children. Eventually, The Christ was crucified on the cross.

Jabez, this is one reason why the history and life of the Apostle Paul is so interesting. Paul had been one of those wise and educated Jews who rejected Christ. In fact, Paul was a powerful persecutor of Christ and Christ's followers. Paul hunted the Christians down and killed them. Paul wanted to exterminate Christians from the face of the earth, but we all know what Christ eventually did with Paul.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Jesus came to be rejected by the Jews first. He foreknew of His rejection but gave them the chance of the Kingdom knowing full well he would be rejected but the offer was valid. Had the Jews chosen to accept him John the Baptist would have fulfilled the prophecy of Elijah in Malichi. The offer was valid but it was foreknown he would be rejected but to fulfill the "legal" justice angle, the offer was legit. Once the jews rejected jesus the obligation to the jews was complete and he turned to the gentiles to save us. It was always part of the plan but the Jews had to reject him as Messiah first. Jesus came to save all that the father had given to him, past, present and future. Just as Jesus made a legal offer to the Jews for the Kingdom when he lived amoung them before His death, Jesus offered "everyone" Salvation but He foreknew and pre-destined those who would be saved, and all who would be lost had the legitimate offer of Salvation , just as Jesus gave the jews a legitimate offer for the kingdom but he foreknew the Jews would reject him. Both the offer of the kingdom for the Jews and Salvation to all mankind were legitimate offers, Jesus foreknew and "chose" and pre-destined those who would be saved.

Can a person not pre-destined before the creation of the world be saved? Legally, the answer is YES, it would be possible.

Will a person not pre-destined before the foundation of the world was layed become saved? No, although it is legally possible by free will, none will be saved by their own free will, Faith itself is a gift of the Spirit. If Jesus didn't call you to himself, no man will chose to come to him. Only those he called and pre-destined will be saved, by his mercy, not their free will for without His call no come to him on their own.

The Church was planned from the beginning but hidden from the Jews. Read Romans 11:25

The Church was intended to make Israel jealous, and when "the fulness of the gentiles be come in" the Rapture will take place and Israel will burn with jealousy and then Daniel's 70th week will begin, when God begins to deal with Israel again and start their prophetic clock ticking once again.

Israel's 70 weeks prophetic countdown was stopped at the end of the 69th week on palm sunday April6th 32 a.d. when the messiah was cut off from the people, and his fate was sealed by the sanhedrin the very day of the "so called" triumphant entry into Jerusalem. The 70th week does not begin until 1)  the Rapture of the Church has taken place, 2) Antichrist signs a 7 year treaty between Israel and 10 nations.

Bad teaching, has nothing to do with the question.

jabez,

Good question..

At that time, it was not revealed that the gentiles also, would be made partakers of the promises.

It was later revealed to the apostles, Peter gives an account of this revelation at Acts 10 (when God showed him in vision of the animals in the white sheet, let down from heaven), and recounts it at Acts 11, and again at the Council at Jerusalem Acts 15.

The Apostle Paul at Eph 1:9, 3:3-9, which according to Paul;

"was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit." Eph 3:5-6

My question is, did Jesus know this? my answer is; HE did..

Blessings,

Petro

Jesus came to convict the world of sin and to bring His chosen unto Him. This includes Jews as well as gentiles.
