Hello TigerLily and All!

Grin  I am back, but I think that I have some sort of cold or virus. OR, I could be just worn out. I don't know yet.

We had a GREAT time. Our youngest grandson is also sick with something, but the grandmas and great-grandmas said it was probably just teething. He does have two teeth that just came in on the bottom. Oh! - I almost forgot to mention that the grandmas and great-grandmas are IN CHARGE! If you don't believe this, just ASK THEM.   Grin

Regardless, we had a wonderful time in the LORD. One of my favorite things this year was listening to the 4 year old and the 6 year old recite their Bible Memory Verses. I'm very happy that my 6 year old learned how to read with the Bible. There are also a variety of excellent Christian materials for his age group, and he told us some of those stories - mainly about Bible characters and JESUS (i.e. Noah, Moses, Sampson, etc.). I must brag just a little bit and say that his stories were pretty accurate.

I give thanks for a wonderful time, and I hope that everyone had a great time. I'm trying to catch up on some reading now. So far, it sounds like everyone had a great time.

I'll go ahead and confess the one bad thing I did. If you're thinking about a pie fight - NO, we ate them all.

I've been a Baaaaaad Boy and I ate too much.

For those of you who don't remember, that part of an old Abbott and Costello line.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Ephesians 5:19-20 NASB
speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;

LOl @ my witty humor.. glad you enjoy it..
your on morphine..? Im on dilaudid.. and a multitude of other med's , the dr is trying to get teh drug complany to help me to get on a medication that will get me off narcotics, but stil helps the pain..Its a medication that tricks teh pain sensors into not realising how much pain there really is,. Im not sure of all teh info.. but would love to get off narcotics..

Hello PK,

I tried one called Neurotonin. It did help for a time and stopped doing anything at all. AND, it doesn't work at all from the start for some people. Everyone has a different body chemistry, and I guess that's one reason why they have so many medications for the same thing. Some folks also build up a tolerance for some kinds of medication, so taking it every day isn't an option.

There's always the rubber mallet option that nearly always works, and it comes in various strengths (i.e. 5 pound, 10 pound, and 15 pound for extreme cases.) It just involves a swift tap right between the eyes. The only reports side effects are headaches and blurred vision, but that usually only lasts a short period of time.   Grin

The only thing I haven't tried is electric shock. That's pretty expensive, and it only works for some people, so I might just try the electric socket at home.   Grin  What some of us really need is a back transplant. I'm holding out for a cheetah's back. My wife doesn't think this sounds funny. YES - I'm kidding, but I did talk to my surgeon about this, and he DID think it was funny. He said that he would investigate techniques and I could be his first. Mine would be less complicated since I want the legs, paws, head, teeth, and all.   Grin     YES - I know - call the white coats and carry me off.

Eating to much is something that generally happens at hoildays like that lol ! and yep.. I remember that line.. I have a few of thier movies.. HYSTERICAL!! love it.. I have ona about going to africa.. and my favorite part is they are sitting eating and this giant gorilla comes along and the only one to see him is the short funny one (i get thier names mixed up) and he is trying to tell the rest about it and he's trying to do it without scaring them so he is trying to eat at same time.. OMMAANN it is so funny.. no matter how many times i watch it i totally crack up !!!

far as the medication.. im a little concerned it wont work.. IF they will give it to me... he is gonna get me started on them while im still on the narcotics so that theres no withdrawl.. Im hoping and praying it works..

CHEETA huh? lol ok glad you mentioned the white coats lol.. at least your acknowleding them LOL.. Wink Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
but I can see how it would be something to think about, myself Im jsut sooo SICK and TIRED of pain.. omg I dont know how I get thru the days without loosing my mind at times.. (God yes.. thats the only way) but it gets to me.. I spend alot of time trying to NOT be crying...)

Far as your grandbabies.. that so awesome!! I love that they are into the bible and all that kinda of thing,, I remember when my oldest used to stand on the sofa and pretend to preach and sing etc.. have a regular church service...etc.. was so cool!! lol
(sadly.. he is in a backslidden state.. sigh.. thats a whole other storey!!)

anyways luv and hugs,.. gonna check the boards...

Hello Grammyluv,

I'll just give thanks that I have some real sweethearts for bosses. My mother is 86 years old, and she's one of the sweetest Christians I know. I'm keeping her and will follow her orders. I also do what my wife says - just not as quickly.   Grin

Grin   YES - In fact, I refuse to have a back transplant unless it's a cheetah. If I'm going to go through something that major, I want to be able to run 60 mph after the surgery.   Grin

Reference the medication I mentioned, many doctors have samples that they can let you try to see if it works. You would have to follow the strict instructions of the doctor since more harsh medications are already involved. It isn't an option in many cases.

I remember the episode of Abbott and Costello that you talked about. That was one of my favorites. I think that Costello was the short one if I remember right. Abbott was what they used to call a "straight man" in comedy acts of long ago. Having a good "straight man" made the comedy routines twice as funny. There's a cable channel called "TVLand" that still runs a lot of the old shows from time to time. My older favorites were The Three Stooges, Abbott and Costello, The Little Rascals, Laurel and Hardy, and the old cartoons when I need a laugh. YES - the secret is out - I still watch old cartoons.   Grin

yeah I love them old shows.. that channel and Deja View.. lol my favorites I was born in the wrong time LOL..

My medications, (about 7 different kinds sadly) I am so hoping this works for me cause i awant off narcotis.. the addictiveness and the damage its doing to me (pain sensors and stomache..) but if these new ones dont work.. then I wont have a choice, I cant  go a day without pain killers.. I tried.. went about 2 days and nearly lost my mind.. it was absolutely WAYYYYY more pain then I could bear.. I spent the time praying and beggin God to help me and crying etc..
I am off for about an hour .. oldest son "nathaniel" is getting on the puter for a bit.. then when I get back on.. I will be going on a posting storm LOL or will try lol" hoping ya'll are online when I get back.."
luv and hugs

Hello TigerLily,

Sister, I think that we sometimes just have to do exactly what the doctor tells us to do, regardless of what we want to do. We can try other things or even a different doctor, but there's usually a price to pay for not following the doctor's orders. I found that out the hard way several times, so I just do the best I can to follow his orders. I give thanks to have an excellent doctor. I'm positive that GOD used my doctor twice to save my life, so I'll just give thanks. I've asked my doctor about stopping various medications several times, and he basically told me that I didn't have many choices and still have any quality of life. That's enough of the doom and gloom stuff for me. I'm really a very happy person, and I want to be of use to GOD until HE comes to take us home.

I'll have to look and see if I have Deja View. I haven't heard of that one. I don't watch a lot of television anyway. I watch the news mainly, but I do like to watch some old shows from time to time and The Animal Planet. The Animal Planet is where I got the idea for a Cheetah back transplant.   Grin

Yeah I agree..I figure Luke was a physiian and Im sure God gave him the wisdom to be so and I believe God gives Dr's wisdom to know how to handle different things (not to say that all dr's are right etc.. but in general) My dr has been good to me to, Im grateful for him.. for sure!
Deja view has alot of the oldies.. I luv them.. when I got offline last night so that my oldest son could get on,, i popped in my abbott and castello ,"africa Screams" i beleive its called and totally enjoyed it lol.. gave me alot of good laughs.. no matter how many times i watch it, like,. only the short chubby one would get a faccaet stuck on his fingers and have water coming outta it ROFL... gotta luv it!!!
