Sister all men should know how to cook, and bake. Mashed potatoes, gravy, jellied cranberries fresh corn I'll do tomorrow.

If you remember I use to work in restaurants, so I'd better know how to bake and cook. Yes I've done all the work, Lizzie worked today or she would have helped me.

Happy Thanksgiving

Everyone!

I will be praying that everyone has a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving. For those of you who are driving somewhere, please take the extra time to be safe. It's unfortunate that many will be drinking and driving. We don't drink, so we will be watching for others. Our little trip will be only 50 miles, but we plan to give ourselves plenty of time and be careful.

We will have a family gathering of about 50 people on a farm. Our highest priority will be to honor and Thank GOD.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable GIFT, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour Forever!

I agree with DW that all should know how to cook. If you're single ya still gotta eat and if you're not single it sometimes is necessary to have to help or to even take care of the wife and children. Some of the best times that a husband and wife can spend together is when they are helping each other in their daily tasks. It is the same in a wife helping her husband in doing his daily tasks. After all a wife is to be a help mate not a slave.

I pray that you all have a very happy, safe and wonderful Thanksgiving in the Lord today.

We had a wonderful time together in the Lord. Lots of pies left over though so there's plenty here for all that may want some.

Out of the pies I made, there only 3 pieces left. Though the kids had a great time with the pies. For a few minutes it looked like the forum here. No I didn't mind to much, in fact I was laughing. ;D ;D ;D

They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-haaa!

Remember when you ran away
And I got on my knees
And begged you not to leave
Because I'd go berserk?
Well. . .

You left me anyhow
And then the days got worse and worse
And now you see I've gone
Completely out of my mind
And. . .

They're coming to take me away, HA HA
They're coming to take me away, HO HO HEE HEE HA HA
To the funny farm
Where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see
Those nice, young men
In their clean, white coats
And they're coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!

You thought it was a joke
And so you laughed
You laughed when I had said
That losing you would make me flip my lid
Right. . .

You know you laughed, I heard you laugh
You laughed, you laughed and laughed
And then you left
But now you know I'm utterly mad!
And. . .

They're coming to take me away, HA HA
They're coming to take me away, HO HO HEE HEE HA HA
To the happy home
With trees and flowers and chirping birds
And basket weavers who sit and smile
And twiddle their thumbs and toes
And they're coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!

I cooked your food
I cleaned your house
And this is how you pay me back
For all my kind, unselfish loving deeds?!!
Hah. . .

Well you just wait
They'll find you yet
And when they do they'll
Put you in the ASPCA, you mangy mutt!
And. . .

They're coming to take me away, HA HA
They're coming to take me away, HO HO HEE HEE HA HA
To the funny farm
Where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see
Those nice, young men
In their clean, white coats
And they're coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!

To the happy home
With trees and flowers and chirping birds
And basket weavers who sit and smile
And twiddle their thumbs and toes
And they're coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!

The step grandchildren don't have much to do with us. They are usually too busy with their parents and grandparents but yes we still have a great family time when we get together. My youngest son is in Army training right now at Ft Leonard Wood but we had all the rest together yesterday. He gets to come home at Christmas time and we all will be together then. I'm looking forward to it.

It's fully understandable. They were in their teens before they became a part of the family so their emotional ties are elsewhere. They do see us once in awhile and do give us hugs when they do. They're both really good kids.

I was talking to my son by cell texting. He misses the meals. He said the turkey would have tasted better there if it were scorched and the sweet potatoes tasted like old stale carrots. I told him "Come on now, Military food is good .... good for making one appreciate home cooking." He has already put in his Christmas meal request. Dad's turkey, Dad's pies, Dad's homemade dinner rolls and Mom's candied sweet taters.

i'm on morphine sulfate (40mg) for the pain sister, and like you a host of other drugs. Though I don't always take it like I should. As far as dilaudid, I've built a tolerance to it. Which is why, I take the morphine. :-\

ROFl.. I take it u only power up when absolutley neccesary eh? hehe.. and i agree with DW,, we have ben waiting. with baited breath i will add.. to see when and If you were gonna make it!!! hehe..

as for teh tolerance for it.. thats part of the issue.. its not helping anymore and further more.. its starting to destroy teh pain sensors in my brain.. and if that happens there will be no controling the pain at all! sooo.. that wouldnt be good..
I was under the knowledge  that you couldnt take morphine for any amount of extended time?? isnt it dangerous ? of course what narcotic aint dangerous in some way or another..
Know something.. when I was still married.. adn was diagnosed with this  and the chronic fatigue and teh sister disease etc.. my Ex mother- in law told me to my face that since the children of Isreal only had problems when there sin in the camp.. that I'd better check my life cause there had to be sin in my life and this was my punishment from God..
Can u amagine.. talk about someone loosing thier temper.. about that time i culd have had sin LOL sin of loossing it ROYALLY and it wasnt a righteoous indignation eitehr lol it was plain and simply RAGE!!
some people.. i dunno.. funny tho,. when she or her husband got sick at any time.. then for them it was being pursecuted for Christ..
BLAHH i say!! lol..
anyways..
I have to get off for about an hour, my parents are gonna be here for a quick visit.. but I shall be bacl!! try not to miss me to much!! LOL

Hello TigerLily and All!

;D  I am back, but I think that I have some sort of cold or virus. OR, I could be just worn out. I don't know yet.

We had a GREAT time. Our youngest grandson is also sick with something, but the grandmas and great-grandmas said it was probably just teething. He does have two teeth that just came in on the bottom. Oh! - I almost forgot to mention that the grandmas and great-grandmas are IN CHARGE! If you don't believe this, just ASK THEM.   ;D

Regardless, we had a wonderful time in the LORD. One of my favorite things this year was listening to the 4 year old and the 6 year old recite their Bible Memory Verses. I'm very happy that my 6 year old learned how to read with the Bible. There are also a variety of excellent Christian materials for his age group, and he told us some of those stories - mainly about Bible characters and JESUS (i.e. Noah, Moses, Sampson, etc.). I must brag just a little bit and say that his stories were pretty accurate.

I give thanks for a wonderful time, and I hope that everyone had a great time. I'm trying to catch up on some reading now. So far, it sounds like everyone had a great time.

I'll go ahead and confess the one bad thing I did. If you're thinking about a pie fight - NO, we ate them all.

I've been a Baaaaaad Boy and I ate too much.

For those of you who don't remember, that part of an old Abbott and Costello line.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Ephesians 5:19-20 NASB
speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;

Hello PK,

I tried one called Neurotonin. It did help for a time and stopped doing anything at all. AND, it doesn't work at all from the start for some people. Everyone has a different body chemistry, and I guess that's one reason why they have so many medications for the same thing. Some folks also build up a tolerance for some kinds of medication, so taking it every day isn't an option.

There's always the rubber mallet option that nearly always works, and it comes in various strengths (i.e. 5 pound, 10 pound, and 15 pound for extreme cases.) It just involves a swift tap right between the eyes. The only reports side effects are headaches and blurred vision, but that usually only lasts a short period of time.   ;D

The only thing I haven't tried is electric shock. That's pretty expensive, and it only works for some people, so I might just try the electric socket at home.   ;D  What some of us really need is a back transplant. I'm holding out for a cheetah's back. My wife doesn't think this sounds funny. YES - I'm kidding, but I did talk to my surgeon about this, and he DID think it was funny. He said that he would investigate techniques and I could be his first. Mine would be less complicated since I want the legs, paws, head, teeth, and all.   ;D     YES - I know - call the white coats and carry me off.

Eating to much is something that generally happens at hoildays like that lol ! and yep.. I remember that line.. I have a few of thier movies.. HYSTERICAL!! love it.. I have ona about going to africa.. and my favorite part is they are sitting eating and this giant gorilla comes along and the only one to see him is the short funny one (i get thier names mixed up) and he is trying to tell the rest about it and he's trying to do it without scaring them so he is trying to eat at same time.. Hello Grammyluv,

I'll just give thanks that I have some real sweethearts for bosses. My mother is 86 years old, and she's one of the sweetest Christians I know. I'm keeping her and will follow her orders. I also do what my wife says - just not as quickly.   ;D

;D   YES - In fact, I refuse to have a back transplant unless it's a cheetah. If I'm going to go through something that major, I want to be able to run 60 mph after the surgery.   ;D

Reference the medication I mentioned, many doctors have samples that they can let you try to see if it works. You would have to follow the strict instructions of the doctor since more harsh medications are already involved. It isn't an option in many cases.

I remember the episode of Abbott and Costello that you talked about. That was one of my favorites. I think that Costello was the short one if I remember right. Abbott was what they used to call a "straight man" in comedy acts of long ago. Having a good "straight man" made the comedy routines twice as funny. There's a cable channel called "TVLand" that still runs a lot of the old shows from time to time. My older favorites were The Three Stooges, Abbott and Costello, The Little Rascals, Laurel and Hardy, and the old cartoons when I need a laugh. YES - the secret is out - I still watch old cartoons.   ;D

yeah I love them old shows.. that channel and Deja View.. lol my favorites I was born in the wrong time LOL..

My medications, (about 7 different kinds sadly) I am so hoping this works for me cause i awant off narcotis.. the addictiveness and the damage its doing to me (pain sensors and stomache..) but if these new ones dont work.. then I wont have a choice, I cant  go a day without pain killers.. I tried.. went about 2 days and nearly lost my mind.. it was absolutely WAYYYYY more pain then I could bear.. I spent the time praying and beggin God to help me and crying etc..
I am off for about an hour .. oldest son "nathaniel" is getting on the puter for a bit.. then when I get back on.. I will be going on a posting storm LOL or will try lol" hoping ya'll are online when I get back.."
luv and hugs

Hello TigerLily,

Sister, I think that we sometimes just have to do exactly what the doctor tells us to do, regardless of what we want to do. We can try other things or even a different doctor, but there's usually a price to pay for not following the doctor's orders. I found that out the hard way several times, so I just do the best I can to follow his orders. I give thanks to have an excellent doctor. I'm positive that GOD used my doctor twice to save my life, so I'll just give thanks. I've asked my doctor about stopping various medications several times, and he basically told me that I didn't have many choices and still have any quality of life. That's enough of the doom and gloom stuff for me. I'm really a very happy person, and I want to be of use to GOD until HE comes to take us home.

I'll have to look and see if I have Deja View. I haven't heard of that one. I don't watch a lot of television anyway. I watch the news mainly, but I do like to watch some old shows from time to time and The Animal Planet. The Animal Planet is where I got the idea for a Cheetah back transplant.   ;D

Hello PK,

I have that picture of the kitten and really enjoy it. I really enjoy pictures and shows about animals, so Animal Planet is one of my favorite channels when I watch TV. In fact, I have a faithful little dog almost resting on my arm right now. He's 16 years old, and he used to meet me at the door night or day when I was working shift work on the police department. I recently lost his older partner to cancer, so he's alone with just humans. He doesn't think that he's a dog anyway.   ;)

I do collect pictures of animals, especially puppies and kittens, so I'll share a few kitten pictures with you. I had almost forgotten that you mainly like cats. I mainly like dogs as pets, but I do enjoy pictures and shows about cats.

;D  Brother, he really looks a lot like my little dog, but my old man is all brown and gray. My poor little dog works three shifts every day:  1) Sleeping;  2) Eating;  3) And being petted. So, he's on duty constantly and never gets a day off.   ;D  Mine also does highly dangerous duty every day - undercover work. One might look at him right now and think that he's asleep, but he's actually involved in a covert operation. AND - trust me - he expects to be paid for all of his hazardous duty. For starters, he always gets to eat part of what we eat. His last trip to the Vet. indicates that he's in perfect health except for some senioritis problems.   ;D  He's either almost deaf or he has selective hearing. He also doesn't see very well. We plan to keep him happy and well as long as we can. I do have pictures of him, but I don't have a way to post them right now. He's a Heinze 57 Terrier mix, and he's been a wonderful companion. I'm almost sure that he's just over 16 years old

lol ... That sounds somewhat like my little one except he is younger so he doesn't have the senioritis problems yet except for an occasional hip problem from an injury he had as a pup. He is a little too good at sounding the alarm when someone is at the door also.

Pugs are cute especially when they are pups. They remind me of the cartoon depiction of the tough ole gangster of the 40's and 50's that turns and runs when a threat comes their way.
