08-05-2004 - blackeyedpeas - I had an infection in my spine in 1998 that was cured over a 6 month period of time, but the after effects have been an increasing pain and disability with the growth of calcium over a portion of my spine. Please pray for me that this infection does not come back. I grow weary of pain and loss of mobility. I feel that I'm a strong Christian, but I suffer from depression and anger at times. Please pray tha God gives me another measure of HIS Grace, patience, and strength to walk a path most pleasing to Him. I feel that God lead me to volunteer as moderator for Christians Unite, and I love the work, especially the sweet Christians who mean so much to me. I have reflected on my many failures, especially when I lost my temper. Please pray that God allows me to continue this work I love to do. Especially pray that God guides and directs me to perform this work in a way that would be most pleasing to HIM. I know that I need to yield completely to Christ in ALL things. My errors and failures give me the desire to do exactly this and let HIM direct all things in my life. If I am or become unfit to serve as moderator, I pray that God will direct me to withdraw. Regardless, I pray that God allows me the joy of Christian fellowship with the Brothers and Sisters in Christ on Christians Unite who I love so much.

06-30-2004 - Kris777 -  I've known Robert for about 18 years, and he recently got a divorce with children involved. We used to spend time with them and see drastic changes in Robert. Robert has a problem with ego and appears to be angry with God. Robert now makes rude comments about church and people who believe in God, yet he used to believe in God. Please pray for Robert and his family.
06-30-2004 - HungryforChrist - I work with a strong Jehovahs Witness and have experienced great difficulty in trying to witness to him.  Please pray that God will use me and give me wisdom. There appears to be a demonic wall between us and I pray for guidance in breaking it down.

05-31-2004 - DovesWings - My aunt's breast, spine, pelvis, etc. cancer was healed, but it is back in her bones. She is letting the Lord be the only healer and is in hospice. She fractured a bone recently and is in unbearable pain. The stress has caused my uncle to have a heart attack, but he has recovered. My aunt has refused treatment and believes that God will heal her. Please pray for her and the family.
05-27-2004 - guardedbyhim - Our service cat for my 10 year old autistic son is in peril. He uses her to communicate, and she has climbed a tree in the Pacific Northwest. Her name is faith, and she is cold, wet, and has been in the tree for over 24 hours. A tree logger is coming in the morning to attempt a rescue. Please keep our family in your prayers.
05-27-2004 - fastback - My business is failing and my wife's commission type job is not sufficient to pay mounting debts. Utilities are being cut off, and we are in danger of having our house and car repossessed. It's getting tough to hide from our 3 year old.  Please pray that I will find new clients and the banks will have mercy on us. Too many things are caving in right now with no place to turn.
05-27-2004 - colleen - My mother has been bitten by several ticks, the type that carry Limes and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. She has a rash that is getting larger, and she's seeing the doctor today. Please pray for her.
05-26-2004 - M.L. - My daughters ask about my scars and want to know why I can't run and play with them like other moms. I'm nervous, sick, and haven't been able to get out of bed much this week, but I've decided to use a lawyer and pursue charges on my ex. I'm depressed and really can't afford a lawyer, but I've been told that it will be OK. Please pray for me that I will hear God's voice, follow his leading in what to do, and deal with my girls in the most appropriate way.
05-25-2004 - His_child - My husband was laid off in March of 2003, and I went to work full time in October, still home schooling my daughters, 16 and 11. My husband has shown little interest in finding a job or home schooling. I feel that my husband is depressed and could use some prayers. I felt that God led me to home school, but it looks like I'll have to get a second job. I've prayed about this and feel the Lord is leading me to put the 11 year old in public school. My 16 year old has some disabilities and does not do well in a crowd, so I feel led to keep her at home. My husband is very much against this. Please pray that our lives will change drastically so that I don't need a second job, or that he will take over the home schooling, or that I have the strength to continue home schooling. We need the Lord to step in and show us His will, especially about putting the 11 year old in public school.

05-22-2004 - DovesWings - Please pray for my stepson, his brother, and his mom. The boys are in trouble with the law, she's a single mom of 2 boys (13 & 14), a daughter (9), and a daughter (2). They live in the North and we live in Florida. She won't send my husband's son to visit, probably because he can't leave the state on charges involving marijuana and stealing. The son is a very angry boy, and the mother is a good person really trying to cope. Please pray that the mother can find comfort in the Lord and deal with a situation that is really a mess.

Robert is hungry for knowledge of our Lord Jesus and has begun his walk with the Lord. His father is lost, empty, and has a hard shell around his heart. His step-dad grabbed him by the hair, threw him out of the room, and told him to go mow the law. The mower was broken and step dad told him to use a sling-blade on over an acre of grass. He mentioned church and step-dad began cursing and asking why he needed to go to church. He was going to be baptised. A long story short is he was kicked out of the house. He has a low paying job and is temporarily staying with friends from church. Please pray for my friend that he will make it emotionally and financially. Please pray for his step-dad.

He does not feel any support or love from his parents to succeed out on his own. He feels like he is a failure at everything, is an agnostic, and feels there is no reason to live. We've had our ups and downs, but I know that we still love each other. He left us about a week ago and said he found someone who makes him happy. In one breath he says it is God's plan, and in another he hopes that God will forgive him. He is struggling with trying to justify something that God will not: abandon family and commit adultery. I'm tired, hurting, and feel close to a nervous breakdown. Please pray for us and pray that my husband will listen to the Holy Spirit telling him he is wrong. My husband just won't listen.

Our friend has just begun to make these girls feel loved, but the court is thinking about giving the children back to their real mother who has not changed as far as we know. 04-07-2004 - makao - I am Josephat Kirutu (37) and my beautiful wife is Rosemay Josephat. We work for a tour company in Mwanza Tanzania and make about $83 US per month. We started taking orphans into our rental house about 5 years ago and currently care for 11 girls and 18 boys. Our food cost alone is $500 US each month, and we need additional help for clothes, toys, and other needs. Please pray for us that God will provide for our needs and let us love these children to help them forget what they've been through.

03-31-2004 - LMarsh - There is an illness involving vomitting and diarrhea going through my family, and my 8 month-old son is sick and having problems taking nourishment. My husband and 2 year old have also had it over a week. I've lost 10 pounds worrying and trying to take care of my family over the last several weeks. Please pray for me, my husband, and all four of our children that God will lift us up.
03-30-2004 - Allinall - My brother-in-law are working on a dream that I've had all my life. We are submitting a new comic idea to several syndications sometime this week. There is potential for this being our employment in the years to come. Please pray that our dreams all pan out.

03-23-2004 - Corpus -  "NAMPULA, Mozambique, MARCH 10, 2004 (Zenit.org).- The Comboni Sisters of Mozambique are making an appeal "to break the silence" surrounding the disappearance of children who are believed to be victims of organ traffickers." Government is attempting to discredit these Sisters and silence them in their effort to inform the world of these horrors. The Sisters are receiving death threats linked to uncovering an organ-trafficking network. The network kidnaps and kills children and youth for their organs.  Dozens of area children and youth have disappeared, and their organs were flown out at night. Please pray for guidance and continued courage and strength for these Sisters, and pray that God's will be done in stopping these horrors.
03-22-2004 - DovesWings - My cousin is pregnant with twins, is 21 weeks along, and is on total bedrest. Her son is doing great, but the daughter has blood in the placenta. Please pray that God will heal the little girl and that she will be born healthy. Also, my brother-in-law is not doing well, has issues and suicidal thoughts, and does NOT want the Lord in his life right now. Please pray that he comes around to WANT the Lord in his life.
03-18-2004 - twin_trip_mommy - My sister will be having a 3-4 hour long surgery on her back March 19th. This is something like her 17th operation, but it is still scary for her. She is a believer, so please pray that she stays calm and everything goes along as expected.

02-13-2004 - Paul2 -  I bought a Bible for a friend on Monday and wanted to highlight various important passages when a disk in my lower back slipped out. It seems that Satan wants to stop me in preparing the Bible I want to give to my blacksmith friend, Scott. The pain is unbearable, but I gritted my teeth and spent 6 hours preparing the Bible for Scott.  I had the same problem in 1998, and I went to the doctor. I've done construction work for over 20 years, and xrays indicate the spine of a 75 year old with chips, divits, and places where the bone was turned to powder. Right now, I'm miserable with pain, have to brace myself to stand only to fall on my face, I can't sleep, and I can hardly breathe when I move the wrong way. Please pray for me and pray that Scott will be led into a true saving faith in Jesus Christ.

I see some disagreement, and that's fine and healthy. Each is entitled to their own opinion, vote how they wish, and speak what they wish. Christians are allowed to vote, and we ARE to judge MOST DEFINITELY according to Biblical values and morals.

We are talking among ourselves, and we are allowed to do that, regardless of what some might want or say. We are also allowed to express our opinion, just like everyone else in this country. I choose to tell it like it is, and that's my right as an American and a Christian to do. If someone thinks it's name calling, that's fine, and I'll try to make sure that it is name calling to erase any doubt about my stance. I AM to judge the candidates, but I am not allowed to punish or sentence them. Christians still have free speech, so here it is - NAME CALLING DELUXE:

Kerry is a radical, left wing, liberal wacko who supports abortion, supports gay marriage, and doesn't have a clue what Biblical morals are. If he is elected, I fear that he will complete America turning its back on God. You can be sure that much more about Kerry will come out before the election.

I realize that George Bush is not the strongest Christian, but he is a Christian and he does try. I don't think anyone knows what Kerry thinks or believes. However, I feel pretty sure that he's not going to tell us, and his morals would be light years away from Bush, far on the opposite end of the spectrum.

There are others we could vote for, but I doubt they will do little more than split the vote. In reality, they don't have a chance, and either Kerry or Bush will be our next President. I don't have a problem at all in stating the blunt truth, and neither does my Pastor. In short, it's a no-brainer, we will be voting for Bush. My family, friends, and church family will NOT vote for anyone who supports abortions, supports gay marriage, or one who displays a void of Christian values.

If it's childish for a Christian to speak the blunt truth, then call me a child. Further, the ongoing distortions and blatant lies about George Bush are being brought to light by the day now. I see that for what it is, cheap political garbage. We haven't heard from George Bush yet, but we will. He will have to play the political game and tell it like it is to be elected.

Please let me repeat and expound upon something - Christians are allowed to have opinions, allowed to vote, and are allowed to speak still. We may lose those rights one day, but we still have them today. The devil wants everyone to have their say EXCEPT CHRISTIANS. Don't you know that Christians are to remain silent and let the devil take America without a fight???  NO!!! - I refuse and WILL MOST CERTAINLY EXERCISE MY RIGHTS!!! as long as I live.

I have no problem at all with Christians who feel differently. Do what you feel convicted to do, but PLEASE at least vote.

Christians are not immune from strokes, brain cancer, Alzheimer's, and a host of other illnesses that cripple or remove thinking. Many have to be watched 24/7. I give thanks that God used you to end 20 years of suffering. Now, I pray that this man will be drawn back into a close relationship with our Lord and Saviour.

I just wanted to add two cents worth here. Yes, Christians can suffer from depression, even though they have the greatest and most precious GIFT, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. It is just another illness.

I've heard some television evangelists say that illness means a person is not yielded or right with God. This is baloney, as all mankind will suffer from illness unless they are stillborn. Some have gone so far as to say that the need for glasses, hearing aids, etc. is also a sign that the person is not right with God. Well, the fall of man from Adam should tell all of us that no man is completely right with God, OR even close. The whole stage show about men being able to stop illness or physical death is complete baloney. Illness, in itself, is not a sin, but some sins do lead to illness (i.e. alcohol, dope, alternative lifestyles, etc.). Other than self-imposed illness, depression is just another illness showing the weakness of man and dependency on our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. This does not imply that Almighty God will heal us of all our afflictions. BUT, it does mean that Almighty God will help us deal with our afflictions during our short journey on this earth.

Yes, I am aware of those who would call depression and other illnesses a sin. Those who do are not free of pain, illness, and affliction, nor are any men. To me, it appears that they do little but proclaim self-righteousness and lie.

Brother, I had not heard this. I will double my prayers for you. This brought back many horrible memories about one of my duties in police work, telling families about the loss of a loved one. It also reminds me about a group I talked with numerous times "Parents of Murdered Children". It almost makes me cry every time I think about it. Strong emotions about a subject like this are simply human for anyone who has a heart.

I give thanks for you brother, especially that God has allowed you to keep a kind and loving heart.

That reminds me of the gift that retiring police officers used to get. It looked just like that, except the seat was white and fellow officers wrote little messages of endearment on it.    I was sad when I found out that I didn't get one, but they did a beautiful job on a shadow-box display for my mantle. I just might go back and demand a toilet seat also.

I'm sorry to be so late in answering your post. Many in my family are missionaries, and some have been to Honduras.

First, I would hope you have plans to deal effectively with a different language. It is a must to be able to communicate, either yourself or through an interpreter.

Second, you should expect some very difficult living conditions, depending on what portion of the country you go to. If you or someone in your party has the ability to help with basic sanitation and clean water, that will go a long way in gaining their trust and wanting to talk with you.

Third, be creative and study their needs for food, preparation of food, and basic problems in their survival. A study of native plants and animals that could be used for food would be great.

Communication in their language is a must, but written materials in their language would be wonderful. If they don't have reading skills and have never heard of Jesus, you should consider preparing for something like a Sunday school class at a very basic and primary level. If you don't have someone in your group who can communicate with them in writing or by speech, I wouldn't have a clue what to tell you. Communication must be solved first. The second problem might be their fear of you, what you might represent, and potential danger in hearing your message.

I would heavily suggest that you do your homework on the location you want to visit. You and your party might also be in danger. Try to pick a place of reasonable safety, but be prepared to take care of most medical treatment yourselves. Providing basic medical treatment to the people you wish to minister to is also a good way of gaining their trust. If they haven't heard about Jesus, it's also possible that they haven't heard about aspirin, bandages, various over the counter medications, salves, ointments, etc.

Please don't just rush off and go without the proper information, supplies, and plans. Numerous organizations can help you if you have a specific location, some idea of your budget, and a plan about what you want to do. This type of homework will help your party survive and increase the potential you will  be effective with the people you want to minister to. Don't forget about the health risks to your party from disease and other hazards you are sure to face.
