Hi, I was attracted to this post because I have a 17-year old daughter named Charity. To the subject at hand… I have a question: Could Paul have said what he said because charity is a direct RESULT of faith and hope?

Thank you all for a gracious greeting. I’ve explored this site far and wide, and even left a few posts. Hopefully I’ve not sounded like too much of a ‘maroon’. All in all – I believe the site is truly blessed with some wise folks. I feel sure God directed Google to find this site for me with a purpose in mind. Speaking of which – I’ll soon be posting a prayer request (as soon as I get up the nerve.) I’ve always felt selfish for asking for people to pray for me. My pastor has admonished me for my feelings and has encouraged me to NEVER be afraid or nervous about asking for prayer from others. So – watch the Prayer Requests folder. Again – in the name of our Lord Jesus – thank you so much for being here!

WOW! Are we EVER on different pages of the Bible! My morning reading included: Ecclesiastes 4:1-2 Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead more than the living which are yet alive. Yea, better is he than both they, which hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun. Night and Day! I like you guy's verses better!!! PS - Did you ever wonder if the "Preacher" who wrote Ecclesiastes was at a particularly 'somber' point in his life?

Seeker, Your sexuality is no more (or less) condemning than my sins. The difference? I’ve accepted the free gift from God called ‘grace’. It’s there for you – all you need to do is say ‘OK’. No one can accept the gift on your behalf – you have to accept it yourself. It’s a simple prayer – telling the Lord you believe He is who He says He is, and that you understand that by believing you will receive the gift of grace (forgiveness of your sins – ALL of your sins) and that you want that gift. Please, please, PLEASE! Just ask Him. Just believe. Just be saved.

I think "B.C." folks have their preferred resources just as we do. The thing I really see with what you term "Christian Technology" is that it allows the word of God to be spread further, faster - and anyone who studies prophesy just a little KNOWS what that means! (Praise Him!) Just this site for instance - we see folks like Judas join. Judas is one who is absolutely SCREAMING for the Word – he just doesn’t know it. I don’t think Judas would ever walk into a church or call a pastor – so this site uniquely fits the need he doesn’t know he has.

I'm a real fan of Hal Lindsey - I'll make sure I look for it my next trip to the bookstore. (Or maybe just loggon to his website and order it!) Thanks for the tip!

Theology / Apologetics / Re:Why was Jesus Baptized?

1. Jesus was Baptised as an example we should follow. 2. Whomever publicly proclaims Jesus is Lord... (Baptism is a way to publicly proclaim faith in Him). 3. It's just what us Baptists do.

Matt, I guarantee I've felt your pain. My advice - never, ever, EVER talk a woman into marrying you who doesn't really want to. Experience speaking here - now 21 years with a woman who didn't want to marry me in the first place - but I talked her into it. Bad mistake that I must live with.
This isn't the Godliest of answers - but one time Ann Landers said "Sometimes it is better to be loney than to wish you were."
Dude - life is short, eternity long. You may never feel pain as bad a you are feeling now - but it WILL pass. (Don't do anything "dumb". Think - "What would Jesus have me do?")

Men don't live as long as women. That means we don't have to be alone in old age (i.e. we die before our wives). That's say's something to me. I hate being lonely.

Ah, Judas, Sewer of discontent. It won’t work, here; though misery loves company, at this site I fear you will fail to find the company you seek. (Misery, that is.) Our smiling hearts, our love and our prayers are with you, however. Hang around - keep reading, keep commenting. We certainly welcome you. I will caution you, though, that what we have is contagious.
