466  Theology / Debate / Re:death penalty right or wrong? on: May 26, 2004, 01:09:29 AM
I the old testament it does say that if a person or animal kills a person then they must be put to death. I know that it is some where in Genesis I don't exactly know where though.

467  Prayer / Answered Prayer / Re:Nothing is too small for God!!! on: May 24, 2004, 06:21:56 PM
I found that God has a sence of humor.  Both my parents work and I have to take care of my sisters.  I go nutter at times.  I have to have everything on time and can't waste a minute. One day I yelled at my one sister for taking to long to get her stuff and get out of the school so that I could get my other sister and then fly to get my paper routes done.  My sister was upset and was crying, I was mean and I admitt it.  When I went home to start my paper route on time the papers weren't there.  They had a 2 hour delay.  After that I learned my lesson.  I slowly got better not careing about time and then recently my watch needs a battery that I need to get replaced so I have been not useing a watch lately.

Another time when I was driving from picking up my sister I prayed, please God let it rain a little while I am doing my route because it is hot.  Then when I was going to my second route it started to sprinkle.  I either said it out loud or in my mind, please make it rain a little more.  Then it started to pour just for about a minute.  All I could do is laugh.  It was enough to get me drenched and cooled off.

I remember taking a course like that Tibby.  In my group I had one person on the verge of tears, another one that was hack happy and me that just didn't know what I was looking for. I didn't like the smell of the cats. Ick.  Still waiting to grow a third eye from the chemicals. Bet you are glad that class is over.

The one of the wonderful things about God is if you sin and come to Him to be forgiven, He will forgive you.  What a great God we have!!
470  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Re:Scared on: April 14, 2004, 08:18:21 PM
Felix I know about stress, anxiety, overwhelment and depression.  I was once angery at God for things that went on in my life.  I too and going thru a hard time and I found that God wants your whole trust not just a part of it.  Things were hard for me until I gave Him my trust.  I don't know if I gave Him my whole trust yet because some times I still am afraid of my situation, but trusting God does help ALOT!  Things will seem stressful until you trust God and for me all the peace that I have didn't come right away.  I think that God sometimes works slowly to see how much you trust.  I used to not understand all the pain and suffering that we go thru, but in a way I understand alittle know (try not to dwell on it), but it is an understanding that I can't describe.
Just always think about God, what He has done and if you can help it don't think about the things that are going to happen tomorrow, you have enough stuff to worry about already (this is a summerized bible verse, it works).  After I went through my situation other things happened as well that would seem stressful to me in the pass, but now I don't worry about them as much.  Part of pain, suffer, anxiety and depression is learning to strengthen and learn compassion.  If you stayed in one spot then you wouldn't learn how to grow in faith, learn to fight the devil, and learn to help others.  I think alot of what we go through helps to more trust God and I believe as a result of our trials if we pass them we will be better molded into the way that God wants us to be.  Pass trials also makes God happy Smiley Hang in there.

473  Welcome / About You! / Re:Why did Christ say God loves mankind more than other spiritual creatures? on: March 21, 2004, 08:31:00 AM
......that all material things, including animate bodies, are made of sunlight and sunlight is the energy of God pulsating throughout the Universe.  If so, then how could Christ say to his disciples that God loves them more than sparrows? ............... But my question, my fellow Christians, is this: are we equal in God's eyes with all spirtual creatures, including animals and retarded children?  Or does He love us more, we sentient beings who so love him?

Genesis 1:26,27 " Then God said, " Let us make people in our image, to be life ourselves.  They will be masters over all life-the fish in the sea, the brids in the sky, and all the livestock, wild animals, and small animals. So God created people in his own image; God patterned them after himself; male and female he created them."

Genesis 1:28-30 "God blessed them and told them, " Multiply and fill the earth and subdue it.  Me masters over the fish and birds and all the animals" And God said, " Look! I have given you the seed-bearing plante throughtout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food. And I have given all the grasses and other green plants to the animals and brids for their food." And so it was.

God loves us more then the animals and we are ever special to Him! He loves all people the same doesn't matter if you are retarded or not, all the same.  He might favor people more.

......that all material things, including animate bodies, are made of sunlight and sunlight is the energy of God pulsating throughout the Universe.
erm.. Undecided Where did you get that? We aren't made of sunlight and God is more powerfull then the sun.

We are made of dust.

Genesis 2:7 "And the Lord God formed a man's body from the dust of the ground and breathed into it the breath of life. And the man became a living person."

The sun is used to control the day.

Genesis 1:16 " For God made two great lights, the sun and the moon, to shine down upon the earth.  The greater one, the sun, presides during the day; the lesser one, the moon, presides through the night."

Don't be sorry, we can all pray for you.  It helps if you have more people to pray it makes prayer stronger.  Good luck, I think in the end you will find that it turns out Ok.

478  Theology / General Theology / Re:Can you guys share your experience with me? on: February 22, 2004, 08:51:38 AM
Sounds to me that you might want to find a different church.  There are some that are more like "club" that exspect you to look and act a certain way and put themselves first before God.  Try to look around for another chruch or go to the other one.  Praising God is the first important thing. Second is that you need people to have good fellowship in.  Explore around.  Maybe if you want try the chruch again and if you still don't like it move on.  I think that, that is a big reason why some people don't want to be Christian is that God is perfect and there is no way that we can be the perfect representitives always.

Hope you find a church you like Smiley,
Your sister in Christ,
Kristen

Stephen.auty, you don't need to be physically baptized, that is an obedence thing, some people will disagree.  What you really not to do first is admit that you are a sinner and that you can't live without God in your life.  Ask God to come into you heart and fill you with the Holy Spirit.  I say that you know that God sent His only son Jesus to die for our sins.  And know that Jesus is God.  This is called the sinners prayer. Once you pray it and believe you are saved forever!

Bible verse about it: Romans 10:9 " That if thou shalt confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in thy heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

This is really, really, really important.  Baptizum is just obedience to God after you become saved.

Quote
Why would you hate that child enough to condemn her to an horrific life?

Are you not judgeing what it is to say what is and is not horrific?  We all suffer. So should I have been killed as a baby to save me from the trauma of this life?

Broken do you believe that it is our right to decide what child lives or dies?  Seeing that it seems that you support mercy killing do you believe that if an adult is suffering then another person has the right to end their suffering?

I believe that even though that person's life is different from ours what is abnormal for us is normal for them.  Can't we learn from the sick?  My friend had a 2 year old sister that died in June.  She suffered greatly. Do you believe that they should have euthenized her like a dog?  Where do you draw the line?  I can't remember what verse it is but at our church our pastor talked about our body and soul going hand and hand together so that is why I believe that a human is a human with a soul even if they are one cell or millions.  God made us in His own image and I believe that being as important as we are to God we should not reduce a baby killing down to a level to parellel that of a slautering of a pig.  I don't understand your justifications Broken and I never will.  It is God's call who lives or dies.
