Post by: Fewarechosen7F on January 24, 2004, 03:00:21 AM
My name is Anne.
This week my husband starts a new tuck driving job, owner/operator. And I have been deliverd from co-driver status.  :)

We live in Louisiana.
He has 6 adult children, and I have 5.
We have 13 grandchildren.

I look forward to studying with you all.

Hi and welcome!

Delivered from co-driver status... LOL!
Did you make runs with him? And won't it be lonely while he's gone? Or will it be a reprieve to have some time by yourself?  ;)

I spent many a good year in Louisiana. Before the boats, of course  ::).... Shreveport/Bossier City. Are you anywhere near there?

Again, welcome!

Thanks for the welcome.

It has to be real love to be married and living in a truck 24 hours a day.  ;) There is no place to hide in the tough and angry times.

But no, it will not be lonesome. We went from long haul to local. Where we were out for as much as 6 weeks before coming home, now Danny can make a round trip in one day.
That means he will sleep in a real bed every day, ;D and I do mean daytime.

We will be living in Shreveport.

Ooh! Shreveport! So much I do miss! I still have family and friends in and around that area! Actually, from Dallas to Princeton!   ;D
One of these days we'll get back that way if the Lord's willing, to visit everyone. Ok, now you've made me homesick!  ;)

No more OTR! That is wonderful! I wonder how long it will take for you guys to acclimate to 'real' hours! LOL!

When I was a kid, I thought the sleeper was the coolest thing! I used to want one so bad!  8) No, not anymore!

I still wish they wouldn't have brought in those boats!  >:(

It has to be real love to be married and living in a truck 24 hours a day.

ROFL!

Air Force brat huh?
Oh well. I'm an oil field brat myself.
But Danny is a trucking brat, and believe me, they are THE worst. I think they spared the rod and spoiled the child.  :-X

Regular hours won't take much getting used to. I know it sure is gonna beat sitting in the truck waiting to be told you have a load.

Yep, an AF brat! And right after he retired he went straight to oilfield during the 'boom' and then was a hot-shot driver... I loved to go on runs with him! Nothing beats stopping on the way back for a cheeseburger at 3 a.m.!  ;D

Now a 'trucking brat' is a new one on me! LOL! I guess it's too late to apply the rod?  ;)

Sounds like you'll adjust well and quickly! That's wonderful!

Hi, there, Anne!  I'm new here, too, but thought I'd say hi anyway.

I can sympathize with being in the close quarters of a truck all day for weeks on end.  We lived in a 21 (or so) foot travel trailer for a year and also worked together too...talk about togetherness...lol.  There were weeks at a time when we weren't even in different rooms for more than 30 minutes.  I must admit I'm glad we have separate jobs now; gives us a chance to miss one another a little.

Thanks for the welcome Tom, Brandi, and Alinall.

Tom I love dry black eyed peas and cornbread with onion!
 mmmmmm (savoring the flavor)

Alinall  :D  I just about swim in coffee too!

Brandi, like I said before. Workin' together 24/7 in so close quarters with no escape from tempers proves it,s love.

 Helo Allinall,

I was Practical. Found out I didn't like it.

There are. We have an 85 Pete.
My step-son wants to get into doing the new vinal covering that will eventually take the lace of paint. You have probably seen local delivery vans and company cars that have it in them?

I want the globe as seen from space stretched across the hood and cab, with the might sky as the background across the sleeper. Superimposed over the night sky, I want to show Yeshua watching over the world.

Bet that would be one of a kind!
