Title: 4 days from Israel
Post by: ChristopherStJames on December 13, 2005, 12:03:49 AM
On Saturday the 17th I may receive two tickets to Israel, from the Rusty Humphries radio show. I had to write an essay to explain why, and read it on the radio. Please take the time to read it. If you like it, click the link at the bottom and vote for me to send me there.

If you don't like it, just consider it only took you 60 seconds to read 300 words, and you haven't lost anything.

My essay follows:

What a great time we live in: free to speak our minds, write our opinions, and pursue our dreams. Under the guidance of our founding fathers we have combined ideas and methodologies to create the greatest blend of government and society on the earth. In this new millennium many of the institutions of freedom and love we cherish in America are under fire. The Christian-loathing, freedom-hating world has declared jihad on our society, and many of the violent offenders are not terrorist cells, but spoiled, complacent Americans.

In the wake of World War II many Americans have become self-haters; ashamed of our successes. A movement was born to oppose anything American, and eventually anything Christian. I was born into an even more advanced spoiled generation of Americans, the MTV generation. My male peers believe the purpose of life involves Porn, money, and the next episode of “Family Guy”. My female peers are occupied with finding the perfect lower back tattoo, and being “as powerful” as a man, as if their inherent powers are insignificant. Men want to marry men before god, my fellow citizens root for the enemy while we are at war, and the cashiers at Target are afraid to wish me a Merry Christmas.

America is not going to hell. It can be salvaged and it is my calling to promote and sustain sanity among my fellows. For this, I will need more than book-smarts.

I want to visit the holy land on a mission to establish a physical connection with the spiritual basis for my beliefs. I want to walk where Jesus walked, and see what he saw. I want to visit Bethlehem, Jerusalem, and set sail upon the Sea of Galilee. What better way to know the King of Kings? After walking the Via Dolorosa, I’ll ask for a fraction of Christ’s strength to complete my work.

Opinion in this country is hard to sway. Make an investment in the future of America, send me to Israel!

If you think I would make the best of this trip, help me get there.
I need votes at www.talk2rusty.com on the right side of the page under a heading "Rusty Asks" please click the radio button for Christopher St James, and you have done your part.

Thanks!
