I wasn't sure you said 5 yrs thats the reason for the question mark, I didn't take the time to look back. Even at 8 yrs I still would have tried to rescue it. A stoves lifespan is supposed to be set at 15 to 20 yrs so at 8 yrs it is worth getting it fixed is what I meant. With the the cost I probably would have done it myself also.

I guess I should have said other "things" 'cause that was what I meant.  What were you thinking? Wink Grin

PR,

Couldn't you have replaced the seal on your oven door, and the insulation around the oven box?

I could have but it was an old standing pilot light type stove probably as old as I am and beat up worse than I am so I didn't bother. Instead I eventually replaced it.

OK...............I guess I just might have to do it.  Have too much money into that thing not to do it, that is, if the harness doesn't change anything.  I sure hope it does, though.  I don't need this headache, nor do I need the rash I developed, either. Grin  I'm laughing, even though it isn't funny.

You said your stove is only fiver years old? I probably would have tried to rescue it myself.

It is a good point and one worth studying because Satan is also our enemy. Are we to love Satan?

I must admit I never been asked about it before and have never thought of this before to this depth.

I will have to get back on this one.

I would have to say no, not in all cases as we are told that God hates the unrepentant sinner (all workers of iniquity) yet Jesus tells us to not hate our enemies. And who exactly are our enemies?

Oh Boy! A smashing party. We can have a smashing good time.

Does that include the chocolate chip cookies that were baked in it?

If partially cooked cookies are smashable, then yes!  Since we'll be having a smashing party, bring some things.  I'm sure I can come up with some others too that have given me past headaches. Grin Grin

Let's make sure that it is inanimate objects only, now.  Wink Wink Grin Grin

Tornadoes Touch Down

DES MOINES -- Tornadoes have touched down in Woodward, Ames and Radcliffe Saturday afternoon.

A tornado warning has been issued for East Polk, Hardin and Jasper counties.

A Tornado Watch has been issued for the western two-thirds of Iowa until 9 p.m. Saturday.

The National Weather Service says scattered thunderstorms are expected to form near the Iowa-Nebraska border Saturday afternoon and move rapidly northeast at more than 50 mph. A few storms could produce wind gusts in excess of 60 mph.

There is a slight risk of tornados with these storms. The main threat will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A watch means conditions are right for the development of dangerous weather. Iowans should be on the lookout for severe weather and stay tuned to KCCI-TV and KCCI.com for the latest developments.

Tornado Damage There was a tornado touchdown in southeast Woodward and severe damage to the area. There are gas leaks have been reported in both Woodward and Stratford. Stratford is being evacuated. Residents are being asked to go to the fire-resuce building. There are minor reports of injuries.

Stadium Evacuated

The Jack Trice stadium was evacuated of fans before the Iowa State University football game.

It does sound like the heat in your oven is not evenl distributed. I had an old gas stove that cooked that way. I had to cook at a higher temp and to compensate for the edge getting more done than the center I had to put a strip of aluminum foil around the outer edge as you are supposed to do to pies to prevent the outer crust from getting to well done.

The problem that I had with that oven was the door did not seal properly when shut and the insulation around the oven box had fallen off causing cool spots in the oven.

The harness, especially the portion where the coils plug into it, could be a problem and causing your oven to have cool spots the same way.

Cris,

What is the difference between enemies and those that you say we should hate? If a person is evil and refuses the Lord because of that evil is not that person an enemy of ours also? We see in Mat 5:44 where Jesus tells us to love our enemies then in verse 44 He even goes on to talk about them being evil. This is not to say that we are to be friends with them as it is possible to have a love for a person that we do not even know. There is a difference also between being friendly and being friends. If we are good to those that are evil and continue to be evil then we are actually "heaping coals on their head".

Mat 5:43  Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
Mat 5:44  But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Mat 5:45  That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Mat 5:46  For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
Mat 5:47  And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

Pro 25:21  If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:
Pro 25:22  For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.

Sometimes it is necessary to be harsh in order to stop the devil from doing irrepairable damage.

58124  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re:ELECTRICITY----HELP on: November 12, 2005, 01:52:43 PM
Grin  Grin  I'm shocked that you would bring that up!

Just another electricity source, but I doubt it is very stable. To try it, Cris can simply climb a tree, hold a long rod up in the air, and have some romex going to the stove. Who knows - maybe you can cook a 20 pound turkey in 2 minutes. OR, one could impale the food on the rod and make a massive kabob!  Grin

Holding the rod would make a massive kabob also .....
