Title: Better Methods Or Better Men?
Post by: Amisk on December 28, 2006, 09:05:34 PM
"The church is looking for better methods. God is looking for better men. What the church needs today is not more machinery or better, not new organization or more novel methods, but men who the Holy Spirit can use, men of prayer. The Holy Spirit does not flow through methods but through men."  E.M. Bounds

Amen Amisk!

I agree with this completely. I think that all Christians are guilty of trying to use brain power instead of praying power on a fairly regular basis. We should also know that if GOD sends us, HE equips us for HIS purposes if we just pray for help and guidance. The answers many times don't involve great eloquence or knowledge, rather simplicity. I was just thinking about considerable material I've read from E.M. Bounds. He was a man of prayer who trusted GOD. Those are two great ingredients in any endeavor.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Matthew 6:30-33 NASB  "But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! "Do not worry then, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear for clothing?' "For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
