Title: who else is 20?
Post by: twinkledust007 on September 22, 2004, 07:23:49 PM
Just curious:  Is anyone out there about the same age as me?  I just turned 20 last March, and judging from some of the responses I've read to some of the other posts, some of y'all sound like you're way older me.  But that's ok.  I don't mind.

Yes, I am 20 as well! ;D I actually just turned 20 on the 15th.  So you're not alone in your age.  I've noticed also that some of the responces don't seem like their 20, but that's one reason I like it here.  It's nice to get advice from people who
usually know a lot more about life and about the Bible!

Well, next month I will celebrate the 27 annv. of my 20th birthday. ;D
;D

I'm 20, for 5 days, 22 hours and 16 minutes. (I haven't accomplished much yet as an official adult, but I did finally finish off the birthday cake and most of the candy.)

Next year I can buy alcohol!! Woohoo!  :P

Things I've learned over the past few years:

When you embarrass yourself, don't get too upset about it. It'll make a great story when you're ready to tell it - in fact, people are probably smiling about it right now.

I'm not the prettiest or the cleverest or even the plainest. There is always someone out there who exceeds me in something, usually in a lot of things.

Adults are way wiser than I thought they were, and if they seem simple, its probably a disguise for their complexity.

Be a good friend to someone else first. We don't have enough time on this earth to waste it all on ourselves.

The universe is absolutely enormous. Even bigger than my imagination. Way bigger.

Almost everything I know is superficial.

"Jesus loves me, this I know" is one of the most profound songs in the hymnal.

Someone is dying for their faith, losing a loved one, suffering some physical hardship at this moment. I have no right to complain, especially since I have no right to have what I already have.

"Joy is a subtil elf; I think man's happiest when he forgets himself." -Cyril Tourneur, The Revenger's Tragedy

Love. Love, love, and love, at every chance you get.

Be quiet.

Listen.

Smile.

Remember.

Rejoice; no matter what our circumstances are, God never changes, and He is always worthy of praise. We aren't "rewarding" Him for something good he's done in our life, we're giving what meager due He asks of us, not to pay Him for something, but just because He Is.

Don't ever assume you're better than someone else.

Never judge  fogeyness by sounds.  Some of us are fogey beyond our years.

Good, then we can have a good time 20 or not. Babes, fogeys, younguns, teeneyboppers, midlife crisisers, etc. all join in.

So very well said, Willow.

'Almost everything I know is superficial'.

Boy now there's a mouthful right there.

Be quiet.

Listen.

Smile.

Remember.

Rejoice....    :)

'Don't ever assume I'm better than someone else.'

Boy, just yesterday I went visiting.  The convalescent turned out to have many interests of my own, and to be articulate, insightful and aware, beyond anything I thought.

'Jesus loves me this I know...'

'Be a good friedn...'

'...forgetting self...'

  Thank you, Willowburch.

I'm 20!!! It's kind of an odd age!! You feel all grown up, and think like a woman, but you see there is still see that there are some things that you still can't quite do on your own!!! LOL

Remember, age brings wisdom.

Most of the time.

You have to make sure that at 50 you've acquired 50 years of wisdom, not 1 years wisdom 50 times.

I know - for sure I don't have 52 years worth of wisdom.
