Title: Hi! I'm new here.
Post by: storm_wolf414 on April 17, 2005, 08:50:41 AM
Hello everyone!I'm new so I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Toni.I am a 34 year old married mother of three.I am disabled.I enjoy various paper crafts, listening to music, reading, cooking and baking.I also love just sitting quietly in the presence of God and listening to natures music.I am recently studying meteorology for no good reason besides the fact that it interests me.I'm a stay at home mom due to the fact that I'm disabled, but I see it as I am right where He wants me.I've been a Christian since February 18th, 2001...which ironically is the same day my favorite Nascar driver was killed.Does He know when we'll need Him or what? And my goal in life is to just make it from one day to the next...watching my children grow.

I am also disabled. I am married with four children and a foster daughter - three dogs, a guinnea pig, two cats and some fish!  :P

Toni,

What area of meteorology are you studying?   Just meteo in general, or are you focusing in on one aspect of it?

My main interest is severe weather forecasting and tornado genesis.   I'm no expert on it, but I do find it highly fascinating.   A few members here know that I spend a lot of time out on the great Plains this time of year storm chasing.   Its something that me and my wife enjoy quite a bit.

Oh, and before the man floating in coffee pipes up...just ignore him  :D  (just kidding Kevin...lol)

Grace and Peace!

You should get him to take you to a local Skywarn class.   There are usually a bunch of those going on this time of year.   Its free, and it might spure some interest.    Lots of good info too.    The talks are specialized on storm scale features moreso than synoptic weather, but its a good place to start.

It seems there were already a few classes in your state.

PA  04-14-2005  7:00 pm  Blair  Altoona  Altoona Red Cross

Granted, it may not be tornado alley, but storm do happen just about everywhere.   For location, no doubt the plains is the place to be though.

Sorry to hear this.   Is He not saved?

Go to any web site, or use your own photos from your computer. Right click onto the photo you want and click on "properties" - a box will open. Hilite the  URL (Address).
Next, paste that URL on your post hilite it. Now go to the toolbar (above the smilies) and click "insert hyperlink" (the globe icon)

Now hit "post"
Your done!  :D

Ok, I don't see a URL when I open the properties for a picture...is it like the location or something? I have XP, maybe that's my problem.

Tim, you didn't run me off...

Glad to hear it!    :)  Its difficult enough communicating in person much less via text forum.  The tone of ones voice gets lost in the translation many times.

When your right click on an image and select properties it doesn't show you the address url somewhere on the pop up menu?   Thats odd  ???

Hey Tim...guess what! I learned how to add a picture to my signature. ;D I'm living proof you can teach an old dog new tricks. I just can't figure out the URLs for my pictures in my computer...yet. ;) As a matter of fact, I don't understand what most of these buttons on this message board do yet. But, in good time.

Awesome!

Actually, you can't post pictures that are stored on your computer.   I'm affraid they must be posted somewhere on the web in order to show in one of your posts.

You can however, sign up for a free pic server like photobucket.com, upload some images there and then post them here.

As for the buttons up top, you just have to practise using those.....you can test what they do by started a new post then hit the preview button to see what effect they have.   The best way to do this is highlight the text you want to effect, then click on one of those buttons then preview.   If you don't like the result just erase the code

[ whatever it did ] your text here [ /end of whatever it did ] and start again.

You'll get the hang of it!

Grace and Peace!

Yes I do. It's been a lot of help because I just save the URLs to my pictures in my notepad and copy them to the post.
