Title: Kerry Endorsers
Post by: sincereheart on October 29, 2004, 08:19:31 AM
There have been MANY debates over the election. There have been many links provided. For every link FOR there is a link AGAINST. So our unbiased  ::) media isn't so unbiased. But I do find it interesting to note who actually does endorse Kerry. And no, this isn't a scientific study. Just some thoughts:

Planned Parenthood endorses Kerry:
Quote
The Planned Parenthood Action Fund endorsed John Kerry for President on April 23, 2004. The announcement marked the first time in the history of the non-partisan, independent Planned Parenthood Action Fund that it had endorsed a candidate in a Presidential race. For more information on the Planned Parenthood Action Fund and Planned Parenthood's political programs, go to http://www.plannedparenthoodvotes.org

"Rock Stars" endorse Kerry:

"If you're listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you're a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we're morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal." ~Alice Cooper
Ok, that was just funny!  :-X

Vote For Change artists were brought together by a single idea - the need to make a change in the direction of our country at the federal, state and local levels. The artist coalition includes Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, Bonnie Raitt, Bright Eyes, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Dave Matthews Band, Death Cab For Cutie, Dixie Chicks, Jackson Browne, James Taylor, John Fogerty, John Mellencamp, Jurassic 5, Keb' Mo', Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, Pearl Jam, R.E.M., and My Morning Jacket.

I think most everyone knows that the Clintons support Kerry:http://robots.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/07/26/dems.clinton/ (http://robots.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/07/26/dems.clinton/)

BOSTON, Massachusetts (CNN) -- Bill and Hillary Clinton, the pre-eminent power couple in Democratic circles, took center stage Monday night at the Democratic National Convention as they appealed to the party faithful to rally behind John Kerry.

And Ted Kennedy:

January 22, 2003 (Columbia) - Today, upon hearing the news that liberal United States United States Senator Ted Kennedy had endorsed fellow liberal Senator John Kerry this morning, Katon Dawson, Chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party issued the following statement:

"Maybe it's just me, but I think Palmetto State voters don't have a whole lot in common with Teddy Kennedy's liberal northeastern politics and never will.  This endorsement illustrates just how far to the left John Kerry and the rest of the Democrats will go to get their Party's nomination."

Kerry, who formally launched his campaign last month, said in a written statement, ''Ted Kennedy's support is incredibly important and meaningful as I begin this campaign. It's humbling and gratifying to have his support as a friend and colleague.''

Dianne Feinstein endorses Kerry:

California senior Senator Dianne Feinstein has announced she's supporting Kerry. She's one of two senators to endorse Kerry so far. The other is his Massachusetts colleague, Ted Kennedy.

Of course the homosexual community is against Bush; but they're not wholeheartedly in support of Kerry - just his running mate.

On the other side of the 2004 presidential campaign, Sen. John Kerry said that he is for civil unions, but not same-sex marriage.

The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Policy Institute released today the first comprehensive analysis of the six most frequently mentioned prospective Democratic vice presidential candidates on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues.
The report is based on an analysis of the voting records and public statements of the prospective candidates in 13 key issue areas, including: sexual orientation and gender identity nondiscrimination laws; HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment; lifting the military's ban on openly gay and lesbian servicemembers; marriage equality for same-sex couples; and, education policy that supports the right of LGBT youth to attend school in a safe and affirming environment.
According to the report, the most supportive prospective VP candidate is Representative Dick Gephardt, who has taken supportive positions on 11 of the 13 issue areas (and unclear in 1 area, and opposed in 1 area). He is followed by: Senator John Edwards (supportive in 9, unclear in 3, opposed in 1),

But Kerry wants their vote:

by John Kerry
April 30, 2004
As we enter the season of celebrating Pride in the LGBT community, Americans should embrace the diversity that makes our nation strong and recommit ourselves to ensuring that all Americans receive equal rights.

I am proud to have fought for equal rights for gay Americans, but unfortunately, so much still remains to be done. I am committed to using the power of the White House to advance equal rights for all Americans, including gay Americans. Together, we can help America keep her promise of liberty and justice for all.

I hear a lot of people say they're against Bush because of the war so they'll vote for Kerry. But:

Kerry Voted For Authorization To Use Force In Iraq. (H.J. Res. 114, CQ Vote #237: Passed 77-23: R 48-1; D 29-21; I 0-1, 10/11/02, Kerry Voted Yea.)

In First Dem Debate, Kerry Strongly Supported President’s Action In Iraq.
KERRY: “George, I said at the time I would have preferred if we had given diplomacy a greater opportunity, but I think it was the right decision to disarm Saddam Hussein, and when the President made the decision, I supported him, and I support the fact that we did disarm him.” (ABC News, Democrat Presidential Candidate Debate, Columbia, SC, 5/4/03)

Kerry Later Claimed He Voted “To Threaten” Use Of Force In Iraq.
“I voted to threaten the use of force to make Saddam Hussein comply with the resolutions of the United Nations.” (Sen. John Kerry, Remarks At Announcement Of Presidential Candidacy, Mount Pleasant, SC, 9/2/03)

Now, Kerry Says He Is Anti-War Candidate.
CHRIS MATTHEWS: “Do you think you belong to that category of candidates who more or less are unhappy with this war, the way it’s been fought, along with General Clark, along with Howard Dean and not necessarily in companionship politically on the issue of the war with people like Lieberman, Edwards and Gephardt? Are you one of the anti-war candidates?” KERRY: “I am -- Yes, in the sense that I don’t believe the president took us to war as he should have, yes, absolutely.” (MSNBC’s “Hardball,” 1/6/04)

You forgot a few......

Yassir Arafat supports Kerry

Kim Jong Il supports Kerry

Fidel Castro supports Kerry

former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad supports
Kerry (Mahathir is an anit-semitic. This year, he urged U.S.
Muslims to vote for Kerry "in the name of Islam".)

And there are others. I find it interesting that all of these are either socialists/communists or terrorists and all are or have been enemies of the U.S. that have a desire to see us go their way.

Politics:
When John Kerry claimed "foreign leaders" preferred him to President Bush, we could only scratch our heads. But now we're getting the picture.

At a Hollywood, Fla., fund-raiser last March, Kerry told supporters foreign leaders were virtually lining up to back him. "I've met foreign leaders who can't go out and say this publicly, but boy, they look at you and say, 'You have got to win this; you have got to beat this guy; we need a new policy.' Things like that."

When pressed, Kerry said he had "no obligation" to reveal their names. Well, maybe it's the closeness of the polls, but finally many of those "foreign leaders" are stepping forward. It's quite a group.

Just Thursday, Palestinian Authority leader and sometime terrorist Yasser Arafat endorsed Kerry. Why? Kerry did once call him a "statesman." And, as his foreign minister noted, under Kerry "several staff members during Clinton's administration would return."

Kerry has also won praise from Kim Jong Il, North Korea's totalitarian dictator, who has murdered millions of his own people. Kim calls Bush "human scum." But he likes Kerry's support of two-way talks between North Korea and the U.S. -- which would give the "beloved leader" a big negotiating advantage.

Then there's Fidel Castro -- another communist tyrant smitten with the Massachusetts senator. While Kerry delivered his acceptance speech at the Democratic convention, Castro celebrated by running a bootlegged copy of "Fahrenheit 9/11" over Cuban TV.

Don't forget former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad. Last year, Mahathir, who is often called "moderate," said Jews "rule this world by proxy." This year, he urged U.S. Muslims to vote for Kerry "in the name of Islam."

We all know, of course, whom President Jacques Chirac of France and Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder of Germany prefer. Polls show Bush is overwhelmingly unpopular in those countries. And neither man has made a secret of his contempt for the cowboy from Texas.

How about Bush? He gets foreign support, too. But big difference.

Russia's Vladimir Putin, for one, thinks Bush will be a bulwark in the global war on terror. Japan's ruling party, the LDP, also backs the president; Kerry's stance on North Korea terrifies the LDP.

Among Israelis, Bush is wildly popular. Kuwaitis see him as president of the world, not just the U.S. And don't forget the 30 nations in the Coalition of the Willing in Iraq.

Yes, we'll admit to skepticism when Kerry first touted his foreign support. But no more. Many "leaders" indeed support him. It's just that most of them seem to be nondemocrats and anti-U.S. cranks.

We go back to an old saying: You'll be known by the friends you make and the company you keep. If so, Kerry's in big trouble. And if he wins, so are we."

Is it just me, or does it seem awful odd that the enemies of the US want the guy in office with his finger on the button who is less likely to push it without their approval?  How stupid can we be?  Come on!  Of course they want Kerry!  He won't oppose them!  He won't stop them.  He'll wait for the diplomatic solution that the UN says he can have.

Oh well.  I'm gettin' all worked up here on this soapbox.  Which leads me to a serious question: why the soapbox?  Why not a stage, or podium?  Why not simply just "the floor?"  Why does it have to be a soapbox?  Has anyone ever seen a soapbox that was bigger than the bar they buy?  I haven't!  So why the soapbox?

Ok.  I'm done obsessing.   ;D

Obsess on!!!  ;D

My turn.

In his latest video, OBL warns "each state" in the US that they will pay dearly for any vote for Bush. Reminds me of Santa Ana.

The line is drawn in the sand.

Remember the Alamo!  Remember Goliad!!  Remember San Jacinto!!!

YAA-HOOOOOO!!!!!

Unfortunately, if Kerry does win today, OBL will indeed view it as a victory of sorts.

Today should be a day of prayer and voting for all Christians.   Pray the vote!

Grace and Peace!

Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf Calls On DNC To Stop Fraudulent Phone Calls Claiming He Has Endorsed Senator Kerry

TAMPA, FL – Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf today issued the following statement:

"The Democratic National Committee is making fraudulent phone calls claiming that I have endorsed Senator Kerry.  Nothing could be further from the truth, and I demand that they stop immediately.

"Senator Kerry opposed the Reagan defense build-up that won the Cold War.  Senator Kerry opposed the removal of Saddam Hussein from Kuwait.  Senator Kerry proposed billions in intelligence cuts after the first attack on the World Trade Center.  Senator Kerry voted against funds to equip our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan with supplies like body armor and ammunition.

"I am supporting President Bush for reelection, because he is the candidate who has demonstrated the conviction needed to defeat terrorism.  In contrast to the President's steadfast determination to defeat our enemies, Senator Kerry has a record of weakness that gives me no confidence in his ability to fight and win the War on Terror.  His attempt to make up for these deficiencies by falsifying my endorsement only confirms my impression that he is not the man we need to lead our nation."
