I wonder how much of the world actually knows and understands this. I also wonder if the world knows this land belonged to Israel in the first place. The biggest question is, "Does the world know this land belongs to GOD?" Do they know that JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF is the Anointed KING of Israel, and HE will NOT be denied HIS Throne and Kingdom?

Love In Christ,
Tom

Revelation 11:13-19 NASB
And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell; seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven. The second woe is past; behold, the third woe is coming quickly. Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever." And the twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying, "We give You thanks, O Lord God, the Almighty, who are and who were, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign. "And the nations were enraged, and Your wrath came, and the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to reward Your bond-servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth." And the temple of God which is in heaven was opened; and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple, and there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder and an earthquake and a great hailstorm.

Devilish debate on end for Church of England
Thu Jan 10, 7:14 AM

LONDON (AFP) - Eyebrows were raised in the House of Commons on Thursday when a motion calling for the Church of England to be disestablished was listed with the number 666, symbol of the AntiChrist.

"This number is supposed to be the mark of the Devil. It looks as though God or the Devil have been moving in mysterious ways," said Bob Russell, a Liberal Democrat MP among those proposing the motion for debate.

"What is even stranger is that this motion was tabled last night when MPs were debating blasphemy," he added.

The motion calls for an end to the formal link between Church and State in England -- embodied in the monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, who is both head of state and head of the Church of England.

The number 666 is referred to in the Book of Revelations in the Bible: "Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred, three score and six."

"It is is incredible that a motion like this should have, by chance, acquired this significant number," said Russell.

Under the rules of the House of Commons the motion by backbenchers has little chance of actually being debated in parliament.

"The Only God"

“But what about you?” He asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Christ.” Mark 8:29 (NIV)

People can be attracted to many things. These things can become like gods to us. They may be people, ideas, or goods that are used everyday. They are things in which young people, especially, place their trust, or invest their time and money.

In our modern day, technology is a powerful god. It controls every facet of our lives. It makes our lives livable. We can know what the weather will be many days in advance. We can communicate from anywhere to anywhere at anytime. The world has shrunk into a global village. The computer has revolutionized our everyday work and greatly impacted our lives. We tend to believe everything the computer puts before us.

Young people use computers as recreation. Video games, music, films, and all kinds of information can be found on them. To some extent, they occupy a large majority of their time and consume much of their energy and concentration. It is a god for them. This god applies its rules to them, and they become addicted to it. The god of technology shows itself as the solution for everything in life. But the God of Jesus Christ, that God who is our Father, is ranked as outside of its scope.

Football, basketball, and movies raise some stars to the level of gods. Young people swallow whatever they say and offer. Their glamorous lives are taken as models for living. Their clothes are quickly received as new fashions. Young people mimic what and who attracts them. They adore these fashion stars.

Our God, the Father of Jesus Christ, is the only true God. He is not like the gods of this earth who come out of human minds and human hands. He is the One who has been from the beginning and will be into eternity. He is the Creator of heaven and earth and has provided a Savior through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Sarkozy seen as backing Blair for top EU job
09.01.2008 - 09:28 CET | By Elitsa Vucheva
Former UK prime minister Tony Blair will attend a conference of French president Nicolas Sarkozy's centre-right party UMP on Saturday (12 January), in what is said to be his first intervention for a party other than his own.

The move is fuelling speculation that Mr Blair, who belongs to the UK's center-left Labour party, is in the running for EU president – a new high-profile job that can be held for up to five years starting in 2009.

The two men will debate Europe and Mr Blair may get clear backing from Mr Sarkozy in exchange of his participation at the conference, according to media reports.

The UMP meeting marks the launch of its pre-electoral campaign before the municipal elections in France on 9 and 16 March – but there is set to be much speculation around Mr Blair's attendance.

The president of the socialist group in the French national assembly, Jean-Marc Ayrault, has accused Mr Sarkozy of preparing the ground for Mr Blair's candidacy for the EU top job with Saturday's event.

"I see something emerging from the UMP's side and from the president of the republic (…), which is preparing Tony Blair's candidacy for EU president", Mr Ayrault was reported as saying by French news agency AFP on Tuesday (8 January).

"This candidacy is not acceptable, because it is not acceptable that the first EU president is a man who supported and participated in the war in Iraq", he added.

Other politicians who have already expressed interest in what is to set to be one of the EU's top jobs include Luxembourg's prime minister Jean-Claude Juncker and his Irish counterpart Bertie Ahern.

Two more positions are also up for grabs next year – president of the European Commission and EU foreign minister.

Haggling over the nominations for the post is set to start in earnest in the second half of this year when France takes over the EU presidency.

A little more about my trip yesterday.

We went to see our youngest son graduate from AIT at Fort Leonard Wood and then to bring him home to his reserve unit. It was a wonderful time and a really great graduation ceremony. We got there early. It was being held in one of the bases Chapels. We saw a group of those graduating, while waiting for family and friends to arrive, gathered together in the hallway just outside the main auditorium in a circle arms entwined and bowed in prayer thanking God for His guidance and aid in seeing them through and in preparing them for what may lay ahead of them asking for His continued guidance and grace. Not to brag too much, but my son did lead that prayer.

During the ceremony one of the base Chaplains also offered a very wonderful prayer. I also had a chance to talk to a number of the graduates after the ceremony before they were rushed off to their barracks and then to various other destinations. Several of them offered their testimonies of how God came into their lives while there and how they were looking forward to sharing that with all that they met in the future. It was definitely an uplifting day.

On the way home we stopped by a Shonies. The waitress advised us that we would get a 20% discount because our son was in the Military. After getting our son gave the blessing a young lady came up to us, thanked our son for his service and gave him some money saying the meal was on her, her way to say thank you. My son tried to refuse the money but she insisted saying that God had laid it on her heart to do so. We all said thank you and God bless you.

Just as we were getting ready to cross the river at St Louis our transmission started giving us problems. It is in a spot that I-55 turns into one lane and takes a 90 degree turn to go over the bridge. There was no place to pull off the freeway and the bridge had no side lane (shoulder) to pull off onto either. A semi driver saw out situation and pulled up behind us. A semi driver saw us having problems and instead of passing us, even though he had a number of opportunities to do so, he stayed right behind us so that no one would hit us until we got to a point where there was a shoulder to pull off onto.

The transmission wouldn't work in any gears except first and second. The bands for third and reverse were gone. We couldn't get a tow truck so we drove it at 30 mph to the first turn off where we found a transmission shop. They verified the bands were shot and told us it was going to take 4 or 5 days to fix and $1500.00.

No way could we afford that. We got back on the road and traveled from there to home (approx 160 miles) at 30 mph all the way on the shoulder, carefully crossing on and off ramps. We hit Springfield, il right during evening rush hour. That was a real trip. It normally takes about 2 hrs, it took us more than twice that.  A lot of prayers and with God's hand on us we made it home with no further problems. The car is back at the used car dealer we got it from just 4 days earlier and they said they are going to get it fixed or get us another car.

We are home and safe. What a wonderful trip full of blessings. A testimony to the wonderful works of our Lord.

Thank you for sharing your trip.
and it made me cry I am crying right now in gratitude and you give me so much  hope.
to see that in such a dangerous situation that Our Lord Jesus Christ our commander in chief put one of His messenger behind the wheel of a semi.
what i am feeling right now is overwhelming
Do not fear for I am near..Glory  thank you I am glade that you are safe.

Hello Sister Def,

YES - I think you are right. However, there are a few things that Christians must know.

The RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH WHICH IS THE BODY OF CHRIST could happen at any time. CHRIST will catch up HIS CHURCH to meet HIM in the clouds. CHRIST will not come all the way down to earth for the RAPTURE.

The SECOND COMING OF CHRIST is at the end of the 7 Year Tribulation Period, the worst and most horrible time in human history. CHRIST will come all the way down to the earth in GREAT, HOLY, RIGHTEOUS WRATH! The best way to describe the Tribulation Period is unimagined horror, blood-shed, and death. The SECOND COMING OF CHRIST will also involve great blood-shed and death. CHRIST HIMSELF will kill many millions of evil men. CHRIST will defeat evil and claim HIS Throne in Jerusalem to rule and reign over the earth for 1,000 years. Before CHRIST takes HIS Throne, 75% of the earth's population will die during this 7 year period of time.

I believe that the Bible teaches the CHURCH will be RAPTURED Home to Glory before the beginning of the Tribulation Period, but many disagree. I don't say this to start an argument, especially considering that there are several highly detailed threads already debated on the forum. So, please consider this as a very brief statement not made for argument. The Tribulation Period was pronounced against Israel most specifically. Israel will be restored after the SECOND COMING OF CHRIST. THE CHURCH was not formed for wrath, RATHER FOR RESCUE. THE CHURCH and Israel are two distinct and unique entities. GOD made Promises to each individual entity, and this must be a primary consideration when studying Bible Prophecy. THE CHURCH is NOT Israel, and Israel is NOT THE CHURCH. Both entities have unique Promises made to them by GOD, and these Promises will be kept perfectly.

I want to give just two major issues to consider when studying the RAPTURE:

1 - The Tribulation Period is a time of WRATH any way you look at it, and THE CHURCH was not formed for WRATH. Israel rejected CHRIST, and the Tribulation Period will be used to purify Israel prior to Israel's restoration after the SECOND COMING OF CHRIST.

2 - THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH WHICH IS THE BODY OF CHRIST AND THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST are two separate and distinct events that do NOT happen at the same time. CHRIST does NOT come all the way down to the earth during the RAPTURE OF HIS CHURCH. Further, the RAPTURE is a matter of love and Home-Bringing for CHRIST'S CHURCH. As a stark contrast, CHRIST comes all the way down to the earth at HIS SECOND COMING in GREAT WRATH. There will be armies of Heavenly Hosts riding behind HIM into battle against evil, and I believe that HIS CHURCH will be part of the Heavenly Hosts following HIM.

Brothers and Sisters, I didn't mention the above for argument as I've already stated. You are most welcome to read highly detailed debates on this subject already on the forum, and you can make your mind up for yourself. Regardless of the timing of the RAPTURE, Christians have been Promised Eternal Life with JESUS CHRIST and a Glorified Body that is fit for the inheritance that awaits us. How and when we physically die really doesn't make much difference. If we physically die before the RAPTURE, we will be absent from the body and present with the LORD. Our bodies will be raised and changed at the RAPTURE. If we are alive at the RAPTURE, we will be caught up in the clouds alive and changed in the twinkling of an eye. As an obvious result, Christians should not fear physical death in the way that the lost do. Our physical death simply means a new and glorious Eternal Life, exactly as GOD Promised.

Love In Christ,
Tom

RAPTURE

KEEP LOOKING UP!

THE RAPTURE WILL BE A REALITY!

1 Thessalonians 4:13 NASB  But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope.

1 Thessalonians 4:14 NASB  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 4:15 NASB  For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 NASB  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

1 Thessalonians 4:17 NASB  Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 4:18 NASB  Therefore comfort one another with these words.

____________________________

1 Corinthians 15:50 NASB  Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

1 Corinthians 15:51 NASB  Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed,

1 Corinthians 15:52 NASB  in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

1 Corinthians 15:53 NASB  For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.

1 Corinthians 15:54 NASB  But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, "DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory.

1 Corinthians 15:55 NASB  "O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O  DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?"

1 Corinthians 15:56 NASB  The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law;

1 Corinthians 15:57 NASB  but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:58 NASB  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.

Read: Daniel 4:1-37
Those who walk in pride he is able to humble. - DanIel 4:37
TODAY IN THE WORD
Michael Vick, star quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons football team, was on top of the world. He was young, he had fame, he had money. But his dream turned sour last summer when he was indicted on dogfighting charges. Though at first he claimed innocence, he was forced to plead guilty when several other defendants struck legal deals in exchange for their testimony against him. He apologized to the league, his team, and the fans, but he still lost lucrative endorsement deals, was suspended indefinitely by the NFL, and will probably spend time in prison. The Falcons also demanded back $22 million of his bonus money.

Vick went from the top of the world to the bottom of the heap. Nebuchadnezzar knew that feeling, too. Today's chapter is in the form of a royal proclamation or letter, one in which the king told the story of how his pride had incurred God's humbling judgment. Since that judgment had been a very public seven-year ordeal, he wanted to make sure the entire Babylonian empire understood the meaning of what had happened.

The narrative falls into three parts: (1) The dream. A huge tree was chopped down, a picture of what would happen if the king's pride continued (vv. 15b-16). Through this warning, God offered mercy even to a pagan ruler. (2) The interpretation. It took some guts for God's prophet, Daniel, to interpret the dream further. Imagine telling one of the world's most powerful men that he needed to repent! (3) The judgment. Nebuchadnezzar's immediate response to these warnings is not recorded, but about one year later the events prophesied came to pass. The moment he boasted of his own glory (v. 30), God took his reason and exiled him to live like a wild animal. The lesson ended only when the king gave proper honor to the Lord (vv. 34-35).

We should not trust in our achievement or success. Pride in such things displaces God, the only One worthy of our humble trust. Those who walk in pride he is able to humble.
TODAY ALONG THE WAY
Keeping a spiritual journal or diary is a good habit, one that helps us keep track of where, how, and why we've been on our journey of faith. Today, we recommend that you write a spiritual journal entry on the topic of pride. Specifically, what area of your life do you feel is the most full of pride? Why? What have you tried to do about it? What has God done to teach you humility in this area? What more do you want the Spirit to do in the future?

I have been writing to God every morning for a couple of hours for the past 9 years.and do not leave my writing until I feel and say that was good.thank you Holy  Spirit for you guiding me in these communications in Jesus Christ my Lord and saviour Thank  You my Father your daughter in Jesus .me def

President Bush is Calling for Israel to End its Occupation of Arab Lands

After talking to Israeli and Palestinian leaders during his visit to Israel, President Bush has called for the Jewish state to end the occupation of Arab lands taken in 1967, so that a viable Palestinian state can be created. Many political pundits are saying that this is the first public statement by Mr. Bush calling for Israel to give up what he termed “occupied land”. While at the time, Bush reaffirmed US commitments to an Israel inside secure and defensible borders.

The President believes that the two sides will be able to sign a peace deal before he leaves office in January, 2009.

Israeli giving up land to create a Palestinian land would be a precursor to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. On his trip to the Middle East, President Bush called for Israel to give up what he called “occupied Arab land” so that there could be a Palestinian state.

In fact, the US President said, “Israel must give up land so that a viable Palestinian state can be created.” The operative word being “created”. There has never been a Palestinian state in the land area known as Israel today.

Leviticus 25 reveals that God said that the land is His land, and that He makes the choices as to whom will live on the land. The Land Covenant of Deuteronomy 30 reveals that God has given the land in question to the Jewish people. Ezekiel 34 states 18 times that God will gather the Jews from around the world and give the land of their forefathers to the Jewish people. Ezekiel 35:22 says that God does this “for His holy name’s sake”.

In a quest for peace, President Bush is calling for Israel to give up what he calls “occupied land”, and in doing so, sets the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.
I have a feeling that he is inviting the Lord to come now.

The Father's Love for the Son

"And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased" (Matthew 3:17).

In this remarkable verse, God the Father, speaking from heaven itself, introduces His beloved Son to the world. This is the first New Testament reference to "love," just as the Father's love for the Son was the first love that ever existed. As Christ prayed in the upper room: ". . . for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world" (John 17:24).

There are many other references to the Father's love for the Son, including two to the voice at His baptism (Mark 1:11; Luke 3:22) and two more in the upper room prayer (John 17:23,26). One great reason for that love is the following: "Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life" (John 10:17).

The extent of the Father's love for His blessed Son was all-encompassing. "The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into His hand" (John 3:35). Furthermore, "the Father loveth the Son, and showeth Him all things that Himself doeth" (John 5:20).

God also spoke of His "beloved Son" on the Mount of Transfiguration, as cited four times (Matthew 17:5; Mark 9:7; Luke 9:35; II Peter 1:17). Thus there are seven references in the New Testament to the Father's heavenly testimony to His beloved Son. Similarly there are seven passages where the Son Himself testifies of that Fatherly love. In addition to the six cited above, Christ said: "As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you" (John 15:9).

Seven testimonies from the Father and seven from the Son! Surely the Father loved the Son with a perfect love. And yet--"Herein is love . . . that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins" (I John 4:10). Such love for unworthy sinners merits nothing less than total thanksgiving from us.
AWESOME  their is no way i can express in all the Universe of The  Love that God the Father has for His Son.What a love circle between the Father and the Son and i once express that by being the Holy Spirit...Love in Jesus Def

I think that the third world war has actually already started and it started on land. The war on terror has been going for some time now and it does indeed include the entire world.

This is an instruction for Christian living, NOT a requirement for Salvation or to maintain Salvation.

GOOD NEWS!

1:  Romans 3:10 NASB  as it is written, "THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE; THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS, THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD; ALL HAVE TURNED ASIDE, TOGETHER THEY HAVE BECOME USELESS; THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE."

2:  Romans 3:23  NASB  for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

3:  Romans 5:12  NASB  Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned--

4:  Romans 6:23  NASB  For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

5:  Romans 1:18  NASB  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

6:  Romans 3:20  NASB  because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.

7:  Romans 3:27  NASB  Where then is boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.

8:  Romans 5:8-9  NASB  But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.

9:  Romans 2:4  NASB  Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?

10:  Romans 3:22  NASB  even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction;

11:  Romans 3:28  NASB  For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.

12:  Romans 10:9  NASB  that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

13:  Romans 4:21  NASB  and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform.

14:  Romans 4:24 NASB  but for our sake also, to whom it will be credited, as those who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead,

15:  Romans 5:1  NASB  Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

16:  Romans 10:10  NASB  for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

Israelis form great human chain to express support for united Jerusalem

Jan Markell, the founder and director of Olive Tree Ministries, is praising the thousands of Israeli citizens who, on the eve of a visit by President Bush, created a human chain around the old city of Jerusalem in demonstration of their support for a free and united city. Israel supporter Gary Bauer, meanwhile, suggests there are more pressing matters the president should be concerned about than dividing up the Holy City.

The human was staged one day before President Bush arrived in Israel on his first presidential trip there, where he will meet with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and top Israeli officials in Jerusalem and visit with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank town of Ramallah. On the trip, Bush is to begin talks with Israeli and Palestinian negotiators on the region's most contentious issues -- including the division of Jerusalem. But thousands of Israelis braved cold and rainy weather to protest that idea, forming a human chain of solidarity.

Markell accuses world leaders of being delusional in their repeated efforts to make peace with the Muslims. "I think that all nations of the world -- including America, for some reason -- are seduced and deluded into believing that if we just give the Muslim-Arab world what they want, and part of that is dividing Jerusalem, [that] there will be world peace," says Markell.

"So will it ever happen?" she asks. "I'm not so sure God will let it happen. But on the other hand, we have the Zechariah verse playing out that Jerusalem will be the 'burdensome stone' for the whole world [Zechariah 12:3]. So, it could happen."

America could face severe judgment, the ministry leader believes, if it helps bring about a divided Jerusalem. "I believe there is a correlation, and it's all based on Genesis 12:3 where God says 'I will bless those who bless you Israel, I will curse those that curse you,'" she maintains. "And I just don't want America, our beloved America to come under any kind of further judgment beyond what we're already getting."

Bauer: Bush placing 'undue pressure' on Israel

Meanwhile, evangelical leader Gary Bauer -- a leading pro-Israel activist in America and member of the executive board for Christians United for Israel -- believes President Bush is pursuing the wrong objectives with his current Mideast peace tour. The prominent Christian Zionist contends Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice should not be calling on Israel to freeze settlement construction.

"The president and Condoleezza Rice have taken a real turn here in recent months," Bauer shares. "I think they're putting undue pressure on the state of Israel to make more concessions. I think that's a dangerous, dangerous thing to do that will not only harm Israel, but ultimately harm the United States."

Bauer wishes Bush would "back off of his obsession ... with a Palestinian state" and, instead, focus on more pressing issues -- such as confronting the threat from Iran's nuclear ambitions and its aggression, which was on display Sunday when Iranian boats threatened to blow up U.S. Navy vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. He says it is unfortunate the U.S. vessels did not fire on the Iranians.

"I think we were being tested," observes Bauer. "And I think it's much more likely that we are going to lose a U.S. naval vessel in the future because of the lessons that Iran learned in this incident this past weekend."

According to Bauer, "The biggest threat facing the U.S. Navy in the Persian Gulf and the strategic Strait of Hormuz is a 'swarm attack' by dozens or even hundreds of small Iranian vessels loaded with explosives." He notes that "it only took one such boat to disable the USS Cole and kill 17 sailors in October 2000."

the third world war will start at sea.

Read: Philippians 2:1-4
In humility consider others better than yourselves. - Philippians 2:3
TODAY IN THE WORD
What might the world have to say in response to the humility described in today's reading? Several recent book titles give us the general idea: Promoting Yourself: 52 Lessons for Getting to the Top . . . and Staying There; Promoting Yourself: 50 Ways to Increase Your Prestige, Power, and Paycheck; 101 Ways to Promote Yourself: Tricks of the Trade for Taking Charge of Your Own Success; Selling Yourself: Be the Competent, Confident Person You Really Are! In other words, the answer to the question is “me, me, me” and more “me”! The world revolves around self. Self must go out and get the best possible life for self that self can get.

Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, taught otherwise. The “if” that begins these verses is not a conditional or “maybe” statement, but rather an assumption about what is true. What is true is that we have multiple benefits from our salvation in and union with Christ, including encouragement, comfort, fellowship, tenderness, and compassion. Two main behaviors should flow from these benefits: unity and humility. “Unity” is described as being like-minded, being in one accord in spirit and purpose, and living in harmony with one another. “Humility” means considering others better than oneself and not acting out of pride or selfish ambition. What does this mean? We should treat people as created in the image of God, and we should love them as He does. Looking for others' benefit in this way is antithetical to the “looking out for #1” motto of the world.

The foundation for all of this is Christ. Because of our spiritual union with Him, because of His love for us, and because He sent His Holy Spirit, we are able to aspire to unity and humility. As we saw yesterday, humility requires a rest-filled faith in God, that is, a confidence in who we are in Christ. Just as confidence in His Father's love and power freed Jesus to do a servant's action, being encouraged and comforted in Him frees us to act humbly.
TODAY ALONG THE WAY
Please read Philippians 2:3-4 one more time. When is the last specific time you can remember obeying this command? If you're not sure, or if the time you think of is embarrassingly far back, choose a specific person and action and carry out these verses before the week is done. We're asking you to choose not in order to eliminate spontaneity, but because we assume you probably already know of a specific situation in which you can put another person first and please the Lord through your obedience.
How much humility do you need when you live with darkness(Pigs, i had to write  it)I don't want to be like them.
i have so so much to learne...Help!

Great is thy mercy toward me and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell. Psa. 86:13

Fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matt. 10:28

Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. Isa. 43:1, 11, 25

They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: for the redemption of their soul is precious. Psa. 49:6-8

I have found a ransom. Job 33:24

God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ. Eph. 2:4, 5

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, wherebywe must be saved. Acts 4:12
