61  Theology / Bible Prescription Shop / Rest on: January 28, 2008, 10:01:51 PM
Rest is the Bible prescription for overexertion and overwork.  Most of us do not have this problem.   Psalm 128:2 says, "It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the breadof sorrows:  for so Lhe giveth His beloved sleep."  Even our Lord Jesus took time to rest physically from all his labors.
62  Theology / General Theology / Responsibilities of the rich on: January 27, 2008, 08:59:40 PM
I Timothy 6:17-18 says, "Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; that they do  good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, wiling to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life."

Rich people should first of all place their trust in Jesus Christ to the saving of their souls.  Then they should share of their wealth to less fortunate believers, do good works, and communicate with other believers in fellowship and testimony.
63  Theology / Apologetics / Re: The cause of war on: January 26, 2008, 12:34:27 AM
Pastor Roger:

While Christians may not agree on every jot and tittle, they can still love you other in the Lord!  Praise the Lord for His love and our love for each other!
64  Theology / Apologetics / The Unpardonable sin on: January 26, 2008, 12:31:50 AM
What is the unpardonable sin?  Can a true born-again Christian commit the unpardonable sin in today's dispensation?
65  Theology / Prophecy - Current Events / Ephesians 5:22 on: January 23, 2008, 10:16:45 PM
The above verse says, "redeeming the time for the days are evil."

This verse is a prophetic one in my opinion because it says that the days in which we are living are evil.  Also, it encourages to use our time for the Lord wisely because He is coming very soon for His church at the rapture.  Forget the trivial things and focus on the primary aspects of our Christian lives.  His coming compels us to labor for Him to reach the lost while we can still work.
66  Prayer / Prayer Requests / Pray for Richard, Jim, and Chris on: January 23, 2008, 10:11:32 PM
Pray for Jim, Richard, and Chris.  Also, please pray for my injured back which occurred as a result of a fall.  Thanks.
67  Fellowship / Parenting / Christian Discipline on: January 21, 2008, 06:54:21 PM
Proverbs 23:15 says, "Foolishness if bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him."

Christian discipline based upon Christian love shall prevent children from growing up to be self-conceited, self-righteous, spoiled brats!
68  Fellowship / You name it!! / Re: Coming Election on: January 21, 2008, 06:45:43 PM
That's why I am supporting Mike Huckabee for President.  He may not win, but he is a winner in God's sight!  Mr. Huckabee supports and believes in biblical creation instead of evolution, supports pro-life causes, supports family values, and supports gun rights for the law-abiding citizen.  So I will vote for Huckabee, and if he does not win, I will support any Republican nominee against liberals Hillary and Barack.

69  Theology / Bible Study / God's judgment upon Gog on: January 20, 2008, 09:09:30 PM
Ezekiel 38-39 talks about the judgment of God upon Gog when Gog invades Israel dwelling safely in their own land in the last days.  In fact, Ezekiel 38J:4 says, "And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armor, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords."  God Himself, puts a fish hook and bait to draw Russia, Persia which is Iran, Ethiopiia, and Libya (which is probably Northern Africa which is Muslim, Gomer which could be Eastern Europe and Muslim parts of the former Soviet Union, and Turkey to attack Israel.  Then God's judgment will cause fire, brimstone, and earthquakes against this unfortunate, ungodly coalition and 5/6 of them will die according to Ezekiel 39:2.  Then Israel will truly know that God is the protector of Israel.  I think many people could be saved during this time also! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
70  Fellowship / Witnessing / Witnessing on: January 19, 2008, 10:40:32 PM
Acts 1:8 says, "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:  and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost parts of the earth."

I use tracts, Christian books, Christian movies and tapes, and testimonies to lead lost people to the Lord. I have been called to witness in my Jerusalem, my county where I live in.
71  Fellowship / What are you doing? / Visiting nursing homes on: January 19, 2008, 12:31:28 AM
Luke 14:12-14 says, "Then said He also to him that bade Him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbors; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.

But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind;

And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee;  for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just."

I visit nursing homes, pass out Christian literature, and witness to the patients there.  When I do so, I remember the above verses.  Visit the poor, the sick, and all those who are less unfortunate than I am.  I love visiting those senior citizens who are neglected and shunned by society and the church.
72  Theology / Bible Prescription Shop / Personal holiness on: January 16, 2008, 09:58:30 PM
II Corinthians 5:21 says, "For He (God the Father) hath made Him (God the Son) sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

Jesus Christ is our holiness  before Him and the Heavenly Father as He Himself is God.  I Thessalonians 4:7 says, "For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness."  This means that God seeks us to live holy lives for Him since we are found to be holy in His sight in the righteousness of Jesus Christ.  Outwardly and inwardly, we should seek to live holy lives because of what He has done for us at Calvary.  This covers Arminians, Calvinists, and all Christians who claim to know Him as their personal Lord and Savior.  We should live to please Him as He died for us and rose again to declare us holy and justified in the sight of God.
73  Theology / Bible Prescription Shop / Re: Self-control on: January 16, 2008, 09:46:52 PM
Beloved:

Addictions to various sins such as alcoholism, gambling, drugs, sex, eating, etc., can only be overcome by the filling of the Holy Spirit as we allow Him to control our lives moment by moment.  Jesus Christ has helped me overcome anxiety and depression, but I still fall short many times.  Get the book by Tim LaHaye called The Spirit-Controlled Temperament as it deals with the various personalities which the Spirit of God can give us victory over.  I am shy by nature, but yet I have to teach school and that requires me to come out of my shell of shyness.  I will pray for you beloved and also pray for me.  Look up Galatians 5:22-25 and get a good commentary and Greek lexicon and God will give you spiritual insight.
74  Theology / Apologetics / Jude 1:3 on: January 15, 2008, 09:41:27 PM
Jude 1:3 says, "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you lthat ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints."

Amen!  Contend earnestly for the true Christian faith of the Word of God!
75  Prayer / General Discussion / John 14:13-14 on: January 13, 2008, 08:52:58 PM
John 14:13-14 says, If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it."

Pray to the Father in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ and in accordance with His will!  He will answer your prayer according to His will for you, and what is best for you as His child!
