Hey brother Tom!
And to think that, our freedom was bought, not at a price of our own but by the Precious Blood of our Loving Savior, Jesus Christ! Yet, so many still feel they must purchase freedom from man, or find it in the promises of a false prophet. All they need to do is pick up the Bible. The Words in there can do so much more (infinite things) than the words from a person who also has his or her hand out for money! Our freedom is free. All we need to do is look Up and call out to our Wonderful Father! Praise Jesus!

After spending the whole day watching my kids, taking care of the house and then working throughout the night on my business, I went outdoors for my night time prayer. After praying, I felt the need to stay awake and just wait for God's Miracle to be shown to me--something I miss or take for granted every day. At the crack of dawn, I went out side and sat in the garden, watching God's nature come alive! How many times do we forget to take into account all the miracles, how simple they may seem to us, that He provides. Why pay for a picture show when we can go right outdoors and see God in all His Glory?  We get so busy in our daily lives--even debating this topic (lol) when we don't need to debate one thing, for it is well spoken--We are ALL saints in His eyes and all His children! Why even try to be anything else, when He has given us so much?

God Bless,
Kelly
48  Theology / Debate / Re: Freemasonry on: June 07, 2006, 06:05:05 PM
I was told by someone in a church that, Freemason's call themselves that because Jesus was a mason. Um, maybe I am reading things wrong but, Jesus was a carpenter, taught by Joseph--where did this mason thing come in?

Maybe I was told the wrong thing. Then again, I was just told that, on the back of the dollar bill, the pyramid with the eye is a freemason symbol. I was always told that, it was the eye of God watching over us--that shows how much I know.

I, unfortunately got involved in wiccan as a young woman, angry at a church and rebelling as young people sometimes do. I know more about wiccan that I would like to, but I praise God that He forgave me for that and let me see the falseness of that, so called religion. Wiccan starts out making you believe that, in no way it is evil--it is a love of nature, as well as all the elements. You then get involved and find out how evil it truly is. I think, or have been told by others that had family involed in Freemasonry that, FM is the same way--it starts out innocent enough to grab hold of your interest, and then gets evil as it goes further on.

Either way, I am sticking to the only following that is important: The true Word of our Bible and the ways of our Only Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

God Bless,
Kelly

The cure involves the fact that Christians don't place their faith in men, rather we place our faith in One who never fails, JESUS CHRIST, our Lord and Saviour forever.

Amen to that!!!! Many are being swayed by these rich, self-proclaimed profits. Benny Hinn being the first to come to mind. Because I put a prayer request in on his site at one time, I am unsuccessful in removing myself from his mailing list (even though I have threatened to report this to his server). I was told in the last message that, I wasn't following God's Will by giving money to the Hinn ministry and God, basically would punish me for it. Okay, not exact words but that is how it is given in context. How many do not have the believe in God--faith strong enough to read the Word or too desperate for help that they focus on people like this instead of His Face? I am afraid to know. If we just give that amount of ourself to Christ, these false prophets would go under completely and be exposed. The problem is that, today's society seeks immediate rescue and doesn't want to wait on God's timing in many circumstances. This is how false prophets get so rich and famous--along with being believed by their false miracles.

It is sad, but we must do all we can to keep everyone focused on Christ, and Christ alone. Without Him, there are no miracles. With Him we are healed, loved and provided for, as well in rich in a way that no money can ever come close to.

God Bless,
Kelly

Hey Dave!
Yeah, still with it although that is always up for debate itself.  Wink

Do you recognize your faith as a gift from God?  Are you thankful to Him for the belief you have?  Even our repentance and perseverance are gifts from God. All these things are a result of His grace (Eph 2:8-10), and when it is not sourced in His Grace, it comes from the flesh. God calls these works from the flesh filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6). It is only of His Grace according to His mercy that we are saved (Titus 3:5).

Oh, boy did you hit my faith on the head. I not only is my faith a gift from God but an HONOR for me to have. I have been in that dark place where there was no faith, yet God never lost faith in me. I am ever grateful to Him for being in my heart and my life! I choose God, yes..but God chose ME! How sweet is that gift? Beyond any words that I can post here brother!

Kelly, i'm sorry that you are going through so much suffering. Always keep your focus on the big picture, His eternal purpose, and the trials of your life will not overwelm you. This is something that I had to learn the hard way. In a world that likes it's standard pat answers, for someone who needed to know more, much of the watered down Gospel preaching was very frustrating for me. Here are a few things that helped me a great deal when I needed it most. I hope that they bless you as much as they have blessed me.

Brother, I was not implying that my suffering was something of an issue. My suffering, as I see it has NO COMPARISON AT ALL to how badly Jesus suffered for me. I consider it a privilege to have gone through trials, even though at the time, it didn't seem that way. I have grown, and God has the one that made me grow. Without His guidance and Loving Hands over my situations, I know how I would be--bitter, rebellious, unloving, distant--Been there, done that. I would rather be God's Child and look to Him for help when it comes to life's pains. He has never let me down.

God has saved me from many things. I was supposed to be aborted, yet my Grandmother stopped my mother and took me in. Right there I know of God's purpose for me in His Plan. I grew up emotionally and physically abused, although not as bad as others. I was drinking by 12, smoking pot by 15 and doing cocaine by the age of 18. God not only stood by me as I went through all this, but pulled me out and used it to His Glory. Even when I buried my 4th child, He led me to build a website that helped thousands of people over the past 7 years. I have 5 living children, 3 with severe special needs (2 with autism and one with mild cerebral palsy), and I feel these children are a unique gift from Him, and know that He has given me strength and love that I could never have had if I didn't have faith. God restored my marriage. God restored my faith in churches by leading me to a place that is rich in Christianity. I could go on and on but, as for suffering, I no longer worry  but ask for prayer instead. With the power of God, I know I will make it through and somehow, with what He has allowed me to learn, I will help others to His Glory.

Yes, we have a choice, but no one could make the right choice unless God moves first in their lives.

Amen to THAT ONE!

We are saved by the righteousness of God, Jesus' imputed righteousness. The only way we can be imputed with His  righteousness is by faith, once we begin to use "works and faith" under the title of faith, we are not speaking of faith anymore. Works, whether good or bad, will always be a result of our salvation, or lack of, but never the cause. See Roman 10:3-4.

I think why I brought that up is that, many believe that, salvation comes from works alone. Those that believe this have not truly engulfed themselves in The Word, and what Jesus has taught us. Our paths are to be TRULY for His Glory. If we walk along side of Him, no matter how many times we stumble, He will be right there to take our hand. The walk must be a profession of faith, as well as a walk that shows the true love of Christ. Unfortunately, some don't believe this is true and stop walking after they profess Jesus is their Savior. It goes deeper than that, as you are well aware.

We must continue to spread the Word and to ask God for guidance, as well as strength to be obedient to Him. I pray deeply in the Holy Spirit every night and that is one of the first things I ask for -- obedience in His Will for me! Praise Jesus!

I have to run too. Who would have known that, having 5 kids, I had to feed them too?  Grin

I Praise God for all my blessings and can never express my love an gratitude to Jesus enough. No matter how much I praise Him, it will never compare to how much He has done/will do for us! Magnified is His Name! Thank You Jesus!

God Bless,
Kelly
51  Theology / Debate / Re: Apostolic succession on: June 06, 2006, 06:36:23 PM
I don't really know what Apostolic Succession is, but I promise to look it up!

I grew up Roman Catholic, during the 60's and 70's. It was, at that time a very judgmental, money loving church. I know this as a fact because, my mother was turned away as a Catholic because she divorced, but a famous senator of that time, who gave millions to the church, was absolved, even though he also committed murder.

As for the Catholic religion today, I don't know how they handle things. I do know that, a Pope is voted in by man, not by God. Same with all that are brought into the church as "leaders". The bible clearly states that, we are to profess our sins STRICTLY to our Father; God. No man can absolve us of sin. No prayer ritual given by a man can absolve us either. We must be forgiven by the Father, by professing our sins directly to HIM--not to a man behind a frosted window in a booth, or any person for that matter.

The bible also clearly states that, we are not to worship idols. Yet, I grew up watching candles lit under Jesus' mother, Mary and she is worshipped. The bible, no where states that Mary is anyone to pray to. Neither is Joseph or any other biblical figure except to God. God, being Jesus, the Father and the Holy Spirit. We also are not to profess one church as the only church, but to profess one GOD as the only God we follow. By professing one's church (part of the apostolic creed--"We believe in one HOLY, Apostolic, Catholic Church". No, I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, His Son, Christ and the presence of the Holy Spirit.

I am not bashing the Catholic people. My grandmother was a devout Catholic and probably more Christian than most people I ever knew. However, the rituals that are followed by the Catholic Church (and many others, for that matter) do not follow what is clearly taught in the Bible. Man is the one that made their own laws involving the church as a building and religion. Christ told us that WE were the church. We, being each of us that follows Jesus and are His Children.

God Bless,
Kelly

Let me try this another way. What work will you glorify yourself for doing without God? What desire do you have that is good that was not given to you by God. A simple list will do.

Personally, I don't think anyone should write a list of any good that they do. God keeps the list and for us to claim it in this manner you describe, it would only look like vanity in one's self, as well as "bragging". We are to do things in God's Name for His Glory and His Glory alone. Each of us has our own way of following the leads of our Father, in the way that Jesus tells us to do, and only has to account for those task with God.

I do as God tells me to do. That is where FREE WILL comes in. I could choose to turn my back on someone that needs my help, or not tithe when I could spend the money or something else I think I need. I can ignore the pulling of the Holy Spirit and not pray. These are all MY CHOICE, for I accepted Jesus as my Savior--professing that with my lips and my heart. I know some that don't believe in God's calling and ignore what they should do because they would rather do what is pleasing to them. That is where CHOICE comes in. God's plan can only be followed if we follow the teachings that the Bible tells us to follow. God know us all before we were born, for He knitted us in our mother's womb. Yet, He gave us a choice on how we would fulfill His calling for our life. If we don't follow His plan, then it is up to us to reap what we sow upon Jesus' return.

Salvation doesn't come from works alone. I know many that believe that, but salvation comes from professing and believing that Jesus is the Son of God and our Lord and Savior. Only through Him do we get to our Father. You can go out and hand out bagged lunches to homeless people, or help out a stranger that is in need-that is what we are supposed to do as Christians. However, if you still don't believe in Christ while doing these works, they mean nothing on judgment day. For, you have followed your own ways for your own glory--and not for the Glory of God, and in the Name of our Precious Lord, Jesus Christ.

That is my belief, anyway.

God Bless,
Kelly

53  Theology / Debate / Re: Divine Sovereignty and Human Will on: June 04, 2006, 12:37:47 PM
I believe (and am sure someone will tell me if I am wrong) but, God's Will is something that we choose to follow or not. What God wants from us is not always the path that we choose, if we are not faithful to His guidance. That is where FREE WILL comes in. Yes, God has a plan for all of us. But, even in the case of Joseph, that plan came to light because Joseph had faith. FAITH is the key word there in God's plan working for the good of all of us.

There are many things about God I don't understand. I certainly don't understand why my child died and God didn't save him. However, I have seen good come out of that loss, because through that loss I was able to help others soon after his death. The key thing is that, I believed in God. Even though I was angry with God, I still believed in Him and He took a bad situation and made good out of it. I will always love my child, but my faith has me at peace because I know he is in the Arms of Jesus until I get to see him again in our HOME, Heaven.

God has given me many trials. Let's just say that, my boat is on wavy waters all the time. I have 3 special needs children (2 with autism) and each day is a challenge, as I have 5 living children in all. We don't have a lot of money--in fact, we are broke. However, God has never failed to provide for us, and get me through the hardest of times. With all I have been through, I have had faith and God has rewarded that faith with my ability to help others that are dealing with the same issues. I am blessed by that.

God is God. I am Human. There is much about God I don't understand but I am not meant to understand. God is mysterious, all powerful and His Name is Magnified above all names. You cannot apply logic to God. We all believe what God does for us in a way that comforts us. I guess my point is, I won't know for sure what God was doing until I get to Heaven. I am first on the list for asking Him a few things...so everyone, get behind me! Smiley

Oh, before I ask questions however--I will be praising and thanking Him for all He did for me in my life!

God Bless,
Kelly
54  Theology / Debate / Re: Why dislike Mormons so much? on: June 04, 2006, 12:27:07 PM
First of all, I am not Protestant, Catholic or any denomination started by man. I follow Christ--I am a Christian. There is no other name for it.

Secondly, the Bible has been disputed by "so called experts" for years, but they have yet to disprove anything in the Bible that is recorded. As of this date in time, NOTHING can be disproved in the Bible for content, date or recorded miracles. However, the Bible has been proved, time and time again as being the correct (and only) book about God. Many have tried to follow it (See the Da Vinci Code post where I put the dates for each different book that was ever written--the New Testament is the only one published soon after the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ) in other books and doctrines but most can be disproved. The Bible, as of yet cannot! That says something, doesn't it?

Any other book written from any "religion" is false doctrine. The only true doctrine from God and about Jesus is THE BIBLE. It doesn't matter which version you read, as long as it states "THE HOLY BIBLE" on it. The only true lawmaker is God. Although other religions have laws of their own that they make their members abide by, the only TRUE LAW, not made by man is the Law of God! Jesus Christ is God. AKA==the Trinity!

I have had enough of the DOOR TO DOOR RELIGION SALESMEN this week, coming in pairs of two and trying to throw hellfire and damnation in my face if I don't convert to their beliefs. Mormon also goes door to door. Christians, who believe that Jesus is the one and only true Savior and the son of God don't have to go door to door to sell their beliefs. The truth speaks for itself. As for fire and damnation, I don't have to worry about it. I follow the Life, the Truth and the Way--Jesus Christ. Through Him I will go to my Heavenly Father and no one on earth can tell me otherwise. I only listen to Jesus.

There, I made my spew. Take it as you will. It doesn't matter to me what may be disputed by what I wrote--the truth is, Jesus is the only One that can dispute anything==and I know He won't, for He is the only truth.

God Bless,
Kelly

56  Theology / Debate / Re: What was happenning in Acts? on: May 28, 2006, 11:47:58 PM
Blessings!

I could be wrong (I have been once before, I think..hee hee) but, in Revelations, when Jesus returns; Does He also raise the dead from the graves? It was always my belief that, God took His favored ones to heaven, for they used to sacrifice burned offerings for their sins. Abraham, Noah, Jacob--all of those in the Old Testament that were faithful to God, including David did this and prayed constantly for God's forgiveness and mercy. I also believe that David, in many of his Psalms speaks about being in God's Kingdom and God is his Savior. Since Jesus was and always has been, long before he was born of the flesh, I would only take the belief that the old testament faithful would have been in Heaven. Jesus took away the need for burned offerings upon His birth. If the burned offerings before His birth were for sins, it only seems logical to me that God took those people to Heaven as long as they followed and worshipped Him, as well as obeying His laws of that time.

I am no scholar so, if I am way off on this, let me know. I love to learn and take any posts as knowledge.

God Bless,
Kelly

Amen to the stairway to heaven (not to be confused with Led Zeppelin Smiley )

I just finished rereading the story of Jacob and it comes from his dream of the stairway to heaven, with angels ascending and descending from the heavens.

Wow, I actually know something! *puts gold star on head*

59  Theology / General Theology / Re: “The Most Serious Assault Against Christianity” is … The Da Vinci Code? on: May 22, 2006, 12:00:06 AM
Hey bro!
I don't thow blunt objects. I am old, need glasses and miss--which ends up having me hit with the blunt object that I threw!  Wink

I am so old fashioned that people think I grew up in a different era. I do hear you on what you are saying and agree. At one time, I lived at an aunt's home as a kid, and she was part of the women's union in Massachusetts. When we shopped, we boycotted anything that wasn't American made. She made me pick up everything to see what the sticker said on the bottom, so we only supported American workers. I understand what you are saying completely. I grew up in the same era.

I just think that, in today's society we can take the bad and make something good out of it. Instead of always boycotting and protesting, we can take the worst instance and make something good out of it. Oh, if only more would ask questions about Jesus after this, and want to know the true word..that would be wonderful. However, many are so influenced by Hollywood depictions these days that, it is hard to know what will come of this. I do believe, however that, when this movie loses its hype, we will be right back to where it was before the controversy began. Oh, if only the Bible could get this much exposure. Then, we would have nothing to protest, but to only feel pure joy as we talked about it!

I live in Kansas..it is supposed to be Oz..which is a dreamland (and trust me, Kansas is no OZ). Humor me..I tend to dream the seemingly impossible dream sometimes.

God Bless bro!

60  Theology / General Theology / Re: Why an empty cross in your church? on: May 21, 2006, 09:08:44 PM
Our church has no cross, empty or anything. We are a church for the unchurched. We try to reach seekers, and many associate the cross with other churches and some have actually walked out of services when they see the cross as you are describing, due to a bad experience. This, of course is what our sister churches have seen, or been told when they have asked what keeps some from coming into new churches. Some feel the cross being displayed is a turn off, until they hear more about Jesus. Then again, I grew up in a religion where my grandmother displayed Jesus, as well as Mary and Joseph all over our house. I am told now that it is idol worship, but I never saw her worship any of those--she kept them because she so believed in the Lord, and her faith also believed in Mary and Joseph being saint (let me also add that, although her religion might be argued, she was more Christian to others than most people I know today. The woman loved and helped everyone, and never asked for anything in return. She did it all in the name of Jesus).

The cross with Jesus on it is to show that, Jesus is not there anymore, but has ascended into heaven, as our scriptures clearly state. The cross is a symbol of faith. We don't have to look at it to wonder Who was on it. We, as true Christians don't need to see it to be reminded for all He did for us.

Personally, I don't care about what a church looks like, or what decorations they have. They are material things and material things are wants and needs of the flesh. I care about the hearts of those that are in the church--the congregation and those that lead the church--and how they display Christ's works. No picture or statue, to me, means anything. It is just for display. It is how we show others about Christ, through us--His Vessels that matters.

And, that..is my view on things.

God Bless!
